19 years and still going , never had maintenance, never had problem – Looking for an air con for my dad and realised how lucky we have been to have our DAIKIN last 19 years so far. It heats /cools up my 3 bedroom house ! Best air conditioner ever! Hope they still make them this good when I need another one.

Hasn't missed a beat – Installed in 2005, no services required. Cools a rumpus room area of 4 x 8m without any difficulty - doors are often opened to cool more of the house. Only used in extreme heat. Reliable and effective

Bad – Firstly, we have the FTXD80CV4 model, but I expect they are very similar. We got rid of our log fire place and opted for the Daikin. We were a bit disappointed that the system will only heat up 10 degrees more than the outside temperature, which, unless you have the system start at about 4 AM, makes for a very cool start to a winter's morning. In the summer, this system will freeze you if you want. I'm forever increasing the temperature and lowering the fan setting. I like the home leave setting. With a new extension being built, we're opting for a gas heater. Quiet. Sleek design. Difficult getting comfortable setting. Costly setup and running.

Good – Quality product with extremely useful operating functions. Functions well displayed on remote but may rubb off too easy. Could do with easier indoor mounting clips. Not sure if indoor unit could be made available in different colours perhaps? Installation fairly straight forward. Many useful functions well displayed on remote unit. Home mode and quiet modes a good idea. Very quiet running operation. Does not use a lot of power. Needs outdoor unit electrical isolation switch. Cover for outdoor pipework & cabling has fairly easily breakable holding plastic clips. Indoor unit could be slimmer. Mounting feet bend too easy, better if stronger metal used. LCD display can be slightly difficult to read.
