Would not recommend escape Travel Norwood – During early months of 2018 3 of us booked a 5 week trip to Spain and Portugal. We did our booking, in Norwood. accommodation place....We tried and tried until eventually someone from one of the apartments in the building answered us and let us in, however, there was no one around to see us to our apartment nor to give us the keys.

We eventually had a phone number given to us....office closed at 2.30pm.

You need to come into the Barcelona city and collect the key, no one else will bring it to you.

Can you imagine, we have just travelled for at least 17 hours don’t know our way around.

We got in touch with Agent in Norwood and requested she help us get help.. nothing can be done she says...except find the place and pick up the keys. So much for our Agent, who bragged about having been to Spain at least 40 times...

We were originally told we could not get into the accommodation before 2 pm. By now it was almost 4pm, and 3 very tired people.

Accommodation all paid for months in advance.

What was there to do, we got ourselves another taxi, after walking all the little in and out lanes, with all our luggage, and found another place to stay. Oh this place was great. Thank you to the Salles Hotel and their wonderful staff.

We kept in touch with Agent in Norwood from Spain, requesting our money back, from the CUITAT VELLA APARTMENTS.

No luck while we were away, we kept asking on our return, and it is now 5 months since our return and we still do not have our refund.

We also booked several bus trips, through Spain and Portugal arranged with our Agent in Norwood. We enjoyed most of the trips, however, we were never advised that we could get off at certain locations and then travel by ourselves for personal reasons. This too cost us extra money, as we had made arrangements to return to Madrid 3 times. Had we been told about being able to leave the bus when convenient it would have made things so much easier and far less expensive and so much more pleasant

Worst experience ever – I got robbed off, still waiting for a refund, never being called by a manager, I won't ever travel again with them. Never recommend them, here is my number 07553113678. I am sure none will call me, they don't care about their reputation.

Best adventure I've had in years – Trip to Myanmar, 2017. Long boats, open air trucks, local trains, air conditioned buses, local ferry service, Pandaw trip, budah's , temples, markets galore. . beds. One tour we had pre booked was on the wrong day. No information re parking etc just take your money. I have spent many thousands of dollars with the Clifford Gardens store. The male travel agent always makes promises to phone or email but never receive them. Back to New Zealand trip we got stuck in Queenstown for 1 night and had to pay extra for the night upon arriving back in in Toowoomba. I asked the male travel travel agent about making a claim on our travel insurance. He photocopied the documents and said to me that he would fix up the claim for me Guess What same old story nothing was done. I phoned Cover More re insurance claim nothing received. They were very helpful with the claim. Escape Travel has lost another customer.

Price guarantee product...but wait bet they didn’t tell you about the charges, – I recently booked flights to Europe, taking out the $39 price guarantee. Incidentally it’s up to you to check fares as they won’t do it. Within a fortnight I found my flights on Webjet $115.05 cheaper. Contacted Escape travel To make a claim. entitled to a $12.95 refund. Apparently they take their $39 off the claim then they charge a ticketing fee. The Webjet fare included a $21.95 price guarantee charge which is optional but Escape travel include this in their calculations. I'm told that the price guarantee people only look at the BIG total and can’t take anything off. Despite pointing out the purchase of this product is optional just like it was purchasing it from them them they declined me.

to Flight Centre. Wow! What a difference it made! Escape Travel was quick and effective: in less than half an hour we got offered different choices, all of them displayed great prices for four travelers, and those flights are multi-city during a busy period. We requested to travel with Qantas/Lan which are part of one-world and both good airlines (they are not budget airlines, I do not travel internatioanally with budget airlines), because those are the most reliable and fastest, and we were ready to pay for it, but the price was fabulous, we didn't expect it to be so affordable because our flighs have usually been more expensive in the past, and going to similar routes and for even shorter distances. Fortunately, buying our tickets through Escape Travel has been hassle-free and the follow-up has also been great since we had to make some minor changes. Now, I remember why I favoured Escape Travel in the past, and they have me back! We are counting the days for our trip! Thanks agains Escape Travel!

enough people booked (but was assured verbally that it would). Sounds stupid? It was. Contiki cancelled the booking because not enough people booked, our flights changed anyway so if contiki had of gone ahead our flights booked wouldn't have fitted the contiki. Cancelled flights and have to pay $3,300 for flights we can't take to a holiday thats not happening. Travel agent took commission on this. Awful. Also advised us to use finance company and booked our three deposits on one persons finance and to get approved by finance company for the other two parties "later and work it out between us" assuring we had jobs so we'd be fine to get approved . We didnt get approved and were left with needing to pay holiday within a 3-4 months rather than 12 months.

They don’t price match! – Even though it says on their website that they will price match every single time I tried they didn’t! Always tried to charge at least $80 more than my quote saying it’s more reliable to book with them and thus far it’s more expensive.

