Disappointing product quality – only after 5 years of usage the E3 error appeared. means there is a power problem. Repairing costs 200 USD. I am based in Hong kong. Supposed to be made in Germany but the quality is very bad. Don't recommend buying this product. Service does not reply to my query. Show details
TERRIBLE QUALITY - DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX – The cooktop has been used once a week with all care taken. It won't work at all now. Electrolux has been very rude and condescending on the phone and misrepresented the applicable consumer law (which is not permitted). I would not recommend buying these due to the high price and poor customer service. Show details
Great while it lasted – I too found this to be a good product but the left half blew up after 5 years. Electrolux's offer to buy a replacement at a cheaper rate is not good enough considering the money paid. We have been without the left half of the cooktop for a year now because I get too annoyed thinking about having to pay extra for a product that wasn't up to standards in the first place.
Product Ok While It Worked But Died After 4.5 Years And Electrolux Won't Repair It – While it worked this was generally a good product. It was great having flexibility around the cooking method. Unfortunately the cooktop failed at 4.5 years which I consider to be unacceptable given the price we paid.
Don't waste your $$, buy a different brand!! – I like having the 2 different cooking styles available. Was happy while it worked, but only 5 years old, broke down, service guys came and said computer in it needs to be replaced and will cost $1500. Might as well buy new one. Wanted a second opinion by different technician... Called Electrolux and they couldn't get that right, every time I talk to them, they tell me a different story. Overall- very disappointed!!

Failure at 2.5 years – Bought this model new in July 2011 - had first power board failure during warranty, and then second powerboard failure six months oustide warranty. Advised by repairer to replace both induction power boards for the cost of $1559 including call out fee. Unit cost $1400. Clearly this product is not fit for purpose and would not recommend on repair… Read more

Electrolux cam to the party – Bought a factory refurbished unit and it failed spectacularly with a flash and a bang after 1 year and 11 months. I was aware that the warranty of a new one was 2 years so attempted to get it repaired under warranty. As Australian Consumer Law now states that the warranty should last as long as you would expect it to last bearing in mind the… Read more
original cost. Eg if a $1 pen fails to write after 6 months, that could be all that would be expected, but if you bought a $1500 kitchen appliance you would expect it to last at least a couple of years and maybe even up to 5 years. See Choice magazine for consumer rights information. Electrolux eventually agreed to repair my cook top as long as I paid to have it inspected. The inspection and subsequent technician visit to fit new parts cost me $180 which while I felt I shouldn't have to pay this, felt that it was a fairly good deal as the replacement parts cost as much as a new cook top at around $1600. I do hope this keeps going for a good many years, but I will update this forum if I have any more failures.
Functionally it works well, the conventional rings get very little use, but are useful for non magnetic pans such as glass casserole dishes. It seems quieter now than before the repair, but that may just be me. It is great having timers for each individual ring and doesn't take a lot of getting used to. Combination of Ceramic and Induction cooking. Individual independant timers Failed after less than 2 years
Electrical short after 2 1/2 yrs & not satisfactory options from customer support/care – Induction was great, purchased the pots and all went well until electrical short just out of the warranty period at 2 1/2 yrs. Technician came and advised replacement of all power boards at a cost of $1200... Also advised induction was the biggest call out he got and generally for electrical shorts in the boards and would not purchase one himself.… Read more
Customer Care/support although gave options.... Pay for parts or replacement cooktop purchase for $1100, gave little else as far as help. After only 2 1/2 yrs of very very minimal use (evening meals only (work full time) and lucky if every night of week) they were happy to say that that was an acceptable life period of a cook top. I certainly do not have the disposable income to pay for a cooktop every 2 years.. I am now without a cook top and have been for past 3 mths. If the manufactures are aware there is a higher chance of electrical faults on theses then WHY not advise when purchasing, WHY make the parts the cost of a new cook top. WHY continue to sell and not solve the problem. When working was fantastic, fast and efficient. As mentioned above cook top was great when working after electrical short I feel I have bee short changes in what I thought would be something that I would have for more than 2 years

Good product overall. Don't buy an extended warranty – We bought this cooktop because we really wanted an induction cooktop but had some great quality expensive pots and pans that were unsuitable for induction & this way we didn't have to get rid of those. End result we've barely used anything but the induction part to be honest. Induction is just brilliant. It's especially great for impatient people… Read more
like me who hate waiting for the pot to boil. It's overall been great however when it brokedown this year we had drama drama drama getting it repaired. More so because of the incredibly poor service of Horizon who we had an extended warranty with, it took us 7 weeks to get it fixed thats 7 weeks without a cooktop, with a great gaping whole in my kitchen. Electrolux dragged their feet a little bit too but at least when I complained they were straight onto it & within 24 hours I had results. I mustve called horizon 20-30 times to get things moving before they even got electrolux in to fix the problem & then they didn't even respond to my written complaint. End result buy the cooktop but don't buy an extended warranty from Horizon/good guys. The fault would've cost me a few hundred to get it fixed myself but it wouldn't have taken 7 weeks. Anyway very glad to have my cooktop back overall I do love it and would've given it 4 stars if not for that one fault and the difficulty it took me to get it fixed rapid boil rapid cool. Cooks food evenly & quickly. I'd probably buy all induction next time I barely use the ceramicas the induction is so good. Drama to get repaired the one time it did break down which was after 4 years of perfect trouble free copoking.
Oh, I so agree with you. I have the same cooktop, same seller, same insurance. Mine went after 3… Read more (+2 replies)
Excellent – great product, looks great, pay careful attention to instructions re cable and cabinet installation when installing! Induction cooktops are great but this gives you the best of both worlds. we have the EHD60100P model which is half ceramic and half induction. I think it is brilliant. Induction cooking is just amazing compared to ceramic/electric,… Read more
however we were amazed at how many of our pots and pans wouldnt work with induction so it was nice to have the combo and not have to buy a new set of pans. The induction cooktops are at the front and this is great as they heat up and cool down so quickly so the cooktop is safe for children putting their hands up onto the benchtop - ours is safe to touch in 30-60sec after taking boiling water off it. Beware that the power cable required to go to it has to be rated to 90C or sometiing (specifications are on the back of the actual cooktop so refer yoru electrician to that - ours got very confused about cables but i suspect he was just useless rather than the product being a problem!).
It is annoying as it senses anything touching the induction cooktops so if you rest anythign on them it beeps at you. i like putting hot things from the oven on the cooktop but the beeping is too annoying!
Also, the front strut of your cabinet has to be removed (see instructions - just make sure done before installation of yoru kitchen cabinets like the instructions say!).
Touch controls can require a bit of touching to get going but overall work well
