Better than the Holden Cruze builtin GPS General Motors (out of date Ver) requiring $350 disc update – Yes You can rely on it, also the camera's are so spot on it DINGS just as you past them! awesome. The GPS in the holden didnt have cameras.....Also you can go off road Lat long! Easy update online awesome sewrvice, utilising the embedded Windows system. Installation was universal, such that we switch betwixt our cars.......Worth every penny!!!!!

have it installed so it ends up a costly exercise. so purchase a well respected brand of any item you want to purchase and then I am sure you will be able to have it repaired or buy replacement parts if they fail to work correctly.

You get what you pay for – I brought one primarily for the reversing camera. I'm happy with the resolution, but I have had to replace the camera twice as so far it hasn't been water proof (rain or even washing the car). I even solasticed the last one just enought not to impede the camera without luck. The replacements have arrive quickly, but I want a waterproof unit.

"Cheap". What to expect – Bought to replace previous ALDI gps where speaker & bluetooth failed. Bluetooth failed within 1 month. Audio chip only half worked after a while. Picked up stray images through reverse camera circuit from other vehicles in traffic. Screen liquid bloomed/failed on a hot summer day. All Aldi GPS units rubbish in Australian (Victorian) conditions!

Works well for me – I have just purchased my sat-nav from Aldi, works well, gives the road speed and zones fine, and, also the sat-nav the right directions, I have not had the rear camera installed yet, shame about the voice, but will install and speaker.

automatically switch on when you turn on the ignition. So you have to manually turn the unit on and by the system boots, you have already reversed and driven 800 meters down the road before the unit has booted to the point where the camera would deliver an image. Too bad for the kid you could have backed over.

Advice for any of these products test the product on the bench and out in day light. If it fails to meet expectations take if back for a full refund. Send the message that bad products are not acceptable.

garbage bin and i'll never buy anything from aldi ever again including all my family ...Sure if i installed it straight away when i bought would of been replaced, however !!! It's bloody new and expected to work, but it didn't, so be careful out there, don't buy aldi staff especially for a present and not to be used straight away like i did... poor – everything about this product was poor . I bought 2 and they were both bad and I took them back. maps, voices, software, downloads, camera, choices, screen, it wouldn't even turn off and on with the car. Normally ALDI is pretty good but a major fail this time. Avoid it like the plague cheap everything

Hopeless navigation – I primarily bought this unit for it's reversing camera function. apparent reason until you exit navigation and then re-start it.

And on more than one occasion it tried to send me down a dead end street.

If you deviate from your route, it's not very smart at re-routing. It tends to just try and get you to turn around, rather than mapping out a new route.

The touch screen isn't very responsive.

The Google Maps navigation in my Android phone is way superior in every way.

I've done all the recommended tweaks as per the instructions - calibrated the touch screen, installed nPlus and updated everything.

Would I recommend it? If you're after a cheap reversing camera then yes, it does the job. If you need the navigation function then no - look elsewhere. Reversing camera works OK. Useless as a navigator. Dim, fuzzy, low resolution screen

Sounds like a grudge on Aldi I have never been knocked back on a refund – This is an excellent product for its price,latest maps etc.Only drawback I can find is the sound volume you can not hear instructions otherwise very good. Excellent product, met all our expectations, recommended this to our family – Excellent product only drawback we have to agree with others that the volume isn't loud enough to hear in traffic. Went to Dick Smith and purchased a Moshi Bassburger palm size Boom-Box speaker with built in amplifier, this product must be charged on pc before using, fantastic product from Dick Smith, did the job. reliable, easy to operate and inexpensive

OK however – All functions are exellent. Great comparing with products of other producers. However brightness of the screen is bad, foggy and colours faded, difficult to see details on it during a day. GoCruse 3,5"(GPS-3506) or 4,3" (GPS-4305) of the same brand have an excellent brightness and colours. Easy do read during a day. "A lemon" – Was working well then could not set navigation route - 'navigation' touch point decided not to work at all!! All other 'touch' apps did work. This was a gift and was not able to return. No joy with this piece of electronics and very disappointed with the item as I had purchased one for myself also. warranty service virtually nil
