shampoo had expired causing the itchiness. I asked the customer care agent why an expiry date was not specified on the product given the potential side effects of using an expired product and the response was that P & G are under no legal obligation to specify an expiry date where the life of the product is 3 years. They advised me to throw out multiple P & G shampoos with codes indicating that they had expired.

Burning and scalp is sore – I used for a week and noticed my scalp was red irritated and burning. I thought maybe I didn’t get it all out so I waited a couple of days and used it again and well same issue. I had the worse scalp pain never agai.

Holy Grail – Amazing! I have fine, thin, oily hair and this shampoo fixes that problem! I've tried many shampoos but I always go back to this one because of all its benefits ! Also worth it for the price. Must give this a go if you're thinking of it !

Good – Drama Clean Shampoo is great for people with really oily hair. My husband swears by this shampoo to help control the oil and grease build up in his hair. shampoo is worth trying if your hair is oily. It's not expensive and does the job. Great shampoo for oily hair. Fantastic fragrance. Is definitely not for hair other than oily. Takes far too much moisture out of scalp and hair. (Not really a con though because the bottle does say for oily hair)

successfully gets rid of my knots, and softens my dry, dead ends. The smell is fantastic! Easy to open and close lid, one bottle lasts a while Herbal essences range is expensive, even when it is on sale.

you experience with this conditioner! At first felt okay mild tingling with cool sensation BUT then it started burning and I literally felt like my head was on fire!!! My neck especially like it was burning! Of course I always put a little conditioner on my face as a moisturizer to make my skin soft well big mistake!!! My face is on fire. Of course this was before I realized that it would burn. Tried rinsing this product out and it didn't help. Been out of the shower now for almost an hour and it still tingling, burning. Protect your family and avoid all Herbal Essence Shampoo and Conditioner – Its sad to say that I will stop using Herbal Essence after 23 years. If they want to replace their ingredients just to save money then I know they don't care. Imagine using this on your child and thinking they were just over-reacting. Well... it burns your scalp! – Using this shampoo and the conditioner burned my scalp. It was very uncomfortable and took quite a while to wash out before I could get out of the shower. I will be ringing the consumer line on the back of the bottle with this Taiwanese product as it is absolutely rubbish. Should have read the other reviews of people that have had the same issue. Burns so bad!!! – This is the first time I’ve used it . It made my scalp and neck and eyes burn so bad. It’s freaked me out like I was having a allergic reaction to I red all the reviews and this is common. My god you have just got yourself in a hell of alot of trouble herbal essence.

Burning – Using this conditioner is not good it burns like hell on my head,eye's and back of my neck. It dries out my hair and also making it notty. Will not ever use the drama clean again n would not recommend it to anyone

Stingling ( that's stinging and tingling ) – This Conditioner smells awful. Like wintergreen, camphor and other inhalant fragrances. My eyes are stinging and I realised that after a week of using I have scabs on my head. I understand the benefits of tea tree to be clarifying but this doesn't even smell like tea tree Essential oil. I would not use this range again and would contact p and g to get another recommendation.

mistake! I was using this shampoo every second day in the confines of a small caravan shower. I could smell a strong chemical smell but I never imagined it was the shampoo! It was difficult to breathe at times & seemed to burn my eyes, throat & lungs. I accidentally got shampoo in my eye & it was extremely painful & my eye was bloodshot for a long time after, despite immediately washing out with clear water. Over the weeks I was using it, my skin became irritated & an itchy rash appeared all over my body. I developed a wheeze & felt breathless. It was Spring, so I assumed this was severe hayfever. I took antihistamine. Never, ever did I even consider it was the shampoo & conditioner, despite the fact I came out of the shower coughing, spluttering & wheezing! You just assume products like shampoo are vigorously tested before they end up on the shelves! My hair became brittle & dry, scalp itchy & flakey. I started to lose hair. Finally, I realised the shampoo & conditioner were causing my problems. I have stopped using it & the symptoms have subsided. This product should be taken off the shelves! I am going to pursue this because I do believe this product is a health hazard. It doesn’t even deserve a one star rating!

