Bad cooktop...even worse customer service – The cooktop only works intermittently. The woman in the call centre attempted to teach me over the phone how to fix the cooktop myself, after I gave her a very brief description of the problem. Apparently she then called her husband about it, and they were both "certain" it was a problem with the gas regulator (after I had told her repeatedly that gas was still coming through). Because she was so sure about this, she advised me to look around for a gas specialist rather than a stove repairman. Luckily I didn't listen to her bizarre advice because it turned out to be completely wrong and I would have footed a bill for a tradesman who was completely unnecessary.
If you have already purchased this cooktop, all I can advise is steer clear of the F&P call centre. Looks solidly built Doesn't work very well; poor after sales service
EXPENSIVE PIECE OF FP RUBBISH – Fisher Paykel Cooktop NIGHTMARE, purchased it because Choice recommended it. Biggest mistake we ever made, brand new out of the box but one of the LED indicator lights didn't work, then from almost the first week it kept on randomly shutting off, the flame failure detection feature was faulty, FP sent out their repair people so many times and the repair bloke told us it is a known fault. They replaced the ignition box at leat three times, one time he put a new ignition box in screwed everything back together and it was faulty and had to order another one. Almost every piece was replaced but continued to randomly just switch off. Finally replaced it with a Westinghouse and am now really happy. Even the second generation of this cooktop has the same issue. Fisher Paykel Customer Service is absolutely pathetic they know there is an inherent fault but do nothing about it, they refuse to replace the cooktop and just alienate their customers. Would NOT recommend Fisher Paykel to anyone. looks nice but...... flame failure detection feature is a complete FAILURE, tries to re-ignite even though the flame is burning, FP has BAD customer service
Absolute rubbish, waste of money – A product you wouldn't even recommend to an enemy. Had this cooktop for 3.5 years and can't wait to be rid of it. Luckily we bought extended warranty because I've had it repaired on average 3x a year for one thing or another, repeatedly the igniter. Surface scratches and stains easily. Terrible – It constantly tried to ignite the other brners when you only had one on, then it would shut down. They tried to overcome one problem by upping the regulator, now you cannot get a low flame for simmering. Looked good, looks are not everything. Absolute rubbish from the word go. Bought the very first one. Had lighting problems from day one. They had to take a part from a showroom model to get ours working. Not a good word to say about it. we are changing ours already. It will not be a fisher & Paykel. If Fisher & Paykel are looking in, you know what i am talking about, Mr. Sampford Newcastle NSW.
Terrible – Very unimpressed will be replacing now am getting new kitchen after only 15 months. Has put me off Fisher & Faykel despite previous good expriences. Wok burner Doesn't light properly, stains VERY easily
