General Airstage High Static Single Phase (Fujitsu)

Fujitsu has rebranded to GENERAL as of 1st January 2026.
Very noisy – Very noisy outdoor unit, outdoor unit is too noisy would not recommend. Fujitsu sent out a technician who was very helpful but advised this is just normal compressor noise. If I had of known that the compressor would be this noisy I would have looked at another brand. DO NOT PURCHASE FUJITSU Show details
Performs really well, both for heating and cooling – Cools and heats the house in less than 10 minutes. Original controller had a dull display, and Fujistu service were great, they came out and replaced it in a quick timeframe. Optional zone controller is worth it as we can balance the rooms when required ( e.g. run our main living area at 50% air flow, whilst having other rooms at 100% airflow). Very happy with it so far. how to waste your money – Replaced our old airconditioner with a Fujitsu and it has never performed to expectations. Had the service guy in a number of times and the unit never performed even though it is a 14.5 KW system. Finally the inverter and power board went, bought replacements at astronomical costs, only to discover after repairs that the compressor is not… Read more
functioning correctly hence the service guy suggest i may need to replace it and perhaps more parts but this can only be discovered after We do the progressive repairs. so far I spent $3000 and expect at least another $ 500 for compressor etc. when reading the other reviews about this brand i find it difficult to understand why would anyone ever buy this rubbish as it is there only as a money sink. Not sure if i should continue with repairs or buy new unit of a better brand.

Fugitsu are rubbish – 25 years in the iindustry, have a ducted fugitsu in my home. The units are absolute rubbish. Outside noise levels are far beyond the stated limit after 2 years. Control logic is rubbish leading to excessive power use and poor performance. Replacement parts are over priced and generally not available. It's cheaper to replace an entire outdoor unit… Read more
than repair. But fugitsu won't sell you a single outdoor unit unlike EVERY OTHER MANUFACTURER! Low budget over priced rubbish.

Need as we have medical needs – We have a large house and sometimes have to use day and night settings. It struggles a bit but does manage. When we have the day zone on only we are kept very comfortable. Filtering the dust and pollens are very important and it does this very well. Also here in Queensland we have high humidity this unit is taking care of that problem. In the winter we love the warmth and quick heating capabilities, We highly recommend this unit . Really impressed with the unit, service and support of Fujitsu and installer – Our 13 year old ducted Fujitsu packed up, had several conversations with the Fujitsu support team who were just fantastic. Finally decided to replace it with the ARTG36LHTA and been really happy with it. I have also got 3 other Fujitsu split systems in parts of the house which i am really happy with. Used Thermal Effects Airconditioning in Brisbane who just made it so easy. Show details · 1
great air conditioner – This was replacement for my 19 year old carrier didn,t need to change ducting as it bolts on to the existing inside unit. outside unit is very quiet compared to the old one and much cheaper to run. these were the 2 reasons for changing had some teething problems but Jamie from Butler Air and the Fujitsu service guy were great very happy. easy to use and very effective was tested with the heatwave we had at the same time as installation . Error code "11" - Serial communication error – My fujitsu ARTG45LHTA unit was installed on 14 February 2013, but it was intermittently non-operational with error code "11" for the past 5 years. Despite numerous services by fujitsu which was under 5 years "part and labour warranty", the same issue - error code "11" was still not resolved as at today. I am really disappointed with this fujitsu ducted system and i will no longer recommend this product for sure. Show details

