Fix for door problem – The cook has been very happy with this oven. About 11 yrs old. But this heavy handed cook managed to overload the door so that it would then not close properly. What I found was that the hinges are fine, the hinge slot gets damaged. To fix this: Remove door by locking the little clips on the hinges. Then insert a flat file (or rect bar) into… Read more
the slot and lever up so that the lower edge of the slot comes out and the upper goes in. Go easy it dosnt need much. Retry the door. If it needs to come in further, repeat. Hope this helps
Rod's Door fix works a treat – WOW....Thanks Rod. After using a broom to prop up our Electrolux oven door for years and attempting to get the door sealing fixed, the $20 fix with the Bunnings magnets works a treat. Excellent result. Show details

You will only need 4 magnets stacked in 2 x 2 in the top corner of the door(or oven) just outside the line of the rubber seal. 2 magnets makes a stack 6mm high which is perfect. The magnets must be Ceramic Neodymium or they will be affected by the heat. Refer to photos. The magnets will cost you around $16.

once I solved the door lock problem it was perfect – After my very positive experience with the double oven version of this model, I bought a second hand example of this model for my partners' home. Got this one for $80 from another disgruntled original owner who could not keep the door shut and replaced it, I fixed the door problem again, and its been great for the last 10 months. Really, could not be happier with this unit. Show details
Has issues, but I really love it – I have the same issue with the door hinges, whereby the door doesn't close properly. I've used a couple of magnets which at least hold it closed. I wish Electrolux would address the issue there seems to be with these hinges. Also, LCD brightness on one of the panels wavers between hardly visible, to almost full brightness, for no apparent… Read more · 1
reason. This also seems a common problem with this model that others are having. On the whole I love the function of the oven though, and am thoroughly impressed with how evenly it cooks, and how quiet it is. My previous oven was very loud compared to this Electrolux.
Door magnets – Although the oven does have the door problem a big thanks goes to the legend from WA who come up with the magnet idea. I actually used 12 magnets( 1 row of 3 each side and 2 magnets thick) same magnets. Works great and has been going strong for a few months now. Better than dealing with the manufacturer and it's fixed!!! Good overall after magnet modification Door does not stay closed

Door won’t close properly – The same issue as everyone else. The door hinges are badly designed. I had my hinges bent by the service agent when the oven was under warranty but it’s only a temporary fix. The problem now is there’s a gap with the oven door and the edging on the oven kitchen cabinet is starting to come away due to the additional heat. Very poor design. Show details
Oven door no longer shuts really bad design – Changed oven light bulb, hard to get to and when I dropped the screw I accidentally leaned on the door, now it won’t close, I’m really disappointed to read that this has happened over and over again to this product. Show details
Very poor oven and ongoing problem with door – We invested heavily in Electrolux products oven, 900mm cooktop, range good and just recently a new 530lt fridge. Having been out of the country for 2 years and renting our property out I had forgotten about the oven. On receivng delivery of the fridge, that afternoon cooked again in the oven was immediately reminded of how poor it was. Door… Read more
continues to not close properly dispite having someone to look at it and the oven efficiency is just terrible. Everything takes twice as long and you have to set the temp up way higher than you should. I was very close to simply sending the fridge straight back out of protest of the brand and the oven. For a brand of this name to sell such poor products which clearly have a fundamental design floor in them and not do anything about it is terrible. Being European, I grew up with Electrolux, AEG and Zanussi products and the quality back then was great. Clearly not anymore !!

Door doesn't close, doesn't bake well at all – I am finally replacing my Electrolux oven which we bought new about 8 years ago. The door hasn't closed properly for years (we fashioned an external lock) but it's never baked evenly or given a decent result. We've changed some of the elements hoping that might help. Good money after bad Show details
Door not closing.............. yet another one! – Oven door not closing and I went to search for a solution and have found many disgruntled customers. I am concerned that I am reading that replacement of the part does not solve the problem. We have problems with numerous Electrolux products, bought because some of them are Australian made and had a great reputation. Each of the products, now only 2 years old have parts that have broken and are difficult/expensive to replace. Show details

Oven door open!?! – The main oven door won't close. Lifted the clips that retain the hinge and then closing the door half way let's you remove the door and hinges. Looks like the hinges are glued to the door. Dropping the oven door open has slightly bent the plate in the body the hinges attach to, the top out and the base in. You can slightly lever out the bottom of… Read more
the slot the hinges go into by 0.5mm and when you put the door and hinges back in (lock clips down) it will shut all the way. Levering can be done withe a solid screwdriver. A bit rough but cooks the food again. open the door gently to stop the hinges moving again.
Oven door won't close - obviously an issue based on previous comments; Elctrolus deny all knowledge – Oven door won't close (and hasn't done so for about a year) and so won't cook unless a chair is pushed up to hold it closed. It seems that this is a common problem based on above comments and yet Electrolux customer service ([name removed]) deny knowing that this is an issue. Cost to get a technician will be $145 plus $ 185 for the hinges. Very… Read more

Oven door won’t shut! – We bought our house with this oven already installed. The oven door won’t close! “Door is open” I have to close gently and hope for the best. By the looks of it this is everyone’s complaint. Can we purchase the hinges and try DYI or has anyone had great service and Electrolux is sending their technicians out to fix their fault at their cost Show details
Same issue with oven door – Same issue - oven door not closing. I emailed Electrolux- no response so I phoned and was told they weren't aware of any issues with oven doors not closing, as if! Was told as my oven is out of warranty they would send a technician at my cost. pathetic Electrolux Show details
Door doesn't stay closed – I have had my oven now for about 8 years I've had the door hinges replaced and the button replaced and it still doesn't close. I have to push and hold the door and slowly release and hope it stays closed otherwise I have to put a chair in front to keep closed My sister in law has the same oven and the same problems. It's a pain in the arse. Show details
Lemon – I will never understand why Electrolux didn't recall this product , Every review on this oven says the same about the door . I have now replaced this crap oven and would never consider Electrolux again , such a let down on the company's behalf. This used to be a quality and trusted product but I guess times have changed Show details

