Haier HWMP55-918 (5.5kg)

I have had this washing machine for many years and I actually got it for free although I only do a wash a week. It had a U.S dime caught in the pump so it was given away as faulty. Never misssed a beat, my clothes never come out tangled so I dont know why people have that problem. My only complaint is that it takes forever. I use a single rinse and medium wash. Maybe I should try rapid? Medium takes an hour or something like that. Show details

Don't buy it – I brought this washing machine based on CHOICE advice about 4 years ago and haven't been happy with it. I'm buying a new washing machine. The drum isn't working now. However it has never cleaned my clothes well- there is always lint and the clothes are really tangled at the end of a circle. Does a good job for the price – It does a good job, the only issue is it get unbalanced easily so you have to keep an eye on it. It is semi loud, like that it beeps when it's finished. It does have plenty of settings so you have plenty of control over how long it takes and what kind of wash you need.  Show details

recommend you set it to spin dry for a additional 10+ min at the end of the cycle as the standard profiles dont spin dry long enough

Great for me and my partner – This washing machine is good enough size for my partner and I. never had any issues with it and have had it for a year and four months and is very affordable. I like the lint catcher that you empty as well.

Washed well for me. 1 load a week. I live in caravan and have no ideas how to access it without taki – I'm thinking it's belt slip but gunned cost a bomb to get fixed. Anyone else have this problem. Work clothes is what I usually use. Office assistant. The clothes dryer is great. Just cant pump the water out and I'm not wringing them dry. Or emptying the bloody machine every time.  Show details

Worst machinr ever – Cleans clothes terribly, also rips them, stupid settings, loud as and filter bag doesn't catch anything. Have had this machine 4 years it has now totally given up the ghost. Every load it unbalances and sounds like it's going to fall apart. I've viewed and operated). It takes ages to fill with water for a cycle then is very haphazard with the wash. It takes ages to go thru a cycle. Frankly, even though they're cheap, the logic with this machine is much worse than "fuzzy" !!

After 18 months limited use, just out of warranty, its stopped working altogether which I'm rather pleased about. Means I can go and buy something I know is reliable, like an F & P top loader. I should never have gone to another brand simply because it was cheap.

Absolutely amazing – Even the express cycles clean the clothes really quickly and they come out so fresh and clean. The lint capture does often need emptying but that’s not really an issue. not happy good price but not quality – sometimes washes ok but on spin cycle you have to chase it across the room.Appears to be out of balance possible springs not strong enough or incorrect tension. would not buy another.lint filter had to be filed to fit.now I can remove it and clean .control is reasonable to navigate. wife cannot get used to it.  Show details

Cheap, and does the job, but certainly not gentle – I've had this machine for three years, it cleans and rinses well, but it gets unbalanced quite easily. It is very loud when doing the spin cycle. I found the lint filter quite difficult to get in and out. I wouldn't recommend it, because it really tangles the clothes badly - the washing comes out of the machine in a single bundle, and it's very hard to untangle without stretching and pulling.  Show details

Good machine for the price! – This is a small machine, but if you don't have large loads then it's fine. It's easy to install, and simple to use. It makes a moderate amount of noise during use. On a couple of occasions it has made a tiny hole in an item of clothing. I use Cold Power washing powder and it cleans clothes well on a cold cycle.  Show details

The Ripper – Eddy 6/10/17 it is a ripper! it rips the cloth right left and center . how can it wash and rinse ??? when all the clothes are in one big knot,even Houdini would drown if he hd to entangle it under water maybe thats why it stops twice so you can entangle ityourself the fluff filters clogg up completly ,so the fluff sticks to the clothces The machine is one year old and on monday I bring it to the tip Then I buy a proper Washingmachine !!!!!!  Show details

holiday makers. To that end I perhaps should have bought a machine with a larger capacity. Tourists from overseas don't necessarily give a damn about how they use something like this and tend to pile everything in and the capacity.