Awesome Product for Heating and cooling your house – We got this installed a few months ago, due to our old System being 35 years old and needed replacing. This system is so quiet which we love. You can’t even hear it’s on. It’s funny because you go outside and everyone else’s (neighbours) are so loud. The house and Rooms heat up really quickly as well, which we love. I would definitely recommend this product for any residence or business. Show 2 replies
Makes the house bearable in summer and winter – Upgraded to a ducted air conditioning system when one of my split systems failed. Was going to go for a Daikin but it was too big for my ceiling space. The Fujitsu has a smaller foot print. Used since July, so has been operating in winter and summer. Works well. Show details
Really loving my investment in this hot weather – A great investment - I installed this system following a single inverter air-con in my lounge packing it in. This system does my whole 3 bedroom house & uses less power than the single unit did. It is quiet & fast to supply either cold or hot air. There are 3 minor issues that I was not aware of prior to installation - - The min temp is 16degC. … Read more · 4
During winter, I'd like to be able to drop the temp overnight & when I am away during the day to 14-15degC like I was able to do with the old single unit. Fujitsu say this min of 16 is to increase efficiency & power usage but when 16deg is too warm overnight & can't be dropped any further, it just has to be switched off.
- The wall control unit which is in the darkest area of my hallway & is not back-lit. It is very hard to select the correct settings. Bigger lettering/symbols & a light would fix this.
- Changing the filter. The system works much better with a clean filter & needs to be cleaned every 2-3 weeks on average. The filter is fitted to my ceiling in the hallway. I am not good on ladders & cannot change this myself. I've now purchased a 2nd filter so that when a visitor calls who is able to climb the ladder, I get them change my filter to clean/wash the dirty one ready to go back up next time. Washing is the best way to clean them & they do take several hours or overnight to dry so at installation, the supply of a spare filter would be a plus. It would also have been nice to have been advised as to how often the filter needed changing & the difficulty. I was upset initially over this.
However, I do like my ducted airconditioning & having it use less power than a single air-conditioning unit is a plus to help off-set the high initial installation cost.
The other drawback is that even though it has a full 5 year parts & labour warranty, if you need a different fujitsu worker to call (the installer not available) you have to pay. I also had a noise like a tap running (not just a drip) in the roof & when the installer returned & failed to find a fault (after hearing & also wondering what the noise was) - I received an account! The noise/excess water was put down to being an extremely hot day & the unit working at such a pace that a lot of excess was coming out the overflow pipes into my gutter. Until then I'd had the unit for around 2 years & never heard the water & also had no idea that there were overflow pipes into my gutter.
Great model – This is our second Fujitsu ducted system and the best one Has multiple zones and the ability to govern the amount of cooling going to each Is fully programmable and very quiet as well Both have been installed in new houses which allows for a better install to suit the owner. Got this for our tenants – The old mitsubishi packed up and we went with this model through Mannix . Our tenants are really happy with this, it cools and heats better than the other one, and much more efficiently. Their bills have gone down, it's been very reliable. I was there, and it has a great output, cools and heats quickly. September 19th 2017 Update: This has… Read more
been excellent!
We think it's a great system, hasn't missed a beat all through winter. Cools well too - will give it a good trot this summer coming.
I'll come back and post a comment on how it's performing.
The controls are easy, and it's relatively quiet, I haven't had to think about it really. The outdoor unit seems fine, and it looks neat and tidy

