Cant even buy a lower door seal .. Not made – Works OK ... But when lower door seal is required Not Available . I think this is so bad . So got to buy new dish washer. Wont be a Fisher & Paykel that is for sure ... Very unhappy
do not buy! – bought less than 12 months ago and the door has considerably lost the colour at the bottom where the door opens. Looks like bad water marks and on first inspection we thought maybe there was a protective film that we had not removed. We are baffled by it, had many dishwashers that still looked in as good new condition after 5 years. This is 9 months old and looks terrible! Show details
stay clear of this brand – This was bought as a package for our new kitchen and we havent been impressed by any of their products. We've had problems with the door seal leaking since this was a couple of months old. to replace the door seal you need to replace the entire door inner. Now after 3 years we get the e6 error code, pay $140 dollars for a call out and 30 seconds… Read more
later he tells us the motor is water damaged and its not an economical repair. At least this explains the random times the trip switch goes off. Now off to buy a new dishwasher, won't be buying fisher and paykel ever again. despite the measly offer of a coles voucher from the repair guy if we did.

Great reliable workhorse – Bought this great value for money dishwasher several years ago. Never had any problems with it. It cleans and dries perfectly on normal setting and eco setting. Heavy duty is used to clear pipes occasionally. Glasses are clean and cutlery basket works well. Easy to stack and remove dishes. It is as noisy as other dishwashers and once set you… Read more
forget. The red buttons are easy to use and sensitive to touch. The design is unobtrusive and easy to keep clean. It has not caused any issues and has been a great reliable workhorse for a busy executive family.
Easy to use, great dishwasher – We have now renovated two kitchens, and installed this Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in both of them. It is great value for money, and very easy to use. The stainless steel looks very modern and fits into the kitchen nicely. Everything always comes out clean and dry, we have not had any problems. Looks great, works perfectly. It would be perfect if there was a child lock.
Great value dishwasher from NZ's most trusted whiteware brand – We have never had any problems with this Fisher & Paykel dish washer. Fisher & Paykel make great dish washers. This model is good value and does what it's supposed to do - wash dishes. If you want something fancier, it will cost you more. This suits us great for the time being. I like buying a NZ brand. Total Rubbish – Like so many others, wouldn't recommend this brand of dishwasher to anyone. We had ours about 5 years and that's all you can expect to get out of one. We have had a lot of issues with 'low pressure' alarm on and off over the years but now it seems terminal. I have tried to fix this by way of a new inlet valve but to no effect so off to the tip you go. Not throwing any more good money after bad. Disappointing really. :-(
Started leaking and beeping after 4-5 years – My dishwasher has the same problems as some of the other complaints here. It worked ok for 4-5 years but started leaking and beeping 2 weeks ago. I disconnected it and reconnected it to complete the wash cycle when it first happened, but after all the fuss it happened again. I'm not sure it's worth fixing!
Design fault – The lid to the dispenser can not open completely. This is due to the top rack blocking the lid, so the tablet wasn't completely dissolving so the dishes are dirty. Had it serviced about 2 years ago. The technician told me not to use tablets, only powder. I thought that's odd. Used powder, no better. Last month had another technication out, not… Read more
from F & P. He was the one who explained and showed me how the top rack obstructed the lid opening. He also said the dispenser was too deep and the water couldn't get in enough to dissolve the powder. He had seen this not only with F & P products. I sent a email to F & P, took a week for them to reply. They said the dispenser wasn't too deep and I should adjust the the height of the top rack. I had already done so. They suggested I should have yet another service, by one iof their servicemen, of course at my expense. I suspect they will tow the party line. I also have the problem of contents not drying. From other reviews that is a commonly raised issue. This dishwasher is at our holiday house which is rented on weekends. We have had compliants from the guests. At home we have a Miele and it does dry the dishes very effectively. I am going to persue F & P as I feel they are fobbing me off and they are quite dismissive, almost arrogant. I sent another 2 emails yesterday. I'll be interested to see how long it will take to reply and what they say. I'm hoping other customers will read this review and share their story of the same problem. The more compliants, the more different it is for F & P to defend their stance. The model number is DW60CSW1.

Bad design – It washed ok for 3 or 4 years then the bottom door seal started leaking. Poor design means that the seal is put under stress every time the door is opened, and it does not sit properly against the floor of the dishwasher interior. But worst of all, replacing the seal means replacing the whole steel inner door panel, which is expensive and very wasteful.
