Pros: Reliable, good battery, good auto setting, great program settings.
Cons: Poor night images
Overall: I've taken this camera all over the world travelling in the last year, and it has performed well in most conditions, except for night shots. Night shots look grainy and aren't very good.
The auto setting works well mostly, as well as the program mode where you can change some manual settings.
I'm overall really happy with this camera. Would recommend it to others.

Pros: very good photo quality in the day light, and super zoom.
Cons: Bad photo quality indoors especially at night.
Overall: I've bought the camera 3 months ago. I like the image quality in daylight, but the quality at night and indoor is not good at all. The colors seems to be yellow not natural.
The zoom of the camera is very good with high quality. The bad thing in the zooming feature, is that when you record movies, you hear the ticks of zoom button in the recorded video.
The auto mode of the camera is perfect and shots with the right mode.
About the price, I've bought it in offer, and I think 300$ is suitable price, more than will be too much.
I like the design of the camera generally, but the flash area is not comfortable. The flash pops up every time you start the camera.
The shutter lag is not small, it take few seconds to save the picture, and I didn't like the slow shooting performance.

Pros: zoom; build quality; screen size; manual adjustment for aperture, focus, etc;
when turned up, the brightest flash I've ever seen
Cons: picture quality; size; weight; no sunset / negative or other fun modes typically found on compact digitals
Overall: Doesn't take any better pics than a camera of half it's price. I wouldn't recommend getting one until they drop to around $300. Paid around $550 for mine when they were new, upgrading from an IXUS 120is, and I'm a bit disappointed. Pics should be much better quality. The only reason to buy this is because of the zoom. Low light photos are rubbish, unless you want to blind people with the flash.

Thinking of selling mine and getting the Cybershot equivalent as it apparently has much better low light performance - takes 6 rapid shots and combines them.

Pros: Best zoom in a compact camera. Great auto mode. No red-eye in photos. Smile shutter is great for taking photos of children.
Cons: Shutter speed could be faster.
Overall: This is a great compact camera which takes professional looking photos with minimal effort. I was a kodak easyshare user but got fed up with having to touch up all my photos to fix the red-eye or the colour. The canon takes great photos not matter the lighting. The smile shutter is great for capturing children at the right moment and I never have a problem with red-eye. I bought it on-line for $350 which is a great price for such a great point and shoot camera.
