Why discontinued - we love this machine? – Just noticed this was discontinued and wanted to tell the manufacturer to bring it back. We love this machine, we use it every morning (and more) - freshly ground and brewed with minimal fuss. It has a timer which works perfectly - so if you need a wake up coffee its great. It has the option to use ground coffee (turn off the grinder) and a good range of strengths. Easy to clean with a swing out filter - even have the kids trained to do this. We used to use a plunger but it got cold very quickly whereas this has a thermal jug which keeps the coffee hot for over an hour without using electricity. We did have an issue for a while with it not going in the jug so we keep the whole thing on a tray so it doesn't overflow on to the bench (note to manufacturer, in case you bring it back). Much nicer coffee than those silly pods and smaller than the brewster style machines. If you find one - buy it - ours is still going strong after over 3 years!

Amazing coffee machine – Bought this several years ago and can't live without it! Never had a problem with any parts. The coffee is fresh and stays hot. I can't believe the negative reviews. I make a pot, have a hot cup, and return in a few hours for a second hot cup. LOVE the carafe. Only problem is that I can't easily find the water filters anymore. But cleaning is easy - besides rinsing out the filter basket, I brush out the accumulated ground coffee about once a month, and take the coffee pot lid apart to clean inside it, and that's it. One caution: If you don't clean the coffee pot lid about once every few months, it may stick and not let the coffee through to the pot - then you get a mess. But I love this machine - far superior to regular drip machines.

This is an expensive machine that does not last – This is a rubbish machine. It doesn't keep the coffee hot after brewing, it leaks water, requires weekly clean-out and most recently the knob that holds the bean bowl in place has broken. All this on a machine that isn't even 2 years old. I would give it zero stars.

Burr Grind & Brew Thermal Automatic

great machine! Perfect for dinner parties! – I love this coffee machine. Can make up to twelve cups of coffee so great for dinner parties etc. Can either use beans or ground coffee. Has a timer so you can program when you want it to start. Easy to use and set up. You get a dvd with a homely looking lady called mary you takes you through step by step on how to use and care for your machine. Very helpful!

When doing beans you can chose three coffee strengths, mild, medium or strong.

Parts feel to be good quality as does the burr grinder. I mainly use this machine when I have people come over.

Only negative see con below. If it wasn't for this I'd give it 5 stars! Looks fantastic. Parts feel well made, solid. Can brew beans and ground coffee! Thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot. If you don't fill the carafe with boiling water first, leave for a few minutes then empty out before you start to brew, you will find once you add cold milk to the coffee it will become luke warm instead of hot, so I aways do this along with warming the cups first. Unfortunatley from many years of dripolator experience, this is part and parcel of this type of system. My Breville and Ronson ones were the same.