Disappointed! – We have had four great years out of this dishwasher but it has gone to dishwasher heaven......We have never had any trouble with it but then all of a sudden everything went wrong!! The drain blocked (even though we always rinse dishes), then it started randomly beeping for no apparent reason, then it started leaking.... We replaced the door… Read more
panel and the bottom seal but then the electronics board fried itself so now dishes are washed by hand in our house :( It washed the dishes well and always came out sparkling The way the seal had split looks like to me a design fault :( Feel it should have lasted longer than four years
Poor performance dishwasher – Bought one in October 2009 and never been happy with its performance. As it it got older, the number of times we had to wash it twice and then also by hand increased. January 2014....machine is just not washing the dishes.. everything gets wet, soap get used but dishes dirty. cleaned out everything including pump and machine still does not clean. … Read more
A machine should last a lot longer than 4 years... gone and bought a Bosch and what a difference in performance, quiteness and time of washing.
Fisher and Paykel.... stick to fridges and stoves because your dishwashers are a waste of money and giving you a bad name. was not electronic- very simple to use noisy, stainless doors blemish easy, bump it and it switches on or off, dos not clean dishes very well
Do not buy this one ! – 1. The plastic detergent dispenser lever broke after a year of use, resulting in not being able to put detergent in to the dishwasher. 2. The mains switch that actuates once the doors are closed has burnt out and we can not power up the dishwasher no more; this only after a year and a half of use 3. The plastic door cover has cracked at the top… Read more
4. The top dish tray dropped in height after a while, resulting in misalignment of the sprayer pipe, which in turn resulted in no high-pressure water spraying over the top tray (!)

P.S.
It is also incredibly noisy in operation!

Fisher & Paykel DW60CSX1 – Don't buy one! I have a dual living home with two kitchens and subsequently bought 2 of these dishwashers. Both have stopped working, failing to complete their cycle. Their usage has been very light in a one person household. It is also painfully annoying when you simply brush against it and (when it was working) it started its cycle. They… Read more
are cheap and nasty. This washer is a perfect example of buyer beware. Buy something else. Very easy to use Purchased 2 of these washer and both are broken within a few months of eachother. Brush against it and it starts a wash.
Steer clear – I have a family of 6 and have used various brands of dishwashers over the years. We are in an 'inbetween' house at the moment so we bought a cheap dishwasher to get us by... Well what a load or rubbish it is!! The soap dispenser won't open most of the time, it clogs up constantly, even though everything is rinsed first. Half the time I can't get… Read more
the cycle I want to work, then randomly it will work. The top rack comes of its rails all the time. The rubber seal comes out (we've had to silicon it in). It never does a perfect wash, forever putting things back through. And you can hardly fit anything in it because of rack design. It was cheap and because we love our Fisher Paykel washing machine and fridge we thought we would give it a go.
Do NOT buy this! – Worst dishwasher ever. Brand new and it doesn't wash clean. The water is luke warm at best and dishes are soaking wet at the end of any cycle. Buttons are too sensitive, just brush past it and it starts. Stacking anything on upper tray also result on lots of water left on top of cups at end of each cycle. I wouldn't even attempt at giving this… Read more
away for free to anyone. Going straight to the dump instead. Roomy inside Everything. Racks, temperature, noisy, unclean washing, soaking wet dishes at end, sensitive buttons, draining.
OK – I have always been happy purchasing Fisher & Paykel products and like that they are easy to operate. This dishwasher model fustrates me as the buttons are sensitive and if the power button is lightly touched, it switches off mid wash and you can not resume you start all over again. There should be a memory function or a lock on the buttons once in… Read more
a program. Simple operation, easy to use, inside racks can be laid down and cutlery basket can be halved. Over sensitive touch buttons on control panel, plastic racks.
Load of junk! – Where do i start? The buttons are way to senetive. You only have to brush agaist it and you will start or stop a cycle. The dish and cup stacker is designed to make stacking a nightmare. The cups are a juggleing act to keep them straight. The part that releases the soap dosnt open half the time. It dosnt drain or dry or for that matter even clean… Read more
well unless you wash 6 plates and cups at a time, and whats the point in that. Bottom line is this is a pieace of tolal hippo [censored word removed].
Don't waste your time with this dishwasher – Fortunately Harvey Norman have been wonderful as this machine has a very useless filtration system if you even call it that. We have a large family so this machine kept cloggling up with debris even though I scraped and rinsed dishes as you would normally. So I exercised my consumer rights and complained to f&p and hn and I now have a lovely new… Read more
blanco dwf5x which is better by miles. So I guess my story is u don't have to put up with a dodgy machine. Better still just stay clear of these machines. You may as well wash the dishes by hand because you will do a better job.
