Electrolux EOC693

Further to my comments above Chef Electrolux EOC 693 – I have researched European and Australian ovens within past 6 weeks - in 2006 I paid $1249 for my oven & have decided the peeling paint on knobs, bezels and button is cosmetic as opposed to the performance of the oven which I cannot fault. Electrolux have offered to replace the parts at a staff discount.
Knobs & Bezels – Purchased oven in 2006 - knobs, temperature buttons & bezel surrounding knobs are painted. All peeled replaced by Chef at a cost - otherwise oven works. Considering heat is released from oven during cooking - surely some thought should have been given to more durable material for the knobs, bezels, buttons. The replacement took place in 2009. Replacement knobs have peeled again.
Not brilliant – The knobs look like metal but are in fact just painted plastic, and the paint peels within a few short months of use, revealing the cheap truth. The seal around the door falls away at the top of the oven and heat escapes, you have to manually adjust the seal every now and again. It seems to take a long time to get to temperature and I have to add ten or twenty minutes of cooking time to each recipie even if I use fan forced. We are upgrading our kitchen and an Electrolux oven will NOT be part of it. Initially it looked okay, and it was well priced apparently. Cheap and nasty knobs detract from the appearance in a really short period of time. It doesn't seal well and doesn't get hot easily.
Good – electrolux eoc693s is good overall. if it wasn't for the knobs i would it would look great in all modern kitchen. oven works well. keep temperature and all function are great. easy to keep clean. all the knobs temperature function and mode and timer button have peeled and i have have had to replace them several times (at no charge). electrolux said they haven't had this problem before. ?????