24 HOURS NEW AND WORKING WELL! – Had our new unit installed yesterday and seems to be working great. Got the E-zone controller so can control it via an app from anywhere in the world if need be. It has 4 zones which is quite sufficient for our 190m2 home and many variations and/or time settings are available to make the use as useful as it could be. Ambience Air, Rockingham where great too, from initial contact to the install, highly recommended. Show reply
Noisy compressor – I have a Fujitsu Ducted 15kw cool and 18kw heating. The system works well, however the outside unit is very loud and I am going to have to build a noise barrier wall to prevent disturbance to adjacent bedrooms. Our neighbours have another popular brand and their unit is much more quieter. I am not sure whether I will install a fujitsu again in my next house.
AOT54LJBYL – Our system lasted just on 7yrs and the compressor is dead, getting quotes to replace it, I recomend you go Daikan!! We have had three of this inverters in other homes and were happy, but this will be the last as its just not good enough.. My opinion only.
ARTG30, so far so good – Had this installed November 2012 after purchasing from Mannix TTP SA, to date it has performed well. I was sceptical this unit could cool and heat my home as I believe it is the entry level of these and do not consider my 1977 home to be the most energy efficient, the installer did their calculations and advised it would be suitable and to my… Read more · 5
surprise it has performed above my expectations, especially heating wise.
I did upgrade to 5 zones (3 bed home) which makes controlling the temperatures within the home more manageable, this will come down to personal preference though. It is coupled to a metalflex zone controller which works well also. One complaint is that the Fujitsu wall controller is not backlit so late night adjustments require the room light to be turned on to see what your doing, this may sound trivial but given the zone controller has this, perhaps Fujitsu should consider this also.
The outdoor unit is quite large (tall) but very quiet so should be good if your neighbour is a bit of a whinger about noise etc, the indoor unit is to me reasonably quiet and for most wont be intrusive.
It has an Eco mode which is meant to save your money and admittedly I did not receive any nasty surprises in the mail from the summer period, there is also an on and off timer and other useful functions to play with. Note when using the heating setting it does not start up straight away, it can take up to 4-5 min to begin heating and this is mentioned in the instructions.
In regards to Fujitsu, I took advantage of their free BBQ promo and I did what was asked by them to redeem it and to my surprise received a good quality Beefeater BBQ in the stated time frame.
Installed the system came in at around $7750 but this included the additional zones and removing the old ducted, this was the best price I was quoted. The actual shelf price with 3 zones was $6999. Quiet, efficient and does job well Wall controller not backlit
Repair of Fujitsu ducted inverter air-conditioning system ART55L (14.5KW) – Installed as a new product in 2007. Immediately after installation, both vents were burnt and repair was required. It happened in December (pick season) and done after few days. Now it was failure again and again both vents are required replacement. Service personnel totally unqualified and know nothing about it. The company for servicing is… Read more
Whithchurch. It cost already $1,700.00 however still not fixed problem. The system is used for heating and now in winter we don't have heating for a month. The servicer engaged don't care about it at all despite number of calls and questions what is going on. Explanation is that they need to test electronics. I asked for replacement of entire unit and told Fujitsu does not allow that prior detecting the problem. Advice to anyone who want to avoid stress don't buy a Fujitsu and especially try to avoid Whithchurch.
Everything however most annoying is indolent behaviour of service personnel.
Its ok – Cools down a very big room in a matter of minutes, heating is ok but that's expected since most of the units need some time to warm themselves up. Overall can't really complain about the performance for 'cheap' ducted, however few things could of been done better... Got a free BBQ from the deal Quite, cooling is very quick Zone splinter buttons… Read more
are way too bright, no thermometer for current temperature, NO BACK LIGHT on the controller (its the 1st one I have ever seen without a backlight). There is a premium option for $160 which is a bit much for just one diode light
Still not going – We have this system in for 5 weeks now and it is still not going had the service agent out 4 times and he still says he needs more parts it has. Ever ran totalaly over it So hot summer will be over before they get it going Fujitsu have been so bad to deal with they don't return calls never again will I buy this brand Does not go
Not Recommended – We pruchased two ducted systems for our home. 8 Zones, (18 outlets). The units take a long time to generate heat. Fujistu claim outside temperature operating range is -14 - 24 degrees for heating. When its 5 degrees or less outside, the air conditioners cannot produce any heat. They ice over within 30 mins and then constantly de-ice. The… Read more
problem is, that it takes so long to generate heat again that the outdoor units ice over again and the entire system stops. Was 2 degrees outside this morning, and only 15 inside. Buy a Daikin. Old house had Daikin which nad no problems even when below 0....
Poor performance. Slow to produce heat.
Powerful, efficient, but noisy outdoor unit – We have this installed in 2008 for our 4 bedroom double storey house. It has been running OK without problem so far. We use it for heating (temp set to between 19-20C) and cooling (temp set to between 25-26C). It quickly heats or cools the entire house, e.g about 1/2 hour from 14C to 19C in typical winter morning. It maintains the set temp well. … Read more
Using our cent-a-meter electricity meter, I monitor the power consumption. I found it uses around 4-5 kW when it tries to first heat/cool, but the rate drops to around 0.7-1 kW for maintaining, with idle time (not consumption) in between.
The indoor unit in the roof space is very quiet. Even at night we don't notice the indoor unit running. However the outdoor unit is noisy, especially compared to the our Fujitsu split system next to it, and a Daikin system installed in my dad's place. When it runs, we can hear it inside our home. Thankfully, it is not installed close to the neighbour, otherwise we could have been complained. powerful, efficient, value for money noisy outdoor unit

