Canon Camera SX30 IS – I have had this camera for a little over 2 years now, and am loving it and try and use it almost every day. I am still learning how to use the manual mode, however the automatic photos usually turn out so amazing that I just snap away on one of the automatic settings. Like every Canon Camera, this is really easy to use and I love the instant video red button option for those moments that are too awesome to miss (when the kids start pulling faces)

The Zoom capabilities are amazing, and even the digital aspect of the zoom is fantastic if you need to zoom in on the name of a cargo ship out at sea, it can easily read the name on the side. I do this, just because I can. Preferably with a tripod.

This camera has a turning viewing screen for self portrait's and an option for face detect so it can take a photo automatically when someone is smiling. There are so many things you can do with this camera, that there are too many to mention.

Some of my favorite at the moment is Miniature Effect, for photos taken of further away scene's, with or without people, and Vivid, it picks up more color if you don't want to edit the photo afterwards. I have taken photos of the moon and being able to zoom in with the moon taking up the whole screen and having it clear is awesome. I have been learning how to take night photos on the manual mode, once you have mastered the aperture and settings (which are in the instruction disc), this camera can do anything you want it to do. I highly recommend this camera. I love everything about this camera, and for an amiture photographer or budding photographer, or a professional photographer who likes to have all the zoom capabilities in one camera, this camera is awesome. The only con for this camera, is the manual is on disc, so if you want to look up something quickly you need your computer. But if you are like me, the learning is in the playing.

Near SLR versatility without the price – This is a non SLR camera which has exceptional long range lens capability from its factory lens .. something like 35mm to 500mm + in old 35mm terminology. This means it cant be easily hand held at full zoom, although the in built image stabilisation is a big help. Overall the camera exceeded my expectations. Much faster shutter response than my previous Panasonic model which is a valuable improvement. Image quality at maximum zoom is average, but at normal distances its excellent. Basically for a non professional not wanting to spend mega bucks on a top of the line SLR with all the lens you need to buy separately (and lug about) , its a great option. Brilliant zoom capability, easy to use, no separate lens needed. Low light at full zoom range is quality compromised by the relatively small lens

Excellent – I have waited my whole life for this camera!!! Sensational zoom, which was the main reason for purchasing but I am blown away by the other features, especially the fact that it has no shutter delay!!! I have had a few digital cameras and they have all had a delay which is frustrating when trying to take a quick shot. This camera takes every shot instantly,no delay at all! It takes exceptional shots, very easy to use, zooms in and out seamlessly, lots of scene modes, long battery life (rechargable battery),feels great in your hand, easy to use with one hand, placement of buttons is perfect-I can't fault it at all.My last camera was a Lumix with a 12x zoom which was also a fantastic camera but this one just blows it away! It also goes from optical to digital zoom automatically which means you can zoom out to 140x without having to make any extra adjustments.I considered going to a DSLR and looked at the EOS but I wanted a camera that I could just point and shoot and also one that the whole family could use, this one does everything! It has the same internal processor and body as the EOS,hence the speed, which makes it different from other compact digitals. This really is a true bridge from an automatic camera and a DSLR,it has to be seen to be believed! It is amazingly cheap - I got it online at Topbuy for $368! I would seriously pay three times that! stylish,no shutter delay, huge zoom, easy to use, fantastic price, one of a kind, best camera ever! absolutely nothingat all

The best Camera I have ever owned – We brought this camera for our trip to New Zealand and came back with the clearest photo's we have ever taken. We purchased it in Mackay from Camera House in March 2011. Pros:Zoom is amazing on it. I love portrait mode on the camera. It enabled me to take the best pictures of myself and the kids. The battery lasts a long time (a few days of none stop holiday pictures and video) It is rechargeable, saving you on buying replacements. Video camera is very easy to use and took good quality video. Bonus mine came with a free canon camera bag.

Con:

When using the flash there a bit of a delay before it takes a picture. Not that big of a deal, just annoying. It also is a bit bulky if you’re carrying it all day.

Overall:

We are happy with this camera and it has given us the best pictures that we have ever taken. energy efficient, clear photo's & amazing zoom time delay when using flash & Bulky if using all day

Inexpensive camera that takes brilliant photos – I got it as a gift and wasn't overly impressed with the design at first but then my impression changed as I was using it. It reminds me of SLR camera but without the bulkiness. Menus are easy to use, setting simple. All in all I am more that happy with it. Simple to use, inexpensive, takes fantastic photos.