Oven door not closing properly – Hi we recently purchased a house (October 2016) with the Electrolux double oven and love it's features however same problem as above. The door won't close properly and it leaves a gap so doesn't bake properly. I will dig out the paper work for this appliance and I am hoping to get this issues rectified. I have 2 children under 4 years old so an oven is not only necessary but a fun activity too Show details
Door won't shut and can't cook!! – We have had a problem without oven door, it is not shutting properly and we have to use a chair in front of the oven to cook! A bracket or something inside is loose and won't allow oven door to close. We have called for repair and they want to charge $150 just for a call out, as this is a product fault going by the reviews I find this disgusting and won't be buying another Electrolux product. Contacted Customer Care... No response – Having read the review on here I submitted an email request to the Electrolux Customer Care (13th Feb 2017) very politely explaining that I had the same issue as many others and hope they could provide a solution. This is clearly a recall issue in my humble opinion. I have two young children and believe this is a safety risk, given the design of… Read more
our kitchen when the door falls open it's a serious issue for anyone in the kitchen.
Has anyone injured themselves on this appliance? I believe that would be quite an interesting conversation to be had with Electrolux, given the vast, widespread issues that we appear to all be having...
Not sure why some (or a few) people claim to be getting the issue resolved, yet most of us are being ignored.
Up until now I believed that it was worth paying more for Electrolux products (I have several) as;
(i) They would be safe
(ii) They would be reliable, and
(iii) They have good customer care. Maybe I was wrong.
Takes decades to earn a brand and only a one purchase to lose it....
Electrolux please help and provide a solution..... This product is extremely dangerous!

I have door problems too on my EOEE62AS so whats going on????? – Its interesting that this particular model has door problems. February 7th 2017 update: Electrolux don't admit to bad oven designs.
The door doesn't close properly not sure why. Electrolux don't seem to care not sure why not. Is it a badly design appliance? The oven looks good but doesn't work all that well? To get a technician to look at it and buy new hinges I might as well buy a new oven. Not an Electrolux that's for sure.
Door Problem - Surely a Consumer Affairs Issue? – After reading all the posts on here about the constant door issues caused by a design fault in the hinges, I contacted Electrolux customer care to see if they would help or support the cost of repair, however I was told that "Unfortunately damage can occur to the hinges over time if heavy objects are placed on the open door, as the door is not… Read more
designed to carry the load of heavy objects". I am curious as to how they would know whether I placed anything heavy on the door? Has everyone on here placed something heavy on the door? Come on Electrolux, think of your brand reputation and the experience of your consumers and stop clutching at straws. Surely Consumer Affairs would need to investigate this product and it's suitability (or lack of) for the Australian market.....That may need to be the next step in this poor experience with this product?
Disappointed – Door problem not stay closed. Handle holder crack had replaced 3 times by tech after purchased of 1 month. Now door not close properly but out of warranty. Temperature not even took long time to cook even simple pastry. Not cheap but not value for money. Never buy Electrolux products any more. Show details

surprised that a company like Electrolux did not do a recall on this. It makes my very sad that normal high quality brand has let me down to this extent. What are my consumer rights re the ACCC on this? Clearly it is a common and known fault for this model. It would appear to me and others on this forum that the product is not fit for purpose. Electrolux can you contact me please.

oven door failure – As with all of the complaints with this stove, the door is the problem. Have like other's had a technician attend ($200.00) just to tell us the door hinges are faulty, with a little bending they would be okay. Not so, nothing changed. Door still opening/not closing. This is obviously a major fault with the oven. Can understand why it has been… Read more

Door Not Closing Then Locked – At first it was the light globe that kept going. Then I noticed the door not closing properly which meant the kitchen really heated up every time I baked. After a while an error code F08 came on the screen… Read more
and I was able to turn it off but it still smells terrible as does the surrounding cupboard. NOW I can't open the door and have been told by a technician that something will have to be broken to get to it as the oven is attached to surrounding cupboards! We paid for an extended warranty and it is now 5 months out of warranty! No way will I get another Electrolux or recommend one to anyone! No wonder this model has been taken off the market! Why hasn't there been a product recall?

Exactly the same problem - door hinges – I was very happy with this oven initially, until the door hinges started to fail. I put up with it for a while (I can jam the oven door closed with a spatula), then called a technician. He removed the door and bent the hinges back, but advised this would be only a short term fix. It was; less than two months later the problem is back. Show details
DOOR NOT CLOSING – The appearance of the Oven EOEE62AS & Induction Hob EHD 6676P are spectacular, but the problem with the door seems to be permanent. I've had the technician out 3 times but still not fixed. So many meals ruined! One of the plates stopped working on the hob & I had to buy a whole new unit. These are not cheap items & should last longer. Show details

Door problems since new – We have the same problems as everyone else. The door won't close properly. The oven is now out of warranty. We have had the service guy out on 3 occasions with zero result. We went to a different service agent and was informed that Electrolux acknowledge that the door is to heavy for the hinges, but unable to offer a permanent fix.
