Wish I'd bought 2!!!! – Absolute value for money. I purchased this washing machine about 13 years ago and only just having to replace it now. Reason for leaving the review was because of all the bad reviews and wanting to share my own positive one! Has worked without a single problem in the last 13 years, survived 3 x babies, Dog beds, work boots, joggers you name it.… Read more

Held up beautifully for my busy family of 5!! Survived 3 x house moves along the way too. No, you can't open the door after the first minute the cycle begins... for good reason - it's a front loader!!?? You'd end up swimming in your laundry!! Plays a cute little song when its finished. Love it!! Still works just replacing as it has visible rust damage to front and mould on the inside rubber section. Just hoping the quality is the same for my next Haier washing machine!!

Failed, collapsed drum – Purchased this and at 4 years it failed, the drum has collapsed, bearings have failed and have had to throw it away. Spoke to the service department and it will cost $600 for a repair of the bearings, more than the machine itself! Sadly this company does not make products to last long and will advise against buying anything from this brand.

rubbish – 3 years old. 3 motors. 2 control p Panels. Don't do it. Never again! !!!!! I thought it would be a good machine as value for money. When it's not broken, it is. Waiting to hear back from Haier as to what they will do with it. Keep fixing? ???? I don't think so. It will be in the rubbish.

except when the power goes out!!! – Can't open the door, once the power went out? While in the middle of washing my quilt and sheets and pillow cases

Don't Bother with Haier/Fisher Paykel – Bought a Haier in April 2012. By early 2013 the motor and locking mechanism was stuffed and had to be replaced under warranty. Now 18 months later, the exact same issue. This time no longer under warranty and the part that was replaced originally only had a 12 month warranty. The cost to repair and technician is nearly the cost of a new washing… Read more

machine.

2 identical faults in just over 2 years. No help from customer service. So sad too bad mentality

Rubbish. Don't waste your money – Only for scrap metal collectors. Had machine for approx. 18 months. Motor was replaced twice. Took 1 1/2 weeks to get someone out to look at it the first time (under warranty) and another week to have it repaired. Took 2 weeks the second time around(still under warranty) and a further 2 weeks to fix. In this case you get what you pay for. Spend… Read more

the extra $$$ and buy a more reliable brand. Loved the features and it was cheap. Cheap and nasty, slow warranty service.

Like the song! – We have the HWM1480KFL. Was taking a punt on a chinese appliance but have been pleasantly surprised. Has been good for 2 years now, with pretty much daily use. Strangely the sport cycle is only very short, and our sport clothes are usually the ones that need the most washing! The song at the end of the cycle always makes us laugh. Large Capacity Backing sheet on back of machine is flimsy corrugated plastic.

Lasted 1 year – I bought it and yes it washed clothes like a trooper, 1 year into the 2 year warranty, it shorted out with a loud popping noise and tripped a circuit breaker in the house with "ERR 1" displayed on the panel. It would not open the door and had to wait 2 days for the repair man to show up and rescue my clothes only to find out he needed to order… Read more

parts. The parts came and still more parts were needed. What annoyed me more than anything was having to wait a full TWO WEEKS for the thing to finally get fixed. Don't get me wrong, I understand machines break, but come on!

Now here we are 1 month after the repair and again, the exact same thing happens; loud pop, sparks, and circuit breaker tripped. Once again my clothes are being held hostage by this washer and I have to wait 2 days for a repair man to show up. I would expect a large investment like a washing machine to last more than just 1 year, but more importantly, I would expect the company they subcontract out to repair their machines to work longer than just 9am to 5pm. SERIOUSLY? Now not only do I have to cart my laundry around town looking for a laundromat, I have to take off work and wait for some technician who doesn't speak a word of English to show up "sometime" between 9 and 5. This piece of "made in China with the cheapest possible parts and labour" bull has lost all my confidence now and the Haier brand will be forbidden in my house.. At this point, I just want to get my clothes out and they can haul this worthless paper weight to the dump and I'll go buy another brand. Easy to use, heats its own water Not very reliable, customer service is poor, scheduling service is a nightmare as repairmen only work Mon- Fr 9 to 5

Wonderful value for money – In 2001 I bought an LG front loader. Lasted for about 7 years before the bearings broke. I replaced it with an expensive Maytag front loader. Got a whole 3 years out of that piece of rubbish. I came to the decision that washing machines have become disposable so bought a top of the line cheapie, the Haier HWM1480GFL. I mean, if you have to throw… Read more ·  1

the thing away in a few years why waste spending extra money?

I have been pleasantly surprised. It washes well, plays a nice little Chinese tune when it's finished, and comes across as a very honest appliance. I really like it. One trick with them is they like to be switched on before you close the door. If you close the door and then switch it on the door will pop back open. It's ok, you can close it again and all is well but it is just an ideosyncracy for this machine.

I leave the door ajar when idle to stop mould but that's a habit I have from previous front loaders.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. And you'll like the tune at the end too!! :-)) Value for money, washes well, clothes come out pretty dry Door pops open if you turn it on after closing

Washes Brilliantly – Bought one after I moved house 3 months ago. It's a simple machine that tells you a rough time for how long the wash will take - the quick 25 minute wash is great! Better yet is you CAN ADD CLOTHES anytime you wish as long as the water isn't above 60 degrees or on a large load. The washing machine doesn't drain all the water out so you don't… Read more

waste water.

The fact that you can wash on a true cold cycle is excellent!

Wash quality has been the same as any other brand like Bosch or Euromaid which I have used and I have had no issues so far. I purchased one at SA Appliance Warehouse in Adelaide for $599 brand new. TRUE cold wash, add clothes anytime.

Would not have another haier if you gave it to me – The day my washing machine was delivered ran a wash with only a few items. Got to the spin cycle and it shorted out with a visible spark flash. Only 90 minutes after delivery. Had the retailer replace it immediately with another washer and ran through one wash. On the second was the machine stopped part way through and tripped the safety switch.… Read more

kept coming up with a error 1 code. The door will not close so will not start. Will demand a replacement with another brand. Never will haier darken my door again. Must be a new world record , two in one day.

It is a piece of junk.

Big decent washing machine – Been using this for a few weeks and have not had any issues with it. It washes really well, has a fast 25 minute quick wash and spins really fast as well. It's definitely not a jet plane taking off either. However I was very pleased with the wash options and how well it did perform.. Washes Well

Washes very well – I have been pleased with my purchase of my 8kg. I don't understand why people would want to pay $1500 for a 6.5kg. I like the 20 minute wash and it's weight sensor is a good idea. I have had no problems with cleaning clothes or any residue which is good. Also you can have a real cold wash cycle which is useful too. Paid $599 from SA Appliance… Read more

Warehouse and they are a great washing machine. Buy one and you'll be pleased with the results. Washes great Not super quiet - but is easily bearable

Was good for awhile, than it became alive!! – Was an excellent machine for a few months. Than it became very loud in the spin cycle. After around 1 year it started leaving black marks on clothing, one week later it stopped with a might grinding noise. As the only repair place in Toowoomba are dodgy and over priced, I have looked at it myself. I pulled it apart and found the internal drive… Read more

shaft bearing to be in many pieces and the rear one not too much better. A very disappointing find, albeit one I can fix. Even tho this was a gift, it is a poor result. Uses little water, cleans well (if not over loaded), accessable during loads if needed Haier NOT easy to deal with, long cycles and VERY HEAVY. Messy to clean out filter
