DViCO TVIX R-2230 PVR

Love it, Great features for the price – Had mine for about 6 months now. It's a fantastic little unit for the price. Mainly use it for timer recording TV shows on the internal HDD, and using as a media player to play movies off an external USB drive. Also have it setup for WiFi which works a treat ! Must admit though, it is not used as the main PVR/Tuner in the house. So gets turned off and on only when needed. Any issues I've had with it only seem to arise when it's been left on for an extended period.

For your main PVR in the house, you probably should pay more $$$ and get something a bit more high-end. Tiny, Looks good. Great value for money, Lots of features. EPG is pretty poor. Has frozen on occasion (non-responsive). Sound has gone crackly on occasion too. These niggling things usually go away with a reboot.

Terrible – Sounded Great, But the reality is major headaches, I'm on to my 4th replacement in less than 10 months, and have only had the units less than 7 weeks, the rest of the time they have been away getting replaced etc etc, Faults included, fan stopping and over heating unit, not picking up Ch7, next unit not picking up Ch 7 or 9, next unit picking up all channels but very pixulated.... Had a look at all the forums on the internet and seems is very common with these models.

Service with the retailer, who lost my unit for a few months was very poor, Service with the importer was better BUT if every replacment unit you recieve is faulty, who cares about service.

I finally tried a friends PVR, simular design and worked perfectly.

Summary, Good idea but very bad quality. Slim design but nothing else EXTREMELY unrealible, 4 replacments and all faulty, waste of money.
