short lived machine – Bought this machine 3 years ago, washes clothes really well, spin cycle great, random times 8 minutes is about 15 etc. but now the main computer gone, $200 to replace plus $125 call out, plus labour, I think we will stick with a better-known brand next time. I was hoping for 10 years plus use out of a machine. A piece of junk don't buy. Show details
Great front loader – An excellent product I purchased after my older Haier gave up the ghost. Fear not, before that one I had a Maytag (terrible) and an LG (bearings). The Haiers seem to dwell on the 8 minute mark, obviously waiting for a signal to move on to the next stage. I don't see it as a fault, she just likes to take her time. I suggest the use of Bosistos… Read more
Eucalyptus washing detergent directly into the bowl (not the dispenser). It doesn't have the bulking up filler many others have which gunk up the pipes. Further, use white vinegar instead of fabric softener. Your machine will love you for it and no, your clothes won't smell of vinegar, as it rinses well. The machine washes well (use the economy cycle as a rule) and have had no problems whatsoever with it. The washer is pretty quiet in operation too. Sadly Haier have deleted the little Chinese tune that used to play on my older model when it was finished. The soft beeping of this model pales into significance.
*UPDATE January 2024* Our Haier does at least 6 loads every week, week in, week out. Has started to sound a bit like an express train in a tunnel so it was time for new bearings and seal. I sourced them ($80 total) and did the job myself over the weekend. Took my time, followed an excellent Youtube video step by step.. She is now like brand new. She lives on!
Read the manual lol – Bearings will fail in most front loaders if overloaded lol. Wash cycles will be delayed if your water pressure is low (says in manual). Error 6 or 7 is motor but mostly it's just a wire come off. And as front loaders syphon the fabric softener it need to be quite thin. Just put in a little water into the bottle and it will be fine. OK this… Read more
washer is great short and long cycles pre wash and child lock (delay and start/stop buttons together).
Pretty quite operation the water pump could be quieter. But who sleeps in their laundry?
Omg 1400 rpm spin cycle, the clothes are nearly dry when finished lol
Great washer :)
customer be ware technician is not honest – DAY 1 - bearings gone This is the replacement washing machine brand new Technician - FISHER & PAYKEL WILL NOT BE HONEST OR DO HIS JOB. 2013 now 2016 - BEARINGS - noise there day 1 Tech blamed it on my uneven floor (the noise) loudness of it. I believed him until someone else said " bearings" !!! I purchased a Haier washing machine… Read more
front loader after 18months was given a replacement. The replacement is HAIER HWM80-1403D they installed it 'Fisher&Pykel'. I called THAT DAY technician came out within 2 days of new machine - brand new, technician told me that the 'NOISE' was just that the legs needed to be adjusted as my laundry floor was uneven. However the noise continued and I went on what the technician said that it was 'normal'. Then my mother had a fall and her health deteriorated in hospital again and again : she passed away on the 20th October 2014. I hardly used the washing machine as I was with my mother a lot prior to her death. Then my high school sweetheart came along (after 36 years) was there for me through the grieving process... Got married moved in to his home and began renovations on his house while the washing machine sat there not used for over 2 years then after finally selling my house and laundry renovations complete put my washing machine in started using it : our builder said straight away "is that your washing machine? Wow that is loud, the bearings are gone!"
WARRANTY IS FINISHED AND WHEN I ORIGINALLY QUESTIONED "THE NOISE" and was told BY THEIR TECHNICIAN IT WAS JUST MY UNEVEN FLOOR AND IT WAS FINE, I could have had it sorted under warranty. I WAS DELIVERED A MACHINE WITH BEARINGS ALREADY GONE. ???!!!
Is that how FISHER&PAKEL HONOUR THEIR WARRANTY? They bought HAIER OUT and are responsible for the lack of product quality and 2nd time round said initially if it was a manufacture issue due to length of time and under the circumstances ( as IT IS - IN THEIR NOTES ABOUT NOISE AND TECHNICIAN COMING OUT 2 days IN RECEIPT OF NEW WASHING MACHINE) they would fix it. Same Technician comes out states the obvious as my BULIDER SAID "BEARINGS GONE" and now ....want to charge me labour?