Flight Center office (Broadway Shopping Center, formerly Escape Travel Broadway Center Sydney NSW, which has now closed down) but with no success in gaining an appropriate response from neither the original consultant nor the manager of that office to whether I can or cannot re-schedule. It has been left entirely up to me day after day, to contact them by phone. This level of poor and unprofessional customer service has extended for the past five days and I still have no answer. It seems that once they had grabbed hold of my money, they then lost interest in me entirely. I now need my tickets and accommodation documents which should have been issued weeks ago, to be issued ASAP.

Escape to match them. The travel agent said she would follow this up and did not know how this could happen. We had subsequent parts of the trip to book and asked them to provide pricing for this part of our trip numerous phone calls later, and many unmet promises from Escape the prices available further flights on the net went up and we had to book these at a higher price as we still had not received pricing for what we asked for. Escape Aspley constantly displayed poor product knowledge about our trip to the States. We later found out that our agent that we had dealt with had been sacked. We had to go to Escape at Chermside to get our tickets issued which had the wrong details and spelling on the tickets. When we complained to Escape head office and the Aspley manager rang back after two days and left a message which she subsequently followed up with an email 30 minutes later advising that she could not wait any longer for me to return her phone call and had come in especially to give me a call and how I had inconvenienced her day for not returning her call in a 10 minute time frame.

Fortunately they went out of their way to contact Escape Travel and arrangements were made to go to another hotel. This was a bit frustrating and wasted the best part of a day. Imagine our disappointment when we traveled onto Ho Chi Minh city only to find once again our hotel fully booked but for not us. This time the hotel could not contact Escape Travel. Again, with no internet contact available from Escape Travel and only an Australian phone number that we cannot ring. The Escape Travel Itinerary had conformation numbers that could not be tracked and there was no useful information to help us contact Escape Travel. We were left to walk the streets in a foreign city and find our own accommodation. When we arrived back in Australia we tried to resolve these issues with Escape Travel but the final word from them was to send me the small print regarding their obligation to us :-

"We act as an agent for, and sell various travel related products as agent on behalf of, numerous transport, accommodation and other service providers, such as airlines, coach, rail and cruise line operators, as well as all of our wholesalers. Any services we provide to you are collateral to that agency relationship. Our obligation to you is to (and you expressly authorise us to) make travel bookings on your behalf and to arrange relevant contracts between you and travel service providers. We exercise care in the selection of reputable service providers, but we are not ourselves a provider of travel services and have no control over, or liability for, the services provided by third parties."

We will never use Escape Travel again as they have taken no responsibility for the total failure and mismanagement of our holiday. We would suggest you stay well away from Escape Travel.

Monday (paid in full on Thursday) but I will need to give them the consent to pay the airplane to Fiji then and there. So, they want me to pay for the plain without knowing if the hotel will accept us??? Does this make any sense to anyone?

So, even if payed for your trip, you have no guarantee that the vacation will happen for sure. This is for me Escape Travel experience. Do you think any senior manager answered to my complaint? No. Do you think that anyone in that company tried to make it up to us (4 people vacation). No again.

They operate without any care for repercussions. We are just some puppets with wallets wide open for them to take advantage of.

So, this is it. Not a pleasant experience.

Now I have since in the last 2 weeks received 2 emails which had lower prices! I paid $800 more on flights!!! I am very annoyed and will never use them again.

The consultant did spend alot of time going backwards and forwards to get me the pricing but I initially did the ground work and got them to match a price that was lower already by someone else; she first told me they couldn't match it because she didn't know the company herself but then I found out they could so pushed for it.

Eventually the price was honoured for both the hotel & flights but now they are both less and I have already paid in full and they are cheaper so I have nothing to stand on. Very annoyed.

Our recent email was about chasing up visa's & we were told that the cruise company sorts that out. We also had to chase her about payment dates. Please note we are NOT serial complainers! As a result, our additional bookings for airfares home & accommodation etc have been placed with the private agent. An amount of approximately $10,000. With a booking of this much money I cannot believe the lack of service & the feeling of 'I don't care'. When we were initially unhappy about having to chase everything I asked I was told that I could not take our booking to another Escape agency & we could not move the cruise booking somewhere else. The trouble is that the commission would be sizable & this agency wouldn't want to part with it but we are just not being looked after. Needless to say we would never use this company again & yes we are frequent travellers! Poor work Escape!!!!

