So disappointed – I was so excited to receive my Tagine as a Mother’s Day gift last year. I have used it less than a dozen times over the year. I prepared a meal this evening only to discover my base has a hairline crack in it that allowed all of the liquid to seep out. I have used it exactly as the manufactures instructions. So disappointed. I haven’t got the receipt and very unlikely they will refund or swap it for a new one.. I will try. Show details
Base cracked after using it approx. 10 times – I bought this targine for my partner and she loves it. When cooking with it yesterday she heard it crack and the base now has a very fine crack in it that allows leakage. I will be contacting the company as they are supposed to have a 10 year guarantee. Cracked base, so disappointed. Will not purchase again – I bought this tagine and loved it - would cook a tagine meal at least once a week. One day I pulled it out to use and noticed the base had a crack right through it. So disappointed. I see many others have had this same problem. I plan to contact the company to see if the 10 year guarantee they offer stands true. Show details
Worse customer service ever! – My tajine had a problem from the beginning, it spattered lots of water out of the tajine when cooking. I tried with less food in it, I tried on a different pit, heat diffuser, lowest heat, problem stayed. So I contacted the customer service and they replied that they knew the problem with that serie (55.32) and they made changes to the design so… Read more
that the new ones (56.32) won't have the same problem. Nevertheless, it was just a pity for me and they could do nothing for me!
Not a bad product, after sales service or advice non existant – We own the Tagine and an expensive stew pot, after some years of careful usage the stew pot developed a fine crack in the base. A month ago we contacted the Australia distributor by email and received no response, we then contacted the parent company by email still with the same result. Buying this brand is for crackpots. It was good - until it cracked – I also loved this Tajine for several years, used as directed, i.e. never heated on cooktop empty or on really high heat and it just cracked after use in the oven at 150C. Never used in oven above this temp.
People use heat diffuser !!! – People, if you are using your Emile Henry Tagine on the gas stove you MUST use heat diffuser - personally i just went and bought cast iron BBQ breakfast plate from ALDI for 7 dollars. I had this tagine for over 4 years now and we use it almost every week, no issue at all. In addition to the above, never ever heat an empty tagine, at the least put some olive or vegi oil.
Cracked in first use – Was thrilled with this as a gift, and made sure I followed all the instructions of preparing it for use and in using it. It cracked on the first use. Right through the base. I am really disappointed. It was something I had wanted for awhile and had spent an age looking for recipes to use and had a collection we were going to try .... sadly not any… Read more
more. Looks stunning, heavy, and love that it is supposed to be able to be used on stove top, oven, bbq, diswasher ... Cracked on first use.
Love my Tangine! – I recently pruchaed the large Emile Henry Tangine and I must say I cannot stop using it!! I love it! We've had 8 tangines meals so far and every one of them have been delicious - I just love cooking food in it. I have been very careful however to use very low heat at the start of the cooking process and then, slowly increase the temperature. I never use high heat. Tangine addict!
cracked on 4th use – I bought the largest size in t e red color I was excited. I remember being veery careful about preparing it in the mammer they specified, which i dont remember now but it was something about simmering water and oil and some rice i think. anyway i ahve used it 4 times over the space of 2 years and it has a huge crack on the base so it is no useless. I am not happy and will try to find out how to return it
We are in exactly the same position. Have you had any luck in finding out how to return it. Kind regards beljohn
Tagine rocks! – This tagine is ceramic, contains no metal and works like a dream. It originates from France and is hand-crafted showing crafts persons unique stamp. Great for gas or electgric cooktop, oven or bbq. I sit it on top of my slow combustion stove and slow cook. Can put in oven directly from fridge and vice-versa. I have made delicious… Read more

Not overly impressed – I did exactly as directed in the care instructions by heating milk in it when I first got it yet still everything seems to stick to the middle of it... to tell you the truth I am sorry I bought it. I don't know if all Tagines are like this but I would assume not considering how popular they are. The look of it & it was a well know brand with a good reputation It is just not very functional as everything seems to stick to the middle of it.
The perfect meal... every time! – Follow the ever so easy instructions and be guaranteed a restaurant style perfect meal every time, without any fuss. Emile's Moroccan magic makes for 'morish' meals! Perfect results every time.
