Electrolux EDC510E

Still going strong! – Bought this dryer when they were first released which was in 2002, I think. 20 years later it is still going strong (albeit with a bit of a squeak coming from somewhere...possibly the drive belt?). The matching washer failed after 10 years and the replacement one seems to be headed in the same direction, sadly. But this dryer just keeps going! I'd like something more efficient but for now all good. Rare to see appliances last so long these days!

Excellent – This product and its sister 8 liter front loading washing machine are our favorite white good/chore assistant purchases. Would definitely recommend. Electrolux servicing also highly recommended. Had dryer looked at when 12 months old and Electrolux replaced the machine as serviceman considered the time frame to get a new part too long. Sensor dry and time selector options. Condenser dryer does not require ducting. Good capacity. Large door opening makes it easy to remove clothes. Electrolux servicing a breeze...timely, efficient and considerate - has made me decide to always consider electrolux products when purchasing white goods. No option to forego anti wrinkle phase at end of each cycle therefore increasing electricity consumption. Water tray is located at bottom of machine making it awkward to empty when full. Required servicing when only 12 months old.
Excellent – We bought this dryer about 2 years ago as a replacement for an old washer/dryer combo and it has worked out very well. We don't have a huge amount of drying that needs to be done, but when we do, I find that it does the job quickly and efficiently. The settings are easy to understand and the very loud alarm when finished can be heard from anywhere in the house. The water tray is useful to water the outdoor plants. I have had no technical problems at all in the time we have owned it. Good capacity
OK – Won't be buying another Electrolux product again. I expected the machine to last at least 10 years. I think 4 years is pretty poor going. Worked well and was reliable for the first four years. I've had the machine for 4 years. It's just broken down and the Electrolux technician who came to look at it said it could cost up to $1,000 to fix - the controller has stopped working and he thinks the motor may also need replacing. Evidently the parts are expensive because this model was made in Germany.
Seems to guzzle electricity
Good – Practical as can put almost anywhere, does not have to be in laundry, but needs hard surface, minimal fogging up of windows except when extremely cold outside. Great size drum, removal of clothes relatively easy! Huge capacity, ease of use, great for allergy/asthma sufferers.... Excess lint is left on if washing machine is inferior in that way, takes a long time to dry ****does not remove cat hair etc. like a tumble dryer does!!!* Best to have full load as very thirsty on electricity (only 1.5 stars)..Water tray if not emptied frequently can be very heavy to remove!

Broke down after 4 years, bought in NZ and now using back in UK. The Ducati 9uf capacitor had gone, and have fitted a universal 9uf capacitor of ebay for £4 The Capcitor is needed to give the motor enough umph to turn. So if it is making a noise and sometimes not turning very well then this could be your problem.
