General and Service Call for Filter is expensive – Fridge is excellent for a Family, although the ongoing service call costs needs to be taken into consideration ($145 + $60 filter part every 12 months). So need to learn how to do it yourself. The filter impacts the cold water function and ice making function. Manual indicated change of filter every 12 months. Most fridges have the same… Read more

maintenance, so the manual needs to have more detail on how to do it yourself e.g diagrams. The water drain on the front door tends to get rust spots as its in contact with water and ice. Another material should have been used for this area. All in all, good value for money when taking into account other fridges in the market.

ongoing issues with the ice maker – My electrolux fridge is the worst appliance I have ever purchased. The product was purchased 9 years ago. At the time I spent over $3500 and expected a far superior product. I've had an issue with the ice maker over the last 5 years. Sometimes it work other times it doesn't. I've never had so many issues with a house hold appliance as I have… Read more

with this one. Its the first and last electrolux product I will ever spend my hard earned cash. Very disappointing. I have a friend with the same fridge with exactly the same problem. Obviously a manufacturing/design fault with the fridge. As there seem to be so many issues with the ice maker Electrolux should do the right thing by its customers and fix the unit once and for all free of charge.

A lemon – We have never had trouble with any of our appliances as much as this fridge. When we purchased it back in late 2011, we bought a supposedly high quality (and priced) product expecting reliability. The technicians have been out numerous times to replace water tubes, replace ice water paddle assembly, door alignment but mostly to do with the ice… Read more

maker.

Last week, we're told the ice making motor needs to be replaced and the cost will be around $690. And no doubt on top of that, add labour and the already paid $160 call out fee.

We are not paying another cent for this lemon...and looking at buying another fridge.

This fridge is only 6 years old....we would not have expected as much trouble.

At the same time, we also bought Miele ovens, dishwasher and stove top...we have had one call out for all of them combined in the same period.

Would never purchase Electrolux again or recommend to anyone.

Not good enough at all for the money you spend – Our fridge has just gone over the 5 year mark but we did pay to have extended warranty. lifespan. I have been in contact with Electrolux and have been given the choice that I can either buy another Electrolux fridge or a Westinghouse which I can get at a staff rate. Overall I am only saving $200 at the staff rate, so I am quite upset to say the least considering the amount of money I paid in the first place for what I considered would be an outstanding fridge and would last us a lot longer than 5 years.

Very disappointed to say the least.

ICE MAKER FAILED FOUR TIMES AND WAS REPLACED FOUR TIMES NOW THE ICE MAKER DRIVE MOTOR HAS SEIZED UP – Has keep consistent temperatures but has been costing us money since it ran out of warranty. We expected more reliability for the cost and reputation and now I have contacted Electrolux today to determine the cost of a new ice maker motor and i was informed they are considered obsolete and not available. This is not a reasonable expectation for a product.  Show details

3 years old, noisy compressor, ice maker replaced, 2 broken shelves, what is next? – Fridge is in kitchen family room and intermittent compressor noise drives anyone in the room crazy. Electrolux have agreed to replace the compressor, but not the fridge which has failed on many fronts in its short life. Like another reviewer below - 2 of the fridge door shelves have failed - the plastic cracked. Unimpressed. Ice- maker failed.… Read more

Electrolux do not respect the Australian consumer, nor Australian Consumer law. If they did, their response to us would be different. Did I mention that this fridge was a replacement under warranty for the first Electrolux fridge that completely died around 12 months old! When I say died, I mean the compressor failed and food went off. So in summary - a now 3 year old fridge has had the ice maker and 2 shelves replaced at the owners cost, and now has to be returned to Electrolux for the compressor to be replaced.

discovered it you cant buy the cheap plastic tray have to buy a complete assembly.

Look it keeps food cold but so do most fridges as this is what they are for, this was a premium priced unit that is nothing but cheap crappy parts that has cost us a small fortune and cant recommend any body else does, have a good look around you should find some good reviews but also be wary i noticed there are review saying how good they are and ordered online and picked up the same day from the good guys, well if you have a truck and 2 very strong people maybe but they are so false it is not funny shame on the good guys for pushing this.

Has been good but – Still working but just as warranty was over it stated making noises, dissapointed as it now is annoying! Sounds like a fan or something squeaking almost like dripping water (torture) but of course it's not in warranty that just stinks when you buy trusted brands and they are falling apart as soon as their warranty is over!!  Show details

Great fridge - fingers crossed it stays this way – I am surprised at some of the poor reviews and am now a little scared that my problems are about to start as my fridge is coming up to 2 years old. But thus far it has been fabulous. I have had no problems with it at all. Space is good and great flexibility for changing the shelves around. I love all the adjustable shelves in the freezer - I… Read more

bought a selection of freezer containers that just fit neatly on the shelves so I just pull out a container to rummage for what I want instead of having a jumble of items. The ice maker is great. Fortunately I realised before I bought the fridge that the filter could be a problem as my fridge is a tight fit and I didn't fancy having to move it. So I installed the filter in the cupboard next to the fridge - the water line ran through there anyway so the plumber just connected the filter into the cupboard side of the line and not the fridge line.Fingers crossed that the good news story continues.