April 19th 2018 Update: PLEASE DON’T USE THIS PRODUCT

This is a follow up on a review I did on this product last year. Please, please, please DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! In my opinion it is a health hazard & certainly shouldn’t be used in a confined space without ventilation! It is extremely harsh on the skin, hair, eyes & the fumes from the product irritate eyes, throat & lungs, causing a persistent cough. I have been trying to get this product off the shelves for more than 6 months! I contacted Proctor & Gamble Australia Pty Ltd, Coles, Consumer Protection WA, they suggested ACCC who then suggested I contact TGA! You get the idea! In the meantime the product is still on the shelves & being sold at a ridiculously cheap price! So much for consumer safety!!!

Burns – Used it for the first time just now and my scalp and skin around my hairline and back etc is burning . ???? !!!!! Absolutely not on selling a product that burns customers. Not happy and i am taking this further (higher)

Burning and leaving scabs – I have used this product several times before and when I saw it on sale I was like yes great. However I used it for less than a week and I started to feel the burning sensation after using the conditioner and started to get scabs through my hair. You had a good product and by changing it you have ruined that product. Threw out pretty much a whole bottle.

Burns! – I was using this on my daughter and hadent tried it at first but did notice a strong smell... i started using and realised it burns! Its gives you a numb burning feeling whilst also feeling cold... the burn doesnt go away it sticks around for a good 20 minutes! Its awful... im annoyed mostly at the fact that i out this on my daughters head!!!

Burning my head – NOT HAPPY!!! Right after I'm using the Conditioner while still washing in the shower, my head BURNS. It's like a burning feeling mixed with a cool feeling. This is just terrible. Used this shampoo my head is burning and i have a burning scar below my eye – Won't use herbal essence any more my head is burning and a scar below my eye all red looks like burn mark. I can't put on make up on the burn. Its so noticeable. People ask me how did i burn below my eye.

conditioner – I have only been using the shampoo n conditioner now for only about 4 days, since using this product the shampoo is fine but for some reason and since I haven't used both products for sometime im finding that the conditioner is making my scalp feel like it's on fire and at the same time feeling cold. What would you suggest I do about this ?

Should be removed from shelves – I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for 2 weeks now and it wasn't until I read reviews recently that I realised why I have a red burning rash around my eyes and behind my ears. Since I began using the shampoo this is when I began developing the rash. Terrible product. Goes to show that rigorous testing is not conducted on the product. Threw both shampoo and conditioner in the bin.

reaching for a bottle of the old formular which I fortunately still had some remaining, and used the tea tree one, again with the very unpleasant burning sensation. It is now in the bin and unless the old formular is returned, I will be searching for a new brand of shampoo next shop. Did you not get people to test this product? Does your essence department not realise there is a big difference between soothing green tea and the antiseptic qualities of tea tree which make it very strong and menthol like? It seems lack of market research testing and an ignorant chemistry department is going to cost you a bit of money. A foolish blunder.

Dont scroll down too far – First few reviews are awful, if you scroll down there is some great praise. Note the period between these two. The NEW formula burns your scalp and is awful. l used to love this product, not anymore. Go back to the old formula!!

makes eyes burn like vicks – Not sure what they have done to the formula but now it has a strange menthol smell and burns eyes and nostrils like when you put vicks on. Even my 14yo asked what was wrong with it. I loved herbal essense for years so I'm disappointed.

USED to love this but new formula is rubbish – I've nothing good to say. It smells awful, no longer removes residue and leaves hair feeling heavy yet dry at the same time! Why change a winning formulation to this?!?

new formula beware burns eyes and skin – I find the new formula burns my eyes and skin as someone else previously has wrote as well. I have informed you of the burning and you dont seem to be taking this seriously. Maybe you should check the products as there is obviously an ingredient to strong in there.

New Formula.....Beware – The new "improved" formula now makes my oily hair heavier, no longer states that it is a clarifying shampoo (is now for normal/oily hair) and has tea tree oil which stings eyes and irritates skin. Bring back old formula please. I now have to wash every day and even product won't put body into my now heavier hair.

Drama Clean claims on the bottle it helps with oily hair – I bought Herbal Essences Drama Clean because I have very oily hair. as I feel it did not perform to what it claimed to. I would not recommend this to people I know with oily hair. I am an apprentice hairdresser and thought I would try this product instead of using the expensive shampoos at the salon I work at. My hair did not feel clean at all. Inexpensive and smelled Great! Felt it did not work with my oily hair.
