issues keeping things frozen when running off the car dual battery system. Periodically goes away for long weekends camping and is great in the Darwin tropical temperatures. It also goes under the cast deck in my boat for up to 4-5 days as well getting hammered about. Highly recommend. Power usage is line with manufacturer specs and not excessive for it's size. I generally run the fridge 2 degrees lower than the digital readout to achieve the internal temperatures desired.

Unreliable – I bought mine 2 and a half years ago but have only used it for 4 weeks in total as it is used with our camper trailer and we spend more time away in a caravan with which we take a 40 liter engel . November 18th 2019 Update: Follow on for Glacier 75

I had dropped the refrigerator into Everkool in Caloundra and they informed me today that it had an internal gas leak. To fix it they were going to take the baskets out and put a new evaporator on the inside of fridge making the baskets unusable and at a cost of $300. They would except no responsibility even though it was explained to them that an internal leak is a fault not caused by the customer.

November 22nd 2019 Update: Unreliable

Fridge is only 2 and a half years old has done 2 trips 1for a week and another to Fraser for 2 weeks Failed on both occasions luckily we were off the Island in Hervey Bay when it failed the second time so we had access to fresh food. Have taken it to Evekool for assessment . Glad I wasnt on a big trip somewhere.

Has been a great fridge – Fridge is now 6 years old and never missed a beat. Ran 24/7 for 6 weeks up Cape York doing the telegraph track with freezer one side, fridge the other. Beers were cold, frozen food stayed frozen including the ice creams. Intermittently used for camping and boat trips mainly otherwise. Does what we need – This was in our boat when we bought it, late 2020. Does what we need, power consumption is good. Only issues is manual control panel does not work, am I doing something wrong. Great fridge – Had this fridge now for over 5 years and has not missed a beat. Darwin heat. Power usage is good for our regular 3-5 day extended fishing trips, battery in the boat is charged on the move however and copes well with the heat under the sealed cast deck not affecting its cooling performance. This fridge replaced the equivalent 50L Waeco and is equally as good a unit. A reversible lid would have been a useful option however hence the slight downgrade for ease of use

I have a fridge that is less than three years old and can’t get it to cool – I have a fridge that can with a second hand camper that I can’t get to cool. I can’t be any clearer than that. Wi-Fi setting is garbage. There’s no quick and easy connection. There’s no support and the majority of people with problems are told to return the fridge to a service centre. Worst money i ever spent – I purchase my G50 at Agquip a number of years ago and have hardly used it as i don,t trust it It went back twice before being replaced and the second time came back with a box cutter slice in the cover I have now just had it repaired at the Tamworth agent at a cost of $221.22 to replace the fan motor and am not game to go traveling again as i don,t want to risk loosing all my food when it brakes down  Show details

Brilliant fridge great price – Purchased our Evakool Glacier 55l about 18 months ago. We have used this fridge for camping and have replaced our expensive caravan fridge with this fridge. Everkool Never again – I had an Everkool Glacier 80ul portable fridge for 2 years and had no end of trouble with burnt out control board. Rubbish! – Purchased 74l dual compartment just over 2 years ago. Has been used for approx 4 weeks over the past 2 years. 3 days into our 2 week camping trip the fridge all of a sudden stopped cooling. Evakool 36litre dual zone fridge freezer – I have owned a 36l Evakool fridge/freezer for 8 years and as we are grey nomads travelling Oz it works pretty much all day every day. When we stop for a while it is on 240v but when we travel it is on 12v and we have done 90,000 ks in the van with the fridge in the back of the tow vehicle. Don't expect any service – This fridge seemed great when I got it, but after only about 6 weekends of use it failed. Took it to the Evakool recommended repairer who said it was not repairable because a gas leak was inside the cabinet. It was in perfect condition other than no gas but had to throw it out. High failure rate – They were ok when going, but they only have a very short life span and do not expect any help. I was trying to be fair, but got the flip. I will not own anything of this brand again.

trip and then i get the 2 flash fault (fan issue). no problem look online and found the answer replaced the fan worked for about 2 days and once battery voltage started to get low same fault 2 flashes. Return home and plug in to the wall again same fault 2 flashes.

all in all i have had 2 fridges in about 4 years and both have failed miserably i am very disappointed in this manufacturer and will never buy another on or recommend one to anyone. But they would make a good boat anchor. Mathew

It does the job I require of it – I use this fridge daily, it sits next to me at home. If I have to travel then it goes in the back of the wagon. I have found it reliable even in hot situations in the back of the wagon. I use a BT monitor on my car battery and have found it to be fairly economical. (I drive a 2l Mondeo diesel). that has an adjustable divider, so cold air circulation within the fridge works well and

there doesn't seem to be any hot or cold spots within the main fridge space. Minimum Temperature is -20 degrees C

It generally rides in the back of my 4WD dual cab ute under a hard lift-up tonneau, which must become very hot on a

warm & sunny day.