Terrible – We had this air conditioner installed after our house was finished about 7 months ago. We used it for heating a couple of times and didn't need to use it until summer. It had tripped the circuit breaker, the service guy said that this a common problem and they can stop most of the pests getting in after they fix it. If it is easy to fix why don't… Read more
FUJITSU do it before they sell this so-called "outside unit"? I think this might be a good A/C If they fixed this obvious design fault. After being told that I would have to fix this fault myself, this will be my last FUJITSU anything. I haven't used it long enough to know if it has any. We only used this a couple of times on heating, when we went to use it for cooling it wouldn't work. We had the service people out and they said FUJITSU wont cover the warranty because it was a frog that caused the fault. FUJITSU sell these units to be used outside but are not suitable to be used outside, if the unit is made useless by a frog or a lizard. Do you think that's fair?
The design of the unit has nothing to do with the fault. It would be an installation issue as any… Read more (+1 reply)
Excellent – A great unit highly recommend, works very well. Heating is particularly impressive, cooling equally especially on very hot days/nights. Service excellent We have a fully ducted 9 zone Fujitsu ducted A/C. In the first week a mother board malfunctioned, a totally new unit replaced it. All happened quickly totally hassle free. has been in service for 2 years, it is working brilliantly.
Often have to turn the temperature up to the low 20s as it can get too cold.
In the winter the heating is excellent almost instant when switched on.
A great unit cannot fault it.
42 degree days are a breeze.

Bad – The thermostats need battery backup. The units need to be sized appropriately for the heat load to be handled which in my view requires a unit at least one size larger than Fujitsu recommends. For relatively small areas where the return air is in the same room and the door to the room is kept closed, these units are fine. Thermostat has no… Read more
battery backup - reverts to cooling and loses time/date/programming when power is lost. For a large room that gets very warm on a hot day, we can't get the room cool even by running the unit set at 18 and full fan.
Excellent – I installed the whole system on my own as I purchased a kit and found it easy to install with help of course from my local sparky & fridgie. We absolutely love the comfort of our home now that the humidity has vanished and we now look forward to many years of comfort. Thanks Fujitsu. I have the outdoor unit outside one of my bedrooms and when… Read more
the unit is running full tilt I can hear it but it does not bother me nor anyone else.
Haven't got a bill yet as I just fired it up yesterday in terrible humidity and within 15 minutes the house was extremely comfortable and when I inspected the outside drain it was a constant flow being discharged from the ceiling unit showing me the amount of moisture inside the house which in the past has caused a lot of mould. The rest of my day was very comfortable and many more to come.We love it. None really but the return air is a little loud but bearable and you get used to it.
Good – I bought 2 of these units for my new house back in March, as one would have struggled with the size of the house. I am quite happy with my decision, but I'd have to be after spending $13,000 including installation. So far it hasn't been very expensive to run, but haven't had it going throughout a hot summer yet! I love the way it cools and… Read more
humidifies, I just wish it was a little quieter outside. Fantastic climate control all year round.
Dehumidifies and cools the whole house within minutes on hot days.
Comfortable warmth in winter. Noisy outdoor units (constant humming/vibration)
Noisy return air duct, improved when I purchased a slightly different style with smaller holes, although it is annoying if you want to leave it on overnight.
Complicated control panel. Difficult to set timers.
Good – Mechanically a top product. Ours has been running every day for 5 years without a problem. Only real ongoing maintenance is cleaning intake filter which is easy and since it is intended you do it yourself, free. Something about the way you set it to turn on and off on the control panel is not intuitive but is easily managed with the manual. Does… Read more
an excellent job of dehumidifying the air which is important in Sydney summers. It works so well and unobtrusively we often forget it is on until we step outside and realise how much nicer the Fujitsu has made inside. Quiet, efficient, reliable timer functions difficult to set
Excellent – I had the art36latu system installed to 8 point on a single zone for $5800 and its the best investment in my house i have made. I believe alot had to do with getting a thorough assesment of requirements and placement of ducts. a lounge suite sits right against the wall where the outside unit is located and we cannot even hear it operating. manual is simple and very easy to understand. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone but for such a large investment make sure you find a great reputable installer who will guarantee IN WRITING his work to prevent any warranty issues. the unit runs very effeciently and is very easy to use. the outdoor unit i have found to be extremely quiet (art36latu 10kwh/c setup) price was very competitive with a good 5 year warranty the indoor unit can whine a little bit however not by any means loud it can be annoying. however if you keep the intake filter clean the sound is barely noticeable
Excellent – Fujitsu Inverter Systems provide optimum comfort all year round, such as in cycle heating or cooling, moreover it is quite economical. Energy efficiency, quiet operation and cools/heats to the desired temperature you choose.
OK – I am trying to get the noise issue sorted out and tested if possible to see if its within the 69db limit. I suspect this may be normal. I've only had the system for 3 months so the real test is how it will perform in the coming years. It cools fairly well. The outside unit is nosiy especially when compared to a Mitsubishi system I had in a previous house. In addition my neighbours have complained about the noise.