It also turns on or off too easily if you lean against it which is a bit annoying.
Return it if you are unhappy with its poor quality. Get your salesman to sort it out, mine was very helpful. I had minefor 6 months and thought i had to just put up with it. But don't. Very happy with my new Blanco. The difference is like chalk and cheese. Honestly don't buy the f&p it's not worth it. I'm a mum of four so I NEED a good dishwasher. This is NOT a good washer. But overall very happy with outcome. Did I mention the Blanco? It's fantastic. (see my other review) I hope this helps other mums out there. Cheers :) Cheaper but not worth it. Spend an extra $150 and get a Blanco dwf5x instead. Doesn't wash very well. Filter clogs too easily which requires cleaning every few days. Not for large families. Overpriced.
A bad product – Rated the second worst together with LG in the USA. F&p technician advise me not repair it buy anything else but.advised buy Bellini $300 machine. I looking at Samsungs on specials considering Bosch top review by experts but a bit expesive due to euro. Do not buy fisher and paykel I bought 3 in the past Leaks, electric faults, expensive parts, takes a lot time to repair
Don't do it ! Don't buy it – The most frustrating appliance I have ever had. It has hardly been used. When I do try to use it all I get are flashing lights and nothing else. Have heard the electronic panels give in easily. I will quit while ahead and not pay for repairs but rather take it to the tip. Will never buy a Fisher and Paykel product ever again. Also have a fridge and that's not the best either Doesn't start wash cycle - flashes light on panel instead.

OK for price – Much quieter than our previous Conia/Mistral Chinese unit. Washes well provided not fully packed but drying is woefull. Any moisture left on top of glasses, cups etc. from wash cycle remains. Pity. Quiet, inexpensive. Poor drying.

Good Service – Harvey Norman was very helpful answering all questions about product. My new dishwasher is exactly what I wanted. Very happy. Good price and reliable
Great Price, Great Dishwasher – Never having a dishwasher before makes it a little difficult to compare. So here I go , this diswasher is a dream , any thing that cuts washing time is awesome. We have had no dramas with it for the 6 months that we have owned it and I am not sure if it is the Method Tablets that we use but it even dries the plastic containers really well, and we… Read more
have a lot of them after 2 hungry kids lunches. Overall stuff like noise and length could annoy you if you had installed it in the lounge room but we put it in the kitchen and we don't notice it. Price , dries well , easy to use no useless extras. Only have to brush past and the buttons turn on.
Terrible – The dishwasher broke down after only 2.5 years and the cost to fix almost half what the dishwasher cost. What a piece of junk. I would rather buy a good quality dishwasher than fix this piece of junk. I won't buy fisher & paykel again. it was relatively inexpensive purchase at 700.00. The service technician came out the same day that I called.… Read more
it broke down six months after the two year warranty expired. The call out fee was $125.00, the part was $296.00. I didn't bother fixing it. A dishwasher that breaks down after only 2.5 years is not worth fixing. I will never buy fisher & paykel again.
Terrible – very disapointed. my last dishwasher in old house dried everything and it came out sparkling using finish tabs, but now everything comes out dirty even tho still using finish tabs. i now just wash up in the sink and no longer use it. dont waste your money! everything comes out wet, i have to spend ages hand drying everything. very long cycle.… Read more
leaves residue from dishwashing tablets on everything and pools of murkey water at bottom. never complain about anything but this is just crap!!
OK – Was fine if a little frustrating (with the power button) while it lasted. Disappointed at the longevity of the machine. If you are into helping the planet don't buy this machine 'eco' function doesn't function and constant replacement contributing to landfill isn't worth it. Cleans dishes fine if not overloaded. Was affordable and looks good.… Read more
Eco cycle didn't clean dishes very well. Doesn't dry plastics. Touch buttons are very sensitive. If we lean against the bench where dishwasher is located we often accidentally turn the power off mid-cycle. It won't resume so you have to start all over again. Only lived for just over 3 years. Apparently this is pretty common for F&P dishwashers. After a $90 repairman call out fee, we were told we'd be better off buying a new machine as parts and labour would exceed a new machine cost.
Terrible – Would have to be the WORST appliance we have bought and luckily for us it sounds like it won't last long. This machine does not even meet the minimum criteria for a dishwasher...my cat could clean dishes better. Hard to find anything...hang on...the white front matched our kitchen! Long cycle, very noisy, everything is wet when cycle completes,… Read more
overly sensitive buttons on facade and here is the clincher...it doesn't clean the dishes. Extremely disappointed.
