DOES THE JOB – It cleans the clothes well. It does sometimes become unbalanced but that was due to me overloading. Easy to use and understand digital controls and 4 years later it has been faultless. Value for money for the price paid and like all items you buy you can get a lemon reading the other reviews. Would I buy another one : YES I take this as a… Read more

grain of salt as I purchased a luxury car brand new and had endless problems and no joy from the car sales or the manufacturer and in the end traded it in after 18 months for an Australian built car. Due to guidelines I can not name the vehicle.

Still a great little machine – This is my 3rd review. Purchased second hand about 2 years ago as a"temporary" solution to our problem, it has only stopped once with a minor electrical problem / short - probably averaging 2 washes per day; it gets a real hammering - linen, doona covers, small blankets, dressing gowns - you name it, it copes with it all.

Ruined my life for a week – Gather around children, for I have a tale of woe and despair. In 2006 this seemingly harmless yet latent beast came into my life. Used it for about 5 months without a hiccup. I moved and it went in to storage until February 2013. For all intents and purposes, it was a 5 month old machine when I started using it again. Slowly, things… Read more

started to go wrong. The thudding sounds other reviewers talked about were a per-use occurrence due lack of its ability to balance the load. Boy is it violent. The spin cycle, when not in earthquake mode, began to sound mechanically unwell, as though someone had put plastic spokes in the machine that would rub up against the barrel every rotation. But up to "the day" there was a more troublesome problem brewing.

About 1 week ago, we put on a load and went out shopping. I really wish I'd not done that, but it's too late for should-haves. Upon returning to our apartment, we were greeted with an aquascape I'd only thought possible in the movies. Water. Carpet. $7000. No insurance. No house to live in for the next week.

A pipe had detached underneath the beast, unleashed its fury into our laundry, along with just enough lint to clog the grill on the drain that would otherwise have saved me from experiencing what some folk from Toowoomba probably went through a couple of years back (ok, to a lesser degree).

Now I've got someone messaging me from Gumtree offering $25 for a broken machine (and broken dreams) and that sounds pretty bloody good to me.

I wish nothing but failure to Haier.

On with life. Someone is expressing interest in buying it for $25! $7000 to replace the carpet, and made my wife cry.

Lasted 6 years but with several repairs – I bought this washing machine 5 years ago as it was cheap and within the first year, I had to get it repaired as the machine was jumping around like crazy. It would literally move around when it was on the spin cycle and make really loud thudding noises - enough to scare your neighbours. I had to get it repaired about 3 or 4 times after the… Read more

initial service due to the same problem. In the last 2 years it's been working but it is SO loud! I am currently waiting for it to die so I can buy a new one. Cheap Many repairs, very loud, doesn't wash properly

Terrible – Good God !! Who wrote that positive review ?? Must have been a staffer at whatever company built this ridiculous excuse for a washing machine. Fortunately, I don't own this piece of crap, it's installed in the temporary accommodation where I'm working. If I did own it, it would be out in the shed alongside the Ariston mistake I inherited. It… Read more

fills very nicely, and appears to wash the load, but is actually quietly tangling each piece to the extent that a small knife would be handy to undo it's work. During this 'washing' period it seems to be in 'fluff-finder' mode, and evenly distributes any fluff it gathers throughout the load. It signals the end of the wash cycle by giving two or three loud thumps as the enclosed ball of clothing bounces around inside the bowl and then stops and tries to even up the load by adding water and trying again. I let this process continue the first time I used the machine, but now I simply turn it off, redistribute the load after untangling the clothing, and set it to 'spin'. When I turn the power on again the spin cycle starts and I support the machine while it decides if it can actually spin this load.

The rinse cycle is accomplished by starting the wash cycle again, without detergent, and then repeating the spin cycle drama at the end.

If I had actually paid money for this piece of junk I would be seeking a refund because it seems to be way beyond the scope of any repair facility to make it perform as a washing machine. It's nice and white and has a lot of flashing lights. It doesn't work !

Terrible – This is indeed a poor product. I bought it the same day and now i will return it for another and will push for this and hopefully i'll get the results. Basically E2 error, meaning the door isn't closed or whatever. Read a few other post and it seems to be fixed in unconventional methods, rang their customer service line and it is poor. As… Read more

a consumer in AU we have the right to claim a refund or negotiate other terms based on your states office of fair trading. Check it out and if you ever come across this and unfortunately bought it...i tell you go back and get a refund or swap products.

