My last F&P product – After 5 years of moderate use, we were confronted with the second huge repair quotation ,qualified by the manufacturer that they are not sure that the fault would be rectified. By doing the repair 80% of the original purchase price would have been spent on repairs and we said no, this is not economical at all. Their"Customer-care" devision did not see a product replacement as the obvious solution so we ordered a Miele TKB 350WP instead. Poor service really poor.

Terrible – I would not recommend this dryer for people who like their houses. However, I would recommend this dryer if you would like to move after you do one load of laundry. It's no longer in my house. The DEIX2 set my house on fire the very first time I used it. It was not the gas connection that started the fire. I smelled plastic burning and went to check the dryer when I noticed that the drum was way, way, way out of place with the drum actually causing the plastic on the top of the dryer to burn. I unplugged it and that's when the bottom of the dryer caught on fire. It caused major and costly damage to my house which was almost ready to move into in the wake of hurricane Katrina.

Excellent – As far as I am aware here in Australia we only have the electric model available. I don't actually own one of these now. Though, last year my job sent me to the States for four months and the house I lived in had the F&P top loading washer with this dryer in the basement. I was very pleased with the performance of both appliances and neither started any fires whilst I was using them. This dryer is perfect for a family of four or larger. By and large this product is superior to the usual fare that is found in your average Australian home. In the States, where this model has been available for a number of years now, most consumer reviews are favorable. Very clever design, which offers superior ergonomics - i.e. top loadig. When placed next to a top loading washer, it's a breeze to load and unload, without ever again accidentally dropping clean clothes on the ground. If coupled with a washer that spins at 900 rpm or above, drying times should be an hour or even less for a full load. The lint basket only needs to be emptied every other week, even if dryer is used daily. No notable tangling and hardly any creasing - thus, reduced need to iron. Large capacity, which can speedily dry a family sized load without fuss and bother. Lots of program options and very effective automatic sensor drying. Quality appears good and it looks nice too. Australian homes generally don't have the space to accomodate dryers of this size. They also require a 20 or 30 amp power outlet which needs to be specially fitted. Unless one is building a house and making provisions for this type of appliance, retro-fitting ones laundry will add several hundred dollars to the initial purchase price.
