rubbish – had it in box first 12 months & started using it. one day it would spin &the next time it wouldn't spin. you could not wash & spin together. all it was good for is using as a football. we ended up fixing our hitachi that run rings around this junk
Update on Haier Twin Tub washing Machine – It is now going on two years since I purchased the twin tub washing machine. I am even more happy as I have had no problems with it. The lint filter did break at the bottom so I just screwed a screw in so I could attach it back on where it fits snugly. Apart from that minor problem, I have no complaints. After having gone through so many very… Read more
expensive machines, it is a relief to find one that you turn it on and it goes. As for the wash, it is excellent. If I have very dirty clothes, I just leave them soaking for a while. It is water conserving as I do first light soiled load, followed by heavy soiled in the same water. Also, after spinning out dirty water, I reuse the clean rinse water back into the machine. I never overload, as I don't feel the necessity as each wash load is so quick. If I was to purchase another twin tub, I would purchase a larger capacity to take blankets and larger items. I believe these are now available on the market. Fast, Can leave soaking if needed, Water Efficient. No electronic board to bread down. Spinner load could be bigger.
rubbish – purchased this machine because we are on tank water. the filter broke then the spinner leg broke should have been fixed away 2 weeks came back no better. now the spin motor is stuffed. have 4 year warranty should be replaced with a refund or a better model.would never recommend this product to my worst enemy. very expensive and totally not good
nothing but trouble – bought it 14 months ago, after about 6 months the filter panel lugs broke, 6 months for another to arrive from korea, replaced it and the replacement broke after 1 week in exactly the same place. Now the spinner motor has died, fed up looking for another brand!!!! certainly not a haier, thats for sure
Breakdowns with no customer service – Bought the machine in Jan 2012 as the wife only likes twin tubs and there are very few available. Broke down with a burnt out motor and split hose in June 2012 Waited over a week for a sevice tech to arrive. Waited over a month for spare parts to arrive and an additional 2 weeks to have them fitted. The machine worked a further two weeks and… Read more
then burnt out another motor
Waited another week for a tech to arrive.
Promised a new machine and have waited 3 weeks with still no replacement.
At no time was I informed of any delays and continually kept in the dark.
Customer service is non-existant and at the end of August, my wife is still using an old machine I resurrected from the shed with no spinner pump operating.
Never works and the service centre has kept us in the dark during the entire process.
Excellent – I purchased one of these machines about 12 months ago, after a nasty experience with a front loader and before that a top loader which shredded clothes and I must say this has been the best little washing machine I have ever owned, it is remarkably quick due I suppose to the facrt you can basically do 2 loads at once i.e. spinning and rinsing one… Read more
load in the spinner, while washing a 2nd load in the washtub,it is very simple to operate, with a washtub timer,a spintub timer and a wash action selector, standard and strong. It has a very fast spin speed, I find the clothes are nearly dry when they come out of the spinner. This unit and I understand some of the other Haier washers come with a fully comprehensive 5 year warranty which covers service, parts and labour.I would not hesitate to recommend this washer to my friends. simplicity in controls, washingaction is gentler thsan agitator. nothing really although if you are lazy manual transfer of clothes between tubs.
Excellent – Have just bought this little machine after a disastrous (expensive) 5 year relationship with a Maytag top loader (never again). Easy and quick to use and the fact that it is not an fully automatic machine is no big deal. We are a family of four and I can easily do 3 or 4 quick loads of washing before going to work. One of the best factors is… Read more
the small amount of water that it uses and the fact that you can re-use the rinse water for the next wash load. Will be interesting to see my next water bill - the way this little machine works I estimate it will be cut by 75%. Quick and water efficient - quiet and simple to run - 5 year warranty Nothing yet
Excellent – Great machine. Has cut my water consumption for washing by 75%. I can get 2 washes out of the same water, light soiled clothes first then heavy soiled. Recycle the rinse water back into wash side for the next 2 loads. Washes well with less detergent, I use 1 heaped tablespoon powder for a full load wash, & in a short time frame. Use the same… Read more · 2
wash water for the next load with additional of another level teaspoon of powder. Just need to dedicate 1.5 hrs to washing on weekend to get 7 loads done & hung out...easy.