This is what i'll be doing and there is no way in hell i'm keeping this junk. It "seemed" compact and the price was right. It didn't function. Poor Customer Service.

Terrible – Five year warranty definitely comes in handy. Don't purchase it. Waste of money. Compare! Compare! Compare! Take your time selecting a washing machine. Electronic touch controls easy to set the machine to your preferred wash. Fuzzy logic is working - so far. I've been using this machine since May 2007. The machine is very rough even on… Read more

soft/gentle wash selection. It has manage to break a metal attachment on my pockets of a pair of cargo pants and snapped plastic adjustment of a sinlget/bra.

Every wash is tangled even on a soft/gentle wash selection.

Most recently it is starting to make a thumping sound at the beginning of each wash.

"Automatically selects water level and wash time" this feature does not work. It always defaults to 4 litres approx 40mins wash time. It doesnt make a dfference it is 7 business shirts or 4 extra large towels.

Bad – Well, I should have realised something was “fishy” when the girl in Harvey Norman used the fact that Haier is a sponsor of the West Tigers rugby as a selling point failing to note any other attributes. But alas, due to its small size needed for our small apartment and cheaper price, I thought why not….I mean a company that sponsors such a large… Read more

rugby league team couldn’t be that bad…could it?

Wrong, wrong, wrong, in fact I think Haier may have unearthed a new geographical layer of wrongness.

To cut to the chase I had all the same problems every other disgruntled consumer has had. I bought the washing machine, it broke in the first month, I used the sympathetic approach with their customer service to try and get it fixed pronto (after all I had only just had a baby and needed to wash everything all the time) obviously that didn’t work because Haier has zero customer service.

After several more menacing calls to Haier they finally sent out a technician 4 days later to look at the machine, he said pretty much what all the others consumers technicians said “crap machine/company, will take up to 6 weeks to get a part” when he said that it would take that long to fix we got on the phone quick smart and threatened our way to get the machine fixed or replace it. Haier stated that they were under NO obligation to replace the machine but agreed that 6 weeks was excessive. To cut a long irritating story short we ended up getting the machine fixed 2 weeks later. It has been 5 months since then and so far no more problems but I won’t hold my breath that there won’t ever be another one after reading was other customers have gone through.

One final thought, My mum bought her Fisher and Paykel washing machine 13 years ago, late last year (after 13 years of problem free washing) the control panel went, despite the fact the warranty was long gone and the displacement of the old technology, a Fisher and Paykel technician was out at her house within 1 day of making the phone call and fixed on the day it for a very small price. The advice here is clear, if you can, save the extra money and purchase from a good reliable whitegoods company that has good service. Do not buy Haier! Small, fuzzy logic (kinda works Cheap and really bad customer service

Terrible – I was totally stunned to see the positive review for this product. I purchased one over a year ago and have been sorry every since. It has a number of flaws and problems and we encountered all new levels of fluff on the normal cycles. This is a review from a long-time owner of one of these models. I am so unhappy with my purchase, I will… Read more

possibly never purchase another model of anything made by Haier, but I'll provide as objective a review as I can under the circumstances, and feel it fair to say that you should read this the review of a very unhappy customer.

I bought this after my trusty Daewoo (Yes, they did make washing machines) broke down after 7 years of service. I used the logic that a cheap asian brand I hadn't heard of would be good value if it had a good warranty. After all, it worked for the Daewoo.

So when I bought this model from Retravision, I thought that for the price, it seemed excellent.

But I made a big mistake. Before I bought the Daewoo, I called service centres. Opinion varied, but it was generally considered a functional model and was well serviced. I didn't do the same for this model. Instead I looked on the Internet and found that Haier claimed many records for their Australian products, so decided to give them a go. I wish I had called the service centres first.

Firstly, this washing machine doesn't seem to have a 6 Kg capacity, although it is marketted as such, I've even had Haier suggesting to me that I'm overloading it. To put this in perspective, it's small. Very small. Compare the inside volume with other models and you'll see what I mean. It's about the size of a 5 Kg model, so I'm suprised it would be possible to overload it, although we put a lot less in it than with our old 7Kg washer so I don't beleive we're overloading it.

It broke within 3 months of new and we had to get a new part...