Grew up with an electrolux fridge but times have changed – I purchsed this fridge in lieu of a GE and if only i knew what we were in for. We've had this fridge for just over 24months now, just outside warranty and spent around $3500 on something that probably wont last more than another year or two. As a fridge, it works well. Storage is good and provides many adjustable shelf positions. The icemaker… Read more

facility, although takes up a fair bit of room, is great as we're big lover of ice when it comes to drinks. First issue we found over 4months ago we've notice rust starting to form between the ice tray and fridge door. Yes we keep it free of water but this shouldnt happen as its Stainless Steel. The filter is outside the fridge so you need to move the fridge all the way out to get to it so it's a bit of a pain unless its installed somewhere else. Our Fisher&Paykel's filter was inside the fridge and this made life so easy. The vegetable draws are very flimsy, and quite awkward removing them for cleaning. The biggest defect so far and i've now also read others with the same problem, there are stress cracks through the back of the fridge. This made me pull out the shelves and i've located other cracks including the sides and bottom. We are just unlucky when it comes to warranties and things happeing just outside of them. What's happen to the way Electrolux fridges use to be built.

Riddled with Problems – Decided to leave feedback on this model, following the latest in a run of problems. We bought the appliance just over 3 years ago now. The seal around the door is failing but it could be to do with the way… Read more

the replacement doors were fitted as the doors are not level so has maybe not been hung properly.

We had an incident one day with the light that comes when the water dispenser is used stuck on. A call to Electrolux was going to result in a charge for a engineer to come out and fix the problem. I then found something hidden away in the manual about resetting the system but cutting the power for a number of minutes. This wasn't mentioned by the customer service rep on the phone. Their support dept obviously lacks basic troubleshooting assistance.

Now the vice dispenser has gone, it is not clearing the cubes out the setting tray but the solenoid still comes on flooding the compartment and spilling onto the shelves. A casual search on Google shows there appear to be numerous issues with the earlier icemakwrs throughout the fridge range. This is just another repair bill which one wouldn't expect to have within the first few years of service of such a high cost model. Great volume of storage, ice maker and water great when they work. Too many things going wrong too soon. Out of warranty repairs likely to be 1/5 to 1/4 of original cost price

I have requested a refund as I am not spending another day waiting for Electrolux to come and fix this awful fridge. Electrolux side by side fridge – I have had this fridge for over 4 years. The screen for the ice/water and temp etc malfunctioned in the second year and I had warranty so it was fixed (just a dirty cable). This again occurred about a year later out of warranty by then. Today I called for support re the temp changing from C to F of its own accord and was told there had to be something wrong with it and I would have to pay a technician to look at it. I thanked the useless lady and called another company that repairs fridges and they told me in under a minute that all I needed to do was press eco and left temp button together for a second and it would change back. Why electrolux does not include this in their instruction manual is beyond me. I will not be buying another electrolux product again due to the amount of issues and the extremely poor customer support. Energy Consumption is low Expensive and you do not get value for money.

I like it – Ive had this fridge just over a year and it has been fantastic. it's pretty for a start. appearance i fell in love with the swish brushed metal square edged exterior with door length handles. the doors were aligned after I adjusted the knob directed by the manual. the automatic dispenser light is useful at night and I have used the chilled… Read more

drinks alarm several times( as a regular timer ;) )

the ice maker/water dispenser:

the position is nice and my cups can fit under.

I find that ice tends to splatter a bit on the floor especially with the crushed ice setting.

The removable perforated metal spill tray does not appear to have high corrosion resistance so I sprayed mine with some rust protect from bunnings.

having not owned a water ice maker before I can say it is extremely convenient not having to load ice trays and fill bottles of water all the time.

there is ok space in the freezer but I opted for an additional bar freezer to store frozen leftovers.

Internals

it takes a small adjustment period after switching fridges, but the drawer and shelf layout have been adapted to. I got rid of the egg tray straight away and removed the wine cooler rack. one comment about the freezer drawers is that they tend to get unstuck from the drawer racks every now and then which is annoying but could be avoided by being careful to not pull upwards when opening the drawers.

the ice cream shelf was probably conveniently renamed from "cheap flimsy plastic excuse for a shelf in a spot where not much fits" it can store one of those fancy small tubs of ice cream but guess again if you get a regular sized tub.

noise:

At first I noticed the fridge sounds. occasionally the ice dispenser makes clacking noises depending on use at odd times during the night. but overall, no complaints.

I would buy this fridge again. Big, pretty, ice/water dispenser, pretty Dispenser evaporator tray not rust proof.

Great fridge – This is a really good looking fridge with a large capacity has filtered ice and water on hand which is so convenient. The stain less steel doesn't mark when you touch the doors which is great for children and adults alight. Light comes on when using the ice/water dispenser which i very handy at night. Great.....if it worked – We bought this fridge because of its energy saving design however we have had to replace the unit twice in less than a year because the first time there was water leaking from the freezer side handle and it began to rust and then the compressor was faulty. automatic ice maker shut off switch did not work, so ice was continuously being made and overflowed from the ice bucket. This part was recently replaced and it now seems to be working well and we like the unit. The retailer said they have never experienced this problem before.

I was considering getting a refund however other alternate units are different in dimensions. This unit seems to be shorter than most other comparative units however as we were renovating and built the cavity to fit the fridge, other models such as Bosch or Smeg don't fit so we are sort of stuck with this. Having said that, without the problems, its a good fridge and id be really happy with it but id be hesitant to recommend it given the problems we have had.

The customer service of Winning Appliances and Electrolux has been excellent. Energy Efficient, Design, Good Storage Value for money, seems unreliable