It has however to this time, performed very well. I did have some issues with the finished wash being very wet to the point of almost dripping on the line, but spoke to the dealer and she made a few tweaking suggestions and I am now very happy with my finished wash.

I am doubtful that it will be a long lasting machine, but only time will tell.

Very short life, terrible! – Bought in March of 2014. About 1 year late, leaking from water pipes. Now, just after 3 year, it die. The shortest life in all my washers bought in last 20 years. It should normally last at least 10 years. So, you got what you paid. Would not buy it again.  Show details

You get what you pay for – This machine works good. It gives a good clean wash. It was definitely well priced. The few minor issues which are more annoying than anything. You have to press through every level to get the water level you want. It is a bit noisy and as there is no centre agitator the clothes get very tangled. Excellent machine – Bought over 3 years ago for under $300, still working perfectly, ideal for small apartment, very happy with it. The only downside is the selection panel can be confusing to older generation as mother hates digital display. not impressed by the way it left detergent marks all over your clothes and sheets. Hubby always complained how the towels came out stiff and hard. The Haier washing machine washes everything well and everything comes out clean. I have not had any trouble with clothes tangling or towels being stiff and hard. The only slight negative I have is that is makes a small squealing sound when it is filling with water. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy Haier again as I am very happy with it and it is very user-friendly.

Very poor product – I've had the machine about 2 years. very poor rinse even with 2 long rinses; very poor spin even at 7 mins the laundry is still quite wet. And as for fisher and Paekyl...the machine wouldn't spin at all...the first appointment I could get for a repairman in Wellington city, was 10 days....he said the problem was not covered by the extended warrantee I'd paid for. The latest problem..the lid stuck shut and I had to lever it open and one hinge popped out and I can't work out how to put it back in...so the machine doesn't work...

This is the worst Washing Machine on the market! – This has been the biggest waste of money that I have ever spent. Approx 6 Months old and its only for for the dump. The wash cycles are very basic, as is the ability to control the temperature. Fuzzy Logic is utterly useless, as it will sometimes overfill the drum causing water to splash over the sides into the body of the machine, so expect rust.

This machine will ruin your clothes, guaranteed. You’ll find them tightly tangled at the end of every cycle, a mangled mess of clothing that can be lifted out in one ball. The result, stretched t-shirts, holes in towels and knackered elastic left, right & centre.

We’re disposed of this machine after just 12 months of use, save yourself this expensive lesson.

Exellent – Hi I have only had it this machine for less than a week but is been very good very easy to use a wonderful machine to have in my home I did have a front load but had to part with that due to health reasons I won't go back to a front load again.

Great little washer – I just got this machine this week and i really don't know why so much negative reviews on it for, it washed perfect does no tangle the clothes at all and i done two loads one small and one large, and ii cleaned washing better than the crap Ezi set Simpson i had, I totally recommend this washer.

Going well – Had it now for a couple of months - it washes, rinses and spins very well, but leaves clothes tangled after final spin. Gives a vast range of options at all stages, which can be confusing. I paid a bit extra and got a 6-year in-home warranty, just in case it has reliability issues. Early on, but at this stage I say it's fair value for money.

Too much troubles – Stopped draining after a couple of months due to a button stuck inside. Not covered by warranty and not easy to get whatever is stuck from the washer. Cost a fortune. A year later the same story. This week all soapy water got out in the middle of the cycle. Had enough - dumping it as too expensive to fix. Also, tangles and tearing clothes when is working.

bit of a problem machine – I have had this machine for 2 yrs + now...its not so crash hot on washing, doesnt collect the fluffy stuff, it leaks all over my floor and now wont pump water out of machine...I got a repair guy out and he says he's never seen a water pump like this has and not sure if he can replace it...what is the good of that?? so $120 later my machine still not fixed

Bad Machine Dont waste your money – I have had this machine for 2 years. It has been not performed as it should, 2 service call out and still has problems.