Moving from Flight Centre to a new Travel Agent – After $80,000 over 6 years with Flight Centre for Flights /Tours /Train travels and Hotel bookings my contact has left and I am looking for a new Travel Agency to help with our travel to Western Europe this Xmas and Greenland/Norway later in 2019. So if they rip you off $10,000 the store gets $9000 and they get $1000 to themselves. There wage is really low so that’s why they try and rip people off. Disgusting company. Always book online and do your own research. They don’t know what they are talking about and all the info is online.

more safer and convenient, so they did MONTHS AND MONTHS in advance and booked a flight via China Air. They travel frequently back to Manila to visit our family and always book their flights online, THEY have never ever had issues. BUT on the night of their travel, my family was not able to board the flight as their was no E-ticket issued. A receipt was provided, a booking reference was provided but NO E-TICKET!

This trip was no ordinary trip for them either, my family purposely booked this flight on this date to attend a wedding 2 days after arrival, ALSO my grandmothers brother passed a week ago, and our family overseas was waiting for their arrival before the burial. Arriving in Manila on the 14th of December was perfect.

When my grandmother called me to say they weren't able to board, i tried my very best to calm her down and told her not to worry, it is not your fault, the travel agency will fix it, we will go there tomorrow morning and they will rebook, there is time.

The next day my family went to Escape travel in Craigieburn and explained what has unfolded at the airport. no remorse what so ever from the agents, except a simply sorry and making them wait long period of time while they look at their computer and go on the phones.

To make it worse, when my uncle asked for an explanation, the agent reply was 'computer error' and 'its weird, this has never happened before.'

After sometime, the agent finally advised that they are able to go on the Brunei Flight at 1pm but they are waiting for confirmation with the airline. 30 minutes later, another disappointing news, the flight is fully booked.

The agent then advised, at this stage there are no available flights today, the best they can do is tomorrow morning with QANTAS. To make it worse, the agent made a comment saying 'you know this is very hard for us, the flights are coming up to be $8,000'. Are you kidding, we don't care if it is A million dollars, your company stuffed up, so fix it!

First of all, where is the compassion, the remorse and empathy?!?! Aren't you supposed to go above and beyond for your customer especially at times like this?

We are talking about 4 people who were excited to see someone get married, to moarn with ur family and most importantly to relax and have a great time for christmas. I understand that 'computer and human error' does happen but the way your agents responded to my family, they felt like you just wanted to get rid of them and making up any excuse to get away with it.

How about their schedules in Manila? It is also screwed now because of your agency. How are you going to take back the 2 days they are going to lose that they are meant to spend with loved ones because of your incompentence?1?!

If this 'computer error' is the first time it happened to your agency, well this is the very first time it ever happened to US and it will never happen again because this is the first and last we will ever book with you.

***UPDATE*** You just sent my family to a 1:30PM flight, only to call them when they are almost at the airport to say SORRY that flight is actually cancelled?!?!?!?!?! What is wrong with your company!

realised that our 12 year old daughter had been left off the booking all together. WE had to chase this up to be corrected and despite assurances that they had fixed this it resulted in THREE separate booking being setup as opposed to one. The agent told us it was the airlines fault but not long after that WE also found that they had one of our female travelers listed as a male which was a concern and would of resulted us not being allowed on the plane if WE didn't find this error. We were assured by the agent that they had put comments in the system for the airline to have our 12 year old seated with us as opposed to 9 rows away but when we got to Hawaii we were told that the travel agents do this all the time and lie to customers and blame the airlines. Thankfully the airline helped us out after the lies from the staff at Tuggerah. When we got to our first accommodation location we were told that we had 2 rooms booked with 3 single beds in each, despite us having a party of 7.

We werter promised ( and my wife confirmed this twice before we left with [name removed] from Tuggerah) that our tour with Warner Bros in LA was a VIP tour and was only available throughout travel agents. My son was only looking forward to this tour for the whole trip. When we got to Warner Bros we were told that there is no such thing as the tour that [name removed] booked and WE paid for. In fact we found out that we paid an extra $50 per person more then we needed to due to this lie. We almost missed the tour because we had to sort out the mess at the WB desk. We have confirmed in writing that WB NEVER offer the tour that [name removed] booked for us.

The amount of times we had to go and get things corrected on our bookiung made our trip stressful and we would DEFINITELY NEVER use or recommend this company again, especially the Tuggerah store. Not once did anyone apologise for there continued stuff ups and if we weren't on our game and found all of their mistakes then it would have been an absolute disaster. As it is we feel ripped off by this company. We have told as many people as we can about Tuggerah and their staff and will continue to do so. LIARS AND INCOMPETENCY at its highest level. We have contacted head office and are waiting a reply- not holding our breath!!!!

