Trash. Avoid at all cost – Got one for my sons bedroom, and the picture quality is utter garbage, very pixelated, blurry, colour saturation is bad, and the sound is shockingly bad. The dicksmith sales person was very misleading when selling this television and told me it was the same quality as a samsung, they lied big time. And now they are being difficult in returning it. I wish i had researched this t.V. Before i brought it. Avoid at all costs!
Terrible junk tv – My brother peter has one , its a dick smith branded 32 inch tv and its pure utter garbage. Poor quality and the picture is very blurry and cant get a good picture. Its has junk speakers that sound like a megaphone and limited features. Avoid it at all costs
Broke down after 15 months – It keeps turning off. Was advised by DSE that it is an electrical fault but as its over 12 months old they will not repair or replace it. I tried to put this review on the DSE sight but my review was rejected, which explains why I never read anything bad about the tv. I am very disappoint and will never buy a DSE brand tv again. Was a great tv until it started to turn off all the time Kept turning off
Dicl Smith HD LCD 32" TV great value – I bought one of these back in May (2011) and it has performed very well for a sub $300 set. The picture quality, viewing angle, colour saturation, colour accuracy, reception, remote user friendliness are all quite acceptable. The only problem was that the "Favourites" for channels never worked from day one, which was not a feature that I wanted… Read more
anyway, so I never bothered taking it up with them. So far there are no dead, or permanently lit pixels, which is excellent for a cheap TV. Considering the price, and how thin the set is, the sound is acceptable, but not impressive. Picture quality, remote, reception, easy menus, overall appearance Sound could be better, "Favourites" failed.
Surprising Quality – Quite a few years ago my sister bought me a DSE (Dick Smith ) TV and I recently decided to replace it, not because it is broken but because it is not a digital TV. I decide to try Dick Smith again as the old TV was perfectly OK. Wow, I couldn't be happier. Not only were the staff very helpful but the ne Dick Smith TV's are great. Very happy and even happier with the price. Helpful staff
Best choice for a budget 81cm HD LCD TV – Bought this 81cm LCD TV for $278 in July 2011 (August 2011 - $248) after spending over 20mins in the store comparing it against the big brands. The picture, colour, clarity and contrast was just about good as all the big brands on display. After watching it at home for a while I noticed that strong colours became over-saturated at times and skin… Read more
tones were slightly pinkish. Adjusting down the RED in the colour temperature made skin tones more natural. Tuned in all digital stations with ease but later noticed occasional minor glitching. The HD channels look absolutely fantastic....especially the sports on ONE HD. In fact, you couldn't tell that it is only a 720P HD TV. Rated power is 135w (2 stars) which is slightly higher than the big brand TVs which are rated at or below 120w. Sound quality is clear and acceptable. Plenty of picture and sound adjustments to make anyone happy. The USB port is handy for playing your video (see Cons) and picture files though NOT conveniently accessible via the source/Input menu as you would expect. Reasonably good TV for the price but disappointed by the fact that the audio output did not work when using the HDMI or Component inputs so couldn't listen to my DVD via my stereo system. Unfortunately this is a factory design fault with this TV and you should take it back if you experience the same problem. (I ended up paying a bit more in the end and buying a much better Full HD Sanyo LCD TV) Lowest cost 81cm LCD. Good quality, Easy to use, Plenty of user adjustments, Good reception, Plays AVI and JPG files via USB port, HD channels look great, Channel and program summary is displayed when channel is changed. Perfect size for your average home unit Movie play back via USB is preset to full screen so picture is usually out of propertion, Faulty design: No sound output for HDMI and component connected devices such as DVD. Strong colours become somewhat over-saturated at times. Skin tones rather pinkish - not natural. Picture detail lost in dark scenes, No front or side AV connections for camera, games console etc, Instruction book is a bit vague, Bit slow at changing channels, Over-rated viewing angle - picture starts degrading at only 60 degrees
Great value for money – Nice clear picture, easy to set up. Can't beat it for value. Only complaint is that it only has 2 x A/V ports so have to change plugs regularly for multiple gaming consoles. Great value for money Only 2 x A/V ports so inconvenient if you own more than 2 gaming consoles.
