Waste of Money – This thing doesn't clean! It's designed to make things dirtier. Leaves lint, doesn't remove soap suds properly (even when hardly filling it or using soap) it leaves a white residue on clothing and all-round worth about 1% of what was paid. Forget it!! Show details

Now I'm getting error messages and the lid locks, I am getting shocks from it when it goes into error mode. as well. I have to turn it off and unplug and it then it will start again.  Show details

2nd hand purchase - read below – I have just been reading up on this washing machine - after i bought it... Today i just bought myself a ewt606 6kg washer... Second hand.... After years of use i would have noticed some faults mechanically - this i could not find, yes it maybe a little noisy, but at least i can hear the machine doing its work... * clean out lint filter… Read more ·  2

ever 2nd or 3rd wash - guess what no lint left behind!!!

* used the correct washing powder **duo ultra concentrate** 1 scoop guess what no soap stains or marks

* clothes are actually washed and cleaned... Unlike some comment here saying clothes come out dirtier - these people must be fully stacking the tub till u cant fit no more - stupidest thing to do...

Tutt tutt - read the user manual and reassess your washing techniques !!! Its quite simple.

Oh before i finish up - this machine also had a cracked lid... **supa-glu** fixed it why are you people finding it so hard to maintain and operate a wonderful machine... 5 loads in one night - never missed a beat... User friendly efficient, does what any washing machine should do, if used correctly...

Excellent – Excellent machine - well worth buying. I was somewhat hesitant given the negative reviews, but now can only surmise that either people aren't following the instructions (which are lengthy) or else Electrolux have listened to customers' complaints and fixed the problems with the earlier models. Either way, I'm very pleased with my purchase I… Read more

purchased the EWT806SB a couple of weeks ago and haven't experienced any of the problems that others have on this site - maybe they've fixed the problems of the original EWT806SA model. The machine is quite, washes very well, adjustable spin speeds mean that I can wash my sheets on the normal cycle to give them a good wash and follow this with a slow spin, so that they don't crease. Everything comes out very clean - I got a large bucket of Radiant front loader powder with the machine. I just put the required amount into the drawer and that's it. Very quiet and smooth on the spin cycle, even when full of towels (I did make the delivery people use a spirit level to ensure that the machine was level). No lint on clothing, but plenty in the lint filter, where it should be. Cycles are slightly longer than in a traditional top loader, but all good things take time. Towels are beautifully soft (I used the recommended amount of Fluffy fabric softer). None so far.

Good – Every bit as good as my previous 3 machines. Great balance, no lint problem, easy to use once studied the instructions, different sound but not too noisy. I use the eco rinse cycle, minimum soap powder and auto water level. Would buy the same again, regardless of recall (sent repairman for 1/2 hr to fix) for possible small electrical problem. a good job. Love the 'favourite' function and the short beep when finished. Soak cycle has maximum time 1 hour and then goes into a wash using the same water. Lid is not flat so can't be used easily as a work surface.

Worst machine ever- not fit for purpose – I purchased this '8kg' machine for 'water eco properties' for almost $800 years ago. Since the first wash, it has been a disaster and certainly not fit for purpose. It has never cleaned the clothes properly, leaving scum and dirt, and I have to do only small loads and use the high water and deep rinse settings (more water, more energy), and… Read more

still often have to repeat the wash again to remove the scum and dirt. The lid locks randomly at the wrong times and I have to turn it off and on to try and free the lid again. The machine often beeps for no apparent reason. Shortly after purchase, I wrote to Electrolux and complained about the product, but never even had a reply from them!. I found out shortly thereafter that this dud product had been discontinued. So now It is displaying the PU sign, does not proceed with the spin cycle and does not drain at all. We have always owned Simpson/ Electrolux brands before this, but I will never ever purchase another Electrolux product again and will recommend to everyone I can to keep away from Electrolux!

"Ld" Error on display - Safety RECALL by Electrolux Lid Lock Error – My Electrolux top loader machine displayed Ld randomly beeped, or the "Lid Locked" indicator blinked. Then I read this: https://www.productsafety.gov.au/system/files/recall/TLW%20recall_aust.pdf I contacted Electrolux who have organised a technician to replace the lid lock FREE of CHARGE. clean. Noise level is acceptable although not as quiet as a front loader. I like the lint filter, that is hidden under the centre cap, of the impeller. It's easy to clean, once the 300mm long plastic piece is out. Took me a while to find this. (I should have read the manual).

do not waste your money – I've just gotten off the phone with Electrolux support line, who had no idea what the problem was with my mothers continuously beeping machine.. The only support I received was a recommendation that a technician comes out at a charge of $145 plus an additional charge for any extra parts! My mother is a pensioner who can NOT afford to pay this… Read more

fee to which Electrolux could waive if they really cared about there customers and believed in there own products

The support tech had no idea why this machine keeps continually beeping and no idea why it keeps flashing 3 different letters that are not in the manual she clearly was referring to

(she could hear it at first hand as I had the washing machine running whilst she was on the phone) and had no solution or advice to offer besides the fact she could email me the manual which couldn't even help her help me...

For a brand that prides itself on its name, ELECTROLUX should be ashamed of it's products and it's support line. What's even more disappointing is that my mother has always loved the brand and saved her money to purchase this crappy piece of metal you call a washing machine to which she relies heavily on.... and gets an absolute headache every time she switches it on..

Nothing even more worse than a brand that tries to skim more money out of their already struggling customers for THEIR faulty products

Also check the recalled list on their site as this model comes up as one with a whole bunch of others.