Everything I asked for was achieved at a great price. Hassle Free holiday – Bali holiday booked via Escape Travel in Camberwell by Kelly. She was amazing and helped with everything from flights to accommodation to creating a great package that was enjoyed by the whole family. time. I did not realise initially that Escape is part of the Flight Centre Group. I undertook my own research on flights and prices and gave Escape the preferred dates. They came back and said my preferred return flight involved a 13-hour layover in Auckland, commenting that ‘I’m not sure if this matters to you’. For an agent to even contemplate that a 13-hour airport layover mightn’t matter to a customer immediately sent alarm bells ringing. I checked the flight times again on the carrier’s website and the layover was indeed three hours, not 13. I put this to Escape who responded as follows: ‘We do have that flight available in our system; however, there are no seats left in the lower booking class, so you're looking at quite a large increase in price to travel on that date with those times.’ I checked again and found that the price for my preferred flight dates was the cheapest offered and that there were plenty of seats available. Escape also suggested using a non-partner airline for an internal flight in the US on the basis that it was about $30.00 cheaper, even though it arrived in New York about 4.00am – no thanks. It would seem that Escape will only offer a customer those options from which it will derive the greatest profit. It was at this stage that I decided to book the flights online through the carrier’s website, which I did. This also gave me the opportunity to choose seats. I then emailed Escape, politely advising them of my action and that having booked the flights, would also arrange our own accommodation. They did not reply.

Extremely poor travel arrangements – I booked a Europe tour with Euro rail pass, the booking was done in the store. The main problem was some of the hotels booked for us at least 3 were shocking, not expected in comparison with the standard payed for. A mistake in the itinerary left us with no hotel reservation on arrival at a new destination, it cost me an additional night accommodation.

Our Euro rail pass could not be used on one connection due to poor advice and we had to find alternative travel at our own cost. Both the agent and insurance (sold at the store as Escape travel Insurance) won't compensate for the losses.

Extremely difficult and it would take days to get in touch with agent from overseas. Once a complaint has been lodged with the franchise very little if not nothing has been offered other than we are investigating the travel was completed two and half months ago.

Worst worst worst – Escape travels never ever again. I booked ticket from them and asked them to do price match for ticket from Sydney to Ahmedbad / India. She checked priced on line and we have booked the ticket. The website she matched price had transit hours at Abudhabi for 8 hour and 2 hours but she told me i can't have the flight back with 2 hours wait on way… Read more

back to Sydney so she gave me flight which has 10HOURS wait at Abudhabi. I am going in emergency to see family member who is sick due to cancer.

Also we have Indian passport with Australian visa so i asked her if i can ask some questions about transit at abu dhabi. She said i have to call Indian or Abudhabi embassy. I don't have time to do that. Than i ask her can we select seat she told me she can not do it i have to do it by my self and also told me if i select seat than i have to pay approx $35 each flight for each person.

Reallyyyyyyyyyy.

I travelled with flight centre, mantra travel before and never had issues like this.

I called your customer service long wait no answer.

I am regreting my decision for buying something for my next week flight as i am so stress about if we can travel together or not and will i need visa or not as i called etihad airways they said i need to contact you guys for any help and even i tried to select seat online it says i need to contact you guys.

So depressed not only for my family member who is sick but for my flight or bow i will travel.

I really hate this.

Promise the world .. deliver little – I booked a return airfare Melbourne to Jakarta today and was told the current fare was $896 despite seeing it for $774 one day earlier. I was told if I booked there was a 60 day price match guarantee so if I could find it online they would match the price. When I got home I looked it up again and found the same flights on several internet sites… Read more

for $791. I tried phoning the agent and emailing the agent and she refuses to take my call and does not reply to emails. So much for price guarantee, Do not believe what they say, Worse than car sales people.

Still waiting for my response and price match but think I will be waiting forever.

Escape travel,N/Lakes told them the story, next thing she was on a flight to Melbourne, rented a car & drove to Geelong hospital,she stayed the night,then on my release,she contacted Escape Travel N/L,they promptly extended

our original flights, & got our daughter on the same flight. Then the young lady at Escape rang me to ask if everything was ok. What could I say. My wife and I are going again December this year------naturally with Escape Travel.

her response.... "sorry I am at training today and limited to help.....wait....wait....BUT we can change the flights and it will be costly.

All we asked for was a comment like......I am sorry to hear that there was an error in the booking, I will look into it when I am back in office and see how we can resolve. Is this basic service too much to ask for??

October 1st 2017 Update: Worse and most dishonest Customer Service Ever.

It goes from Bad to worse with Escape Travel Chadstone. I took [name removed] up from escape travel social media teams. He suggested that the team manager from Chadstone would contact me and I wish she did not!!

She called me and just had a poor attitude from the start. Even though I provided her with written confirmation of what we requested, her response was ..." sorry but you should have checked the documents we provided you with and you ultimately accepted it. I find it very strange that this has happened and if you want to rectify it, it will costs $1000!!"

So Accusing our family of being dishonest. We feel so insulted!

Whilst we should have picked up on the error, the fact remains she would not take any responsibility for the mistake on their side.

We Booked an escape holiday to Africa and it ran smoothly from the 1st consultation until we returned. The host,guide and driver were excellent.
