Love it! Perfect for overnight or overseas! – After using a bulky Porta cot this was PERFECT for travelling overseas. Our first child slept in it whilst travelling for a month! All other kids have slept well. Where possible we wrap the mattress with a towel and then a cot fitted sheet for comfort as in our hot weather can get sweaty. Initially tricky to close but once you get the hang of it it's easy and worth the perseverance!

Fabulous apart from mattress design flaw – Mixed feelings. We've loved our 'tent', and used it heaps, but I've only just twigged now our daughter is older that the mattress has probably always been flat. Let me explain: - the mattress is very good at self inflating - almost does the entire inflation itself, with only a tiny top up needed. - since our very early days with it, the… Read more

mattress has expanded in the bag when packed away, even when the valve is closed.

- I have only just twigged that if the mattress can suck in air when the valve is closed, it can probably let out air too (hence, go flat when being slept on).

- I finally investigated - putting the inflated mattress under water, and found leaks where a corner of the valve piece that is inside the mattress had punctured the mattress fabric. There are two leaks, one on each side, that look to be caused by the same problem.

I used a patch kit from another inflatable mattress, but sadly, it failed to stem the leak, and our daughter is old enough to be aware of it!

Very light & convenient, my chlld slept amazingly in it – This fold up travel dome was purchased as I was after a light and very portable portacot, and reviews seemed very good. I have to say i was slightly apprehensive when i first put my son in on the first night, he is only 7 months so we couldn't use the sleeping bag, and as there are no anchor points, the base cotton sheet i bought slid all… Read more

around and i was paranoid about sids. But anyway, ignoring that, he had quite a good nights sleep.

The 2nd night i took the mattress out from under the base and put it INSIDE the tent and then laid a mattress cover around and underneath that, it was MUCH better functionally and the cover did not slide around at all. My son slept extremely well and I am very pleased with the purchase. It just needed me to innovate a little.

Folding up took a little bit of guesswork and time but we got there eventually, the instructions could be improved for that but overall it was very easy and effective as a bed for my infant son.

Unable to fold up, design needs reworking – This appeared to be a good product, we were happy with price, portability, ease of opening, the self inflating mattress and seemingly good quality. However the instruction manual directions and pictures are unclear and we have been unable to disassemble it for storage. Three army men, a scouts leader and three mums could not figure it out. On the… Read more

first attempt at folding it, the whole shape shifted and became uneven, we tried to re-shape it as suggested in the product manual, but it would not return to its original shape, with one end rising off the ground in an egg shape. The more we tried the more frustrating it became, something so simple has taken hours of attempts.

In addition, our baby has quickly figured how to pull the sides down and use it to pull himself up and roll out. It has lost its shape quickly and sits at an odd angle. We had had it only a month and used it a hand full of times.

We had to get a single bed underlay and cut it to size to provide a softer base as the self inflating mattress is very firm, making bub uncomfortable.

I think the design needs some work and the manual/pictures need re-writing. They are impossible for us to figure out. I think we will throw this out-we can't pack it up and our 7 month old son can get out of it.

So disappointed as we really wanted this to work for us. I wish I could get a refund. price $60, smaller and more portable than a travel cot easily bent out of shape, unable to disassemble, unhelpful instruction manual, hard mattress

Has saved us around Europe – We bought this tent cot (different colour but same design?) before coming on our European trip. We are 4 weeks in to a 5 week trip and I know I won't have time to write a review once we get home and busy... It has just been fantastic for us. I was skeptical that our 20 month would like it - he put up a small protest at first, but he has loved it.… Read more

I'd recommend trying it out at home with your baby before taking a trip...

It fits in our suitcases, and once when they were too full we checked it through separately. It is small and light compared to all of the others. A few times hotels have offered travel cots and we've knocked them back because this takes up less space in the room, keeps mossies at bay (and we've encountered them in Tokyo, Scotland and Italy - something we really only expected a lot of in Australia and Asia) and best of all, keeps him sleeping longer. When he is in the cot even if we can't completely darken the hotel room he can stay nice and dark in the cot/tent and that has been fantastic for getting him back into a sleep pattern across time zones.

The only negative to this cot is that we are never really sure how to fold it up properly but somehow we wiggle it back into the bag - more than compensated for by how quickly it springs open. Light to carry, small when set up, mossie proof and nice and dark inside...

Will work only with an infant or bigger kid – The design is fantastic. Very light. Set up in exactly 1 second, but easily flattened by a stubborn toddler who does not want to stay inside. I reckon this will work fantastically for a little infant who can't stand up yet, or a bigger kid who understand that the cot is for sleeping. The material is a tad hot for sleeping in summer and you… Read more

can't line the inside with a natural fabric without the risk. Inexpensive, light, easy set up Easily flattened, hot material

This is perfect – The travel Dome has been a great buy. We used it only last week. At first we were slightly worried about it not have enough cushion to keep our daughter's head of the floor. But after watching her sleep comfortably, and also trying our heads on the mattress ourselves, we will now be using it whenever we go out. Furthermore, we won't have to lug… Read more

around a porti-cot.

Its good features (as shown by our daughter) are as follows

-tumble proof, meaning your crawling baby can't try to climb up and fall out

-air cushion actually provides enough mattress for your child

-over head canopy gives your child its own space. Important during sleeping time

-portable and sturdy

In closing, its a fantastic alternative to having and/or using a porti-cot. It's portable, durable, light and most of all, effective for securing your child and providing a 'comfortable sleep' environment