That's when we realised we had bought a model we would regret. Not only that, but the parts weren't available and weren't going to be available for a while!!!

This is a washing machine, so consider that in less than three months it breaks and the manufacturer tells you you're going to have to fend for yourself... This is such poor service, that it's enough reason to avoid this model by itself.

But the repair people absolutely ripped into the company when they came around, telling me that we would be better off just buying a new washer of a different brand and getting rid of it. When the repairer showed up, we said "It's got a long warranty" and he said to my wife "Then you'll be seeing us every six months.".

Well, we put pressure on them to fix it quickly and they did manage to find us a loan model.

Fast forward to a few weeks back. - It broke again. Same fault. The agitator in the bottom breaks free from the hub like a broken wheel. These just don't seem to be able to handle the load.

This time we were prepared. We had picked up an old washer a friend threw out and put it in the shed, so at least we could wash clothes. It took two weeks to get the part and we left it in the garage so they could fix it and told them to just leave it there when they were done. We took our time putting it back, because the old washer was doing a comparable job.

Finally we put it back because the old washer's noise level had us worried (and up at night) and the Haier is working again, but we're not happy and I had to promise my wife that if it breaks again, she can buy any model she likes.

Also the magnet that tells it the lid is down keeps falling off into the wash, which causes lots of problems.

Basically, we don't like it and can't imagine anyone else liking it. We don't feel we overload it, but when we described our usage to the manufacturer, they suggested we were overusing it (Once to Twice a day they suggested was too much, but we pointed out that if it was being used within specification, that this shouldn't be a problem).

The problem seems to be in the strenth of the plastic part that spins in the bottom. The middle just breaks too easily.

We also have problems with fluff more than we did with either of the other two, although on gentle cycle it's not as bad. That's purely a subjective opinion though.

Otherwise, it works acceptably. Sometimes it makes bad noises, but generally it's OK. Sometimes it seems to fail for no known reason, but resetting the power seems to fix that.

Two faults in one year... Not a very solid model in my opinion. Two broken agitators and one gearbox we were told.

If you're looking for a 3 to 4Kg model, then this is probably fine, but it doesn't compete with those models well in my opinion.

We've also encountered other people with the same problems, so anecdotaly, they don't seem to be a good value product.

In my opinion? Don't let the long warranty entice you - unless losing the washing machine for a couple of weeks every six months doesn't bother you.

And to Haier - You really need to work on your customer service as much as your products... Is it really that hard to ship in an agitator? I can get stuff sent to me from China the same week I order it, so two weeks to get a part is too long.

To anyone considering this model? Call Haier and ask who services their washing machines in your area. Call them and get an opinion. Although Haier pay them to fix it, I find many of them to be suprisingly candid about their opinions of the model. Lower price, simple to use, fuzzy logic, split lid and fits well in tight spaces. Long Warranty Does not seem to handle capacity well, poor service from Haier and breaks often - seems to have serious design flaws - You'll need the long warranty.

Terrible – We've had our model now for just over 1 month, yet for 22 days of this month we have not had a working washing machine. First impressions: Everything seemed okay, except the washing machine has an incredibly cheap water hose setup which requires the hose to be tightened as much as is physically possible or water will leak out of the hose. Once… Read more

I managed to attach these tight enough, we managed to do a couple of washing loads.

Then, we returned home one afternoon to find that something pump-related had failed, and the washing machine had flooded the laundry, hallway and bedrooms with water.

We managed to drain all the water out of the house and decided that we would turn the taps off after washing now as it wasn't possible to trust that the machine wouldn't do this again.

At this point, the unit was still working. Only days later, it started turning off only seconds after the power would come on. Same pattern each time, press the power button, wait 3 seconds, and the control panel would power off again.

We called haier, who arranged for a serviceman to come and check out the washer. The first time around, he didn't have any parts to replace the circuit board that was dead. The second time he attended he decided that the whole unit needed to be replaced.

We called haier daily and spoke to the ever friendly and helpful (that's a joke, btw. speaking to her makes me feel like a father arguing with his arrogant teenage daughter) Julianne at the service department who advised that once we go through Haier's process of confirming that the device is infact dead, they'll start the long process of actually replacing it.

I'll keep updating with the progress of this because I want everyone to know how much of a lemon this product is. I'll get back to you - once it works. It doesn't work.