Purchased the washer from Appliances Online for $400 inc delivery...great buy. Use the star ratings (3 & 3) as a guide only as much greater savings can be achieved than what is listed. I recommend this machine to everyone. Great water saver, compact size, economical, easy to move around & well finished. Seems good quality for a Chinese manufacture. Was hard to find a retailer which had one in stock to look at. Stores kept trying to sell what they had in store.
Best Twin Tub I have ever owned – I have always owned a twin tub washing machine & have found this model to be the best yet. Great water saver, I can do 5-6 good loads in no time.So I am using less electricity as I am not washing all day. The spinner spins the clothes really dry, so they take less time to dry. My daughter comes to visit & is amazed how efficient it is, says it… Read more
takes her all day to wash 5-6 loads in her automatic washing machine & uses heaps of water. I highly recommend this washing machine. Reliable, inexpensive, energy efficient, water saver & easy to use.
Best kept secret in washing – My wife had been complaining for some time about our NEC top loader. Her main gripe was the fact that the wash cycles with repetitive filling and emptying took so long that 3 loads took her from morning till afternoon. Until I stumbled upon the Haier online I didn't know that twin tubs were still being made. For those that remember the… Read more
Hoovermatic, the Haier is very similar. It has a 15 minute timer for the wash, though we have found six minutes enough for a normal wash. The spin timer goes to five minutes but again, two minutes seems to do fine. One improvement is that unlike the Hoover, the pulsator is on the bottom and not on the back of the tank. This allows a lower "low level" wash. The pulsator runs in one direction then reverses repeatedly.
I believe the machine is much more energy & water efficent than the 3 stars it is allocated due to the quick load times and ability to reuse water from the spin cycle for the next wash load. Indeed one needs to be careful to use the lowest wash level possible, as the pulsator tends to create waves if there is insufficent clothing used in the medium or high water levels. You soon learn the correct load.
For those who don't mind going back to a more manual type of washing than I can thouroughly recomend the Haier. If there is one area where an improvement could be made it would be to the hoses. The filler hose is still the 1950's style push on with no thread adaptor. And the hose for emptying could be a little longer as many laundries now have a recess for the machine and unlike the 50's many tubs are in a cabinet. Inexpensive, energy & water efficent, fast wash loads.
Haier twin tub clothes washing machine - retro satisfaction – Yes, you do have to babysit a twin tub. No expensive digital bits. It's more "hands-on" by nature - having to manually moving clothing from wash to spin tube and turn water tap on and off. The ratings for this one is 3/6 for both energy and water efficiency. That said, I somehow think these modern day ratings, non-existant in the past, are… Read more
unable to factor into account that this yesteryear-type machine can recycle both its wash and spin cycle water. Wash lighly soiled clothing first.
There's no agitator to chew up brand new sheets (ouch!). Washing comes out amazingly dry; I suspect drier than top and front loading single tubs - both domestic and commercial - at least, the ones I've used.
Apartment unit dwellers note: twin tubs (all?) attach to a regular tap outlet. You don't need a laundry specific threaded tap or water inlet/outlet setup. Water drains via supplied hose into any sink (provided sink is higher than the washing tub itself - something to do with water conductivity or capilliary action - or else water will go onto floor). Also, the washer does rumble a little, depending on what cycle(s) are have running.
Time is saved by being able to do two cycles at once. Don't understand? There's - how to use - text and video info online.
Probably a too large a washer to use in caravans. 4.5kg wash load maximum with minimum wash load requirement to work effectively. And if you purchase secondhand, make sure all the parts are present. Download manual online or contact company. Doesn't need laundry specific attachment. Reliable, economical, almost fun. Currently discontinued by company. Instruction manual in broken English.