I have travelled with it in 45 degree C heat and the setting on -2 degrees and the beer just gets a few ice crystals in it

as you remove the top, how good is that.

I have also used it for frozen food in 43 degree C heat set at -15 degrees in the back of the same 4wd and it was still completely

frozen hard like a rock 5 hours later when we arrived and then moved the fridge into the shade.

We do stop about every 2 hours and lift up the tonneau and park in the shade for a 10 minute break, which I am sure helps.

When driving with the fridge/freezer under the tonneau, I don't know how much power it drawers as it is connected to the ute

charging system.

When being used on site camping or at home it is drawing anything from 1/2 to 2 amps average @ 12 volts depending on ambient temperature,

how much you are opening the lid, how often the beers are being replaced!!!!

This fridge just works. JUST MAKE SURE THE VENTS ARE CLEAR, or you will get an error reading, NO Brainer, right!!!

Best thing we have bought for camping – I spent nearly 12 months trying to decide on a fridge. Loved the ARB 60L, but wasn't dual zone and too long for the Pajero's boot. Engel was way too expensive for nothing extra, no true dual zone. Waeco CF series had terrible electronics, hinges, catches and lid. Burnt before. Then stumbled on the Glacier series. The large 75ltr fits perfect in the boot. True dual zone. Larger BD50 compressor. Dual lid. And at less than $1000 with cover on a show special, I was sold.

Have dragged it to both ends of Australia and never a single fault. Having the option of a freezer makes touring so much easier. We premake a lot of meals or baby food and just pull one out every morning to defrost and tea is ready to go that night. Otherwise its used for drinks. Uses pretty much exactly what the advertised current draw is.

Would definitely buy another one.

Initial test looks good – Bought direct from Evakool the 25th anniversary edition (they had a special price with cover - much cheaper than anywhere else). Looks good so far, but have only tested it on mains power for 24 hours so far. Temperatures seem reasonably accurate compared to a thermometer. connectivity which was a bonus not listed on the advert - handy to track temperature movements. Will test it out further while camping in a few months and give an update.

3years 3 error code lights – When it was working it did a good job, was taken during summer most weekdays for food and drinks inside sedan, 3rd summer and 3 Flashing light error code started, ambient temp too high or something the book said. the thick insulation the fridge doesn't cycle very often thereby saving battery power. Would I ever buy another one, in a heart beat.

Digital Readout wild variations – Made a big mistake You would think a Fridge Freezer Digital readout in a modern fridge would read around what you want your food or drinks to be. After 2 weeks a Technician finally rang about this and Told us a variation of 5 degrees above and 2 below is normal,when I questioned why my old Failed FM70 Evakool had a even readout of Temperature he told me it was where the sensors are located.

So in fact the Glacier has the Sensors located badly .

poor build quality – purchased the glacier 75l dual zone just over two years ago been used about 4 trips won't cool down pulled the ispection panel off bout 30 washers fell out for a start, had it checked out to find that it has dropped its gas and is not repairable all evakool offerd was a small discount on new fridge, no thanks evakool wont get burned twice.  Show details

Error codes – We bought a 75 l glacier for our new camper as it was what fitted the best on the fridge slide. We picked up our camper 2weeks ago and and installed the fridge into its new home on its slide. I did some testing with the fridge and it run fine for a week. for our first camping trip. It run fine for a bit and then error code 2 flashes, fan. Turned it off and tried again and it's back on and working. Couple of hours later same thing 2 flashes. Not a good first experience with evakool and will wait to hear a reply from them. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly as its now Tuesday and we go camping Friday lunch

Terrible and full of dramas – worked on 12v but on 240.....Error codes!!! Error codes!!! Error codes!!! and huge difference between displayed temp and actual air temp.. as well as if you set it to -18 when it reaches it it turns off and rises to -14 or 13 before turning back on instead of staying on until -20 and coming back on at -16 to average -18. Average fridge with average cover only lasted 1 month – Great all rounder fridge and almost identical to my previous Waeco. This was a run out model so I got it very cheap, brand new shipped directly from Evakool. The disappointment is the cover it comes with. Temperature Control Poor – Set Freezer and Fridge up and froze both sides. Appears to not like running both modes at once. Set at -15c and it allows fridge to go to -10c. Set Fridge to 4c and it went to -6 c. Froze all the drinks and lucky I took the beer out. Will continue to test then ring Evakool.