OK – It isn't a terrible machine, just wouldn't buy one again. We have been using it for 2 months now and I am used to its shortcomings I guess. I don't bother washing the plastics in it anymore I hand wash them which is a little annoying. I had a bit of trouble with it two weeks ago when after a wash the bottom of the internal unit was covered in a… Read more
couple of centimetres of murky water. It turns out two of the rubber stoppers meant to stop the racks from hitting the door had come off and got trapped in the filter, lucky my hubby is handy and got me to check that so no serviceman required. Guess sometimes you do get what you pay for. It was a reasonable price and looks nice. Washes quit well for most things if not overloaded. Does not dry plastics at all which is a little annoying when we have lunch boxes etc and plastic plates and cups to wash. Can't stack it to full capability or it doesn't wash properly. Takes ages to wash.
Terrible – My Wife got this a a present from a family member. So I had no say in the purchase. I wouldnt of bought this brand myself otherwise as been in Electrical trade and know Fisher and Paykel is a poor quality product. Wouldnt reccomend this dishwasher at all as came minus book and hose connections and accesories. Contacted retailer Noel Leeming whom… Read more
in turn contacted Fisher and Paykel which we contacted. They asked us what missing I said without the book I dont know all the items missing. Checked on net with parts required to prove they were missing. Fisher and Paykel service is very poor and low grade. I asked them for missing parts and after considerable time on the phone to them. They informed me parts would be sent within 5 days. Approx 5 days later I rung them and asked when the parts are going to come and they said we cant find your address which had been given before. After another talk with them again they tell me parts will be here within 10 to 15 days. When rung again Fisher and Paykel tell me they dont make a drain hose for it as not listed in their manual. I hate to think if I rung them again it could be 30 days before the parts arrive. This machine is brand new and after 3 weeks we still cant use it. Upon opening the door a few times and the way the door flexes when opening I dont think long term the door will maintain its shape. I need all the info to make sure installed to manufacturers specifications. Because if its not installed to their specs and something goes wrong they wont give a guarantee.
I will certinaly avoid any Fisher and Paykel product in future. \
With such slow parts delivery the service is really the pits. As can get Items sent from China to New Zealand in 5 days. And Fisher and Paykel cant even send it approx 200 km within 10 days. I hate to think if it needs repairs later on what the delay in spares will be and if they still will be making spares. So be warned keep away from Fisher and Paykel. Nothing at this stage. Fills a hole under bench. Fisher and Paykel in New Zealand are very poor in service. They must be offering New Zealands poorest service.
Parts hard to procure.
OK – Overall it is a good machine, that is to say it does its job. We did have a problem with the drain hose splitting because it was sharply bent when it was installed in our kitchen but that is more of an installation issue than a problem with the machine itself. Washes well, not too noisy for the price. Good racks, easy to load. Leaves plastics very wet.
Good – I bought this dishwasher out of desperation when our quite expensive European dishwasher gave up the ghost one day and I couldn't bear handwashing baby bottles constantly! I chose this because it was a reasonable price and I'm very happy with it! I don't understand why people think it doesn't clean very well! My dishes have always come out… Read more
spotless! And I don't pre rinse either! I think you have to use good quality tablets or powder with it!
I love the cutlery cage divided into so many compartments! I love the way the spokes can fold down on the bottom tray for frypans etc.
Very happy with it! Washes very well - very easy to stack, lots of room Tray on bottom catches a bit
Excellent – our dishes are always clean maybe people shouldnt overload the dishwasher with too many dirty dishes and they will have clean dishes. even cleans my slow cooker and deep fryer great!! we have had fisher and paykel products for years and will continue to do so . we are very happy with our purchase and have had no problems at all with this model. Easy to use nothing ours works great and has done for sometime Show reply
Terrible – Had numerous dishwashers but this is by far the worst. I regret buying it and consider it a poor investment. It does not do what a dishwasher could reasonably be expected to do. I think this d/w is a bad advertisement for F & P, and I will buy European branded major appliances in the future. Thought hard about this and came up with nothing,… Read more
except the price, as this model seems to be being 'dumped' into discount appliance stores. Trays roll roughly, (espec. bottom) and have flimsy or no restraints. Very poor layout top and bottom. Washes just OK, but don't think about filling it! Drying poor; plastic items will not dry at all. Quite noisy operation.