IN SUMMARY DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WASHING MACHINE!!

THIS WILL BE THE LAST ELECTROLUX PRODUCT WE PURCHASE IN THIS HOUSE!!!

biggest mistake ever – i got this thinking it was a good brand but wasn't i wrong. since i got mine just over 5 years ago i have had nothing but dramas with it. starting with the lid lock breaking. had that replaced a few times and i was told last time it broke it was not really needed and didn't need to be replaced. so now i constantly have that error on my machine,… Read more

that causes it to not spin my cloths because the lid lock is not there.

lint filter bag was replaced 3 weeks after buying

lid cracked within a few weeks. had that replace twice within 6 months. it cracked again but didn't worry about having that replaced again.

cloths come out with stuff on them causing more washing.

Water Aid is a Bad Idea - Does Not Rinse Properly – This 5 year old machine is the worst one I have ever owned as it leaves residue on the clothes which requires extra work to remove. The "lint filter" is a joke as it does absolutely nothing and takes ages to collect anything. Now it is playing up so I won't have it repaired as I have an excuse to get rid of it.

Machine is an absolute crap – Does not clean clothes. Clothes come out scum-streaked and dirty. So require as second wash or further hand washing, What a joke! Strongly recommend consumers to stay clear of Electrolux. You will use more water and energy double washing clothes. You will spend hours handwashing to clear scum streaked clothes. Still works but finally sending it to the scrap heap.

Stuck In Water Level Sensing Test Mode – I purchased this machine for the eco water saving as I was on tank water, that is no good, clothes came out worse at the end with lint all over so I use the deep rinse cycle and all okay but also defeated the purpose of saving water. More rubbish for the tip! – This washing machine cost us $687 four years ago. It was such a bad buy and we were stuck with it. Have put up with the forever beeping and displaying EF, clothes not washed properly, white powder marks on the clothes. Constantly resetting the stupid thing. Now it just wants to beep all the time. This model must be faulty and maybe should have a factory recall in our view. There is definitely something wrong with it.

Motor Burnt out after less than 1 year – We purchased this as it was one of the few large capacity Washing machines available at the time, other than F&P. We purchased this @ 2007-2008. There was also a $150 rebate (that we are still waiting on). The motor died within the initial 12 months, and the agent said that it was uneconomical to repair, & would be replaced. How good is that? Ok.… Read more

Waiting, waiting. We were then advised that the model was being changed over to Electrolux, & there were delays of nearly 3 months. We were constantly washing my kids clothes at the laundromats, as well as everything else. I worked out we were out of pocket at least $400-500 in these expenses. Electrolux, would not accept any liability for us being out of pocket, but was replaced,

Then @ 1 year later, the replacement was making some strange noises. It turns out there was a pair of my daughters underpants stuck internally. How that happened, I do not know, but the slit at the top was @ 3mm. Just recently water has been leaking out. I changed the washer, but the unit is corroding as a result. Also it'[s now making a banging noise. One of the arms is worn, but I have to buy a set of 4?

And I later bought an Electolux dryer that failed.

WORST MACHINE EVER!!! – I have had this very expensive machine for about 2 years. I have had 2 control panels changed over, and I still get the same error running along the lines of "Machine cannot run, select drain and spin and call a technician." I have to turn it off and start from scratch again or keep pressing the start button until it goes (if I'm lucky.) After… Read more

the first 2 weeks of ownership, I was OVER the lint, but Electrolux quickly had a technician fit a secondary lint filter kit, that helped, marginally. It didn't help with the tangling up of clothing, or with getting the clothes clean (not very), or with detergent sludge being left on clothing (so often, especially with powder!) I have to pre- dissolve washing powder or use liquid. And yes, I use front loader HE liquid or powder as specified in the manual.

After about 6 weeks of ownership, I started noticing black flecks throughout my washing. You guessed it, MOULD/SCUM! I religiously did a drum clean every week from the start, and do not overdose with detergent or use softener. (I generally use less than is recommended.) I started adding 1 litre of vinegar with a bag of bi carb soda to the drum clean and this helps for about the next 3 days before I get mould through the clothes again. I also leave the lid up when not in use to allow the drum to dry and I always wash on warm.

I called Electrolux and they said it must be my fault and that there was nothing they were willing to do. So I called a local technician who said this model is the worst machine he has come across. He did suggest running a cup of dishwasher powder through the machine on hottest wash, pause it before it pumps out and soak overnight. You would not believe the amount of black paper- like mould that comes away when I do this, so I now alternate with vinegar and bi carb soak one week and dishwasher powder the next.

My family consists of 2 kids and 2 adult office workers so it's not like many clothes are heavily soiled, and those that are, I soak and rinse first.

So now, after all this time I have saved enough to purchase a new machine and will NEVER touch an Electrolux product again.

I can not wash whites as the sludge from the pipes/interior bowl go through my wash. The bowl takes forever to fill up and I am sure is causing damage/wear and tear to our instantaneous gas hot water system as it cuts on and off about 10 times while filling, not even enough time to get the hot water from the HWS to the machine. I have been telling anyone who will listen what a disgraceful (and expensive) product this is. Electrolux certainly didn't road test this one before putting it to market, perhaps they should stick to vacuum cleaners.

Worst. Product. Ever – I'm reluctant to add our complaints to the long series of poor reviews for this Electrolux product, but we've found the EWT806 the most problematic device we've ever owned.
