responsive every single time I had a question, which is extremely important to me when trusting someone with Captain. I never felt left wondering or uncertain about what was happening. They also ensured that all of the paperwork and requirements were handled well in advance, so there were no last minute scrambles or surprises. Teagan was absolutely lovely, she was so helpful and took good care of our little pup while being transported, she kept me updated with photos and communication. The Brisbane team explained everything to me in detail regarding my Pug and Cats documents, vet appointments and their crates making sure I understood my homework to make sure it's a team effort from all involved to ensure the animals have the best possible prep leading up to their flight to make sure the actual flight and all that goes with it was smooth and stress free, which it 100% was! I got constant updates and so many photos which made my heart so happy! My animals are safely in South Africa and they arrived relaxed and healthy. We flew our 12 year old Westie, Hamish, from Rome to Melbourne in March 2025. I wouldn't have had a clue what to do but Federica BlissPets in Rome was also very communicative and the process was easy for us.
Dogtainers took away the stress of what was a very concerning time for us as we wanted to make sure that Hamish was well looked after and could finish his 10 day quarantine without any problem.

Our adorable family Cavoodle travelled by plane with Dogtainers up from Sydney to Brisbane and back for the recent Christmas holiday . He arrived at both destinations relaxed and untroubled which meant he could enjoy a holiday with his family and not be penned up in a boarding kennel for the duration . I highly recommend Dogtainers. We had to independently arrange transport at the Pacific Island end of a Dogtainers pet move to Auckland, then Melbourne for 10 days quarantine. the essential veterinary health certificates had not been sent on the crates to Melbourne she very quickly emailed them to the quarantine facility, preventing a major problem. Emma was always prompt with communication by both email and WhatsApp. Without Dogtainers and Emma there would have been much more anxiety and complications for me.

In the end, Bernie flew safely from Hobart to Alice Springs, a few days after his initial booking, at no extra cost and no real problem for us. (I did have to pay $40 because I underestimated Bernie’s Xmas indulgences and he was 2 kg heavier than I thought.) This time we didn’t get an update from the kennels in Adelaide, but received a prompt response from Ping when I emailed for information. Laena-Leigh handled our initial quote with patience, warmth and professionalism. I was arranging the transport of an elderly relative’s bird, Tommy, from a rural property in Victoria to Perth and what could have been overwhelming was made easy thanks to her understanding and care.
Ping coordinated every detail efficiently, keeping me informed and checking in throughout the process. Her communication and attention to detail gave me complete peace of mind.
Kyle, who collected Tommy, went above and beyond. He recognised how worried my relative was and took the time to reassure her that Tommy was in good hands. His kindness, regular updates and pictures are very much appreciated.
Audrey provided timely updates and photos before Tommy’s flight, and Alex was just as attentive upon arrival in Perth, sending more updates and photos, ensuring quarantine went smoothly and caring for Tommy overnight before delivering him safely the next day.

Dogtainers helped me navigate the complicated process of transporting my dog Muki from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville in PNG to Canberra, via Port Moresby, Brisbane & Melbourne. significant staffing and leadership changes and she was able to ensure any miscommunications were followed up and resolved quickly. Emma also played an important liaison role while Muki was in transit from Port Moresby to Melbourne, and during his 10-day quarantine period in Melbourne. There was a long delay in Brisbane due to Border Force processing which prolonged Muki’s quarantine period in Melbourne (details for the delay were not provided). His quarantine experience in Melbourne was not a happy one. I was advised by the PEQ quarantine vet that Muki had “bitten” a quarantine staff member and had been branded “dangerous” accordingly. The PEQ vet did not provide any details of this interaction so I am unsure of the severity (or not) of Muki’s encounter with quarantine staff. I can only imagine he was extremely anxious and that PEQ staff, despite reassurance provided on their website, were not sufficiently experienced in handling stressed animals. Dogtainers recommended I employ an experienced dog handler to get Muki through his compliance checks. I paid an additional $1485 for the dog handler’s services and he completed the checks. I’m confident his animal communication skills were effective but found his human communications wanting. He did indicate that quarantine was a “tough environment” for Muki and that Muki “did not enjoy his (the dog handler’s) company” but he reported very little else. It would have been helpful to know what strategies worked/didn’t work, what behaviors I should watch out for and seek to remedy (if any). There was also a stuff up at Canberra airport on Muki’s arrival when Virgin Cargo mistook Muki (a dog travelling domestically from Melbourne) for a cat traveling internationally from NZ. I was made to wait for over 2 hours to await compliance checks Muki had already undergone, and I discovered Muki had been left on the tarmac during that time. Emma followed up with Virgin Cargo to precipitate Muki’s release. One thing that really concerned me during the transportation process was that RSPCA PNG did not transfer the bedding I provided in Muki’s crate from Buka to Port Moresby onward to BNE-MEL-CBR. I had deliberately included bedding that would have smelled of me - a mattress, towel and one of my t-shirts - in the crate that Muki travelled in from Buka to Port Moresby. This would have been comforting for Muki but was not transferred to Muki’s crate when he travelled to Australia. When I received him in Canberra he only had a scrap of cheap material in his crate. I’m surprised by this as it seems to indicate a lack of care and sensitivity to fundamental animal needs. My 5 star rating is for Dogtainers, not for RSPCA PNG or for PEQ. My RSPCA rating would be 3-4 stars and PEQ 2-3 stars. Happy to provide further information. I’d be very grateful for any feedback from Dogtainers, PEQ or RSPCA PNG. Best regards Fiona Crockford

everything had to be delayed because of a vet error in New Caledonia, Emma was very efficient in rearranging the booking at Quarantine, and subsequent flight booking from Melbourne to Brisbane. She gave us regular updates on the care of our cat while in Quarantine and showed a strong personal interest in our case. The discharge from quarantine and delivery to Brisbane was very smooth and our cat arrived just fine. I cannot recommend Dogtainers, and particularly Emma, more highly.
