It does freeze items if you place them close to the compressor though, just need to pack the fridge accordingly.

Great value fridge cant fault – Fantastic bit of kit! have used on some really ruff off road trips cant fault, had a carton of stubbies all pop in ruff off road conditions as the fridge was clean was able to make use of the drain plug to reclaim some flat beer :) It is a good design although it could use a light and some tie down points. ease of handling and fixing down in the back of a car. Easy to clean would recommend to others, but does seem to be a little power hungry.
Best Fridge on the Market – I have owned this fridge since 2008 and has been extremely reliable over that period. It keeps everything cool and frozen in the freezer. This item is tough and strong and has been utilised in hot off road conditions and never let us down. Best Fridge Freezer Ever – Aussie built, doesn't need a bag around it to work, better price and simple design so less to go wrong in the bush, maybe if the others spent more on r&d and less on advertising there fridges would sell themselves like the Fridgemate, cheers
FridgeMate FM60 – I prefer this unit (FM60) as it has a larger footprint & rather than being as deep it is easier to get things out without digging through everything. Noisier than I expected. 12V power cables use too small gauge wire & get warm, will cause voltage drop. Lowest temp I could get was -14. well & for the price I paid I prefer this to my old Engel. Dual zone provision, not too deep. Power hungry on 12V. External 240V power supply should be intergrated similar to Engel.