If the technician was honest and did his job in the first place I would not have to be dealing with this now!!! How do you do that ? Second time round deliver a brand new washing machine faulty from day 1 and it is recorded and noted : nothing done - I trusted the technician and now I m going to be charged labour.
Not only that .....but the machine has to be taken to the work shop (fortunately we have my husband's washing machine which is a LG Fuzzy Logic 8 kg and has been brilliant for 10 years). Then once my machine is assessed they will decide.
I have always thought highly of Fisher & Paykel : kids toys etc etc as a QUALITY PRODUCT. While the product is quality be warned about their customer service or lack of in taking responsibility and honouring their other product HAIER. Don't always go by what their technician says. It's a sad day when you have to get a second opinion, especially while a product is still under warranty and not wanting to take responsibility for faulty workmanship, or do his job!
In 3 years - I use a washing machine almost every day and usually more than once as I have done a lot of renovating and lots of washing. In that 3 years endured the loss of my mother, almost lost my husband we only just got married September last year - February this year he had a stroke, while I had appendix out. That machine if it had been used as I normally would have used it would not have lasted 3 years. Due to unforeseen circumstances - that technician should have done the right thing. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MACHINE OR ANY OTHER HAIER WASHING MACHINE.
Technician told me : on first machine I don't put enough washing in.
My floor is not even.
I need to make sure I use front loader washing powder - even though on my washing powder box it clearly said FRONT LOADER.
So many excuses and once warranty gone ... It's the bearings ? It's the same noise from the day it was installed! Not happy! Not acceptable!
Loud, Long Cycles And Now Broken! – We got our machine in May 2014 and now 18 months on it doesn't work. We had a tech come out today to suss out the problem and we need a new board in the machine after having an ERR05 message come up during the wash cycle. We now have to wait over a week to have a working machine again. Not handy with a family of 5!!
Rubbish – Bought this machine 2.4 years ago and have had nothing but trouble from day one. First the dispenser draw was replaced twice. Then 6 months later the bearings were replaced. Then a year later bearings replaced again. Now it's just out of warranty err 7 came up which means motor. So I rang customer service and they wanted to charge me $135 + parts.… Read more
Safe to say that the machine is on it's way to scrap metal and I have purchased a well known brand. Do not waste your money on a Haier product. You'd think you'd get more then 2.4 years out of a machine. RUBBISH!!!
Good but Frustrating – I like my washing machine but l have two issues that frustrate me. Firstly, my machine wont disperse the fabric softener and only after l brought it a sales assistant said l shouldn't really be using it anyway. The repair guy had a try and fixing it and couldn't. Secondly, l understand front loaders take longer to wash, so that is why l take… Read more
advantage of the "delay timer" where l can set my machine to come on at 4am and be ready for me to hang out at 6am. Only trouble is my machine cant tell the time and its always late. Usually washes are 30 to 40 mins late which is frustrating as it lm rusing l dont have time to hang out before work and it sits in the machine all day. Sometimes washes can take as much as 50% longer. The repair guy wasn't surprised and in fact said it was not uncommon.
Other than that and the savings l make on power, water and fabric softener, its great.
Great wash all the time! – I purchased this washing machine at the beginning of the month. I have been very very pleased with the results of this washing machine, even though it's not a popular brand. I found out Haier actually own Fisher and Paykel, I figured that the brand must be reliable and they sell to many countries throughout the world. Hence why I purchased it. … Read more
It's no Miele or anything but it definitely does the job, I always use the quick wash or the mixed wash and have been happy. I find sometimes the washing machine runs a little longer than what says on the screen but It washes really well and there are no smells in the machine, I think this is because of the anti mould rubber seal.
Surprised by this washing machine but very pleased with the money I spent. Washes well and it's easy to use.
wash time – wash cloths well but the added 40min to the displayed time is a bit of a joke a standard 1hr 26min takes 2hr and 18 min have ask them about it with no answer to why. this machine is only 1 month old and all ready had the motor replaced but when the tech came out the plug had come off the motor. well after all the problem with it the machince is… Read more
washing about 15 minutes longer then the displayed time sure beats the 40-50 minute time diffrence. A big thanks to [name remvoed] in QLD for taking the time to help sort the problem out. wash clothes well desplayed are 40+minutes longer
