Such a pity - they used to be great!! – Have used Hippo in the past & they were fabulous. Have to agree with recent reviews, think they must have changed their ingredients/formulas, because now - the crystals just become rock hard and no water at all. Had this one four weeks and not one drop of water (despite it been Sydney's wet ever year LOL) Show details

Terrible product – I have used Damp Rid before & always collected water, however none of these were available so I purchased Hippo brand instead. It has been in the room for months & not collected any moisture. The crystals are a hard rock Show details

NOT AS GOOD AS USED TO BE – What a shame, after years of buying this product, I'm unsure why or if the 'absorber solution' has changed, The absorbing solution used to 'dissolve' & liquid collected into container, but with these latest ones, all they do is go extremely hard, & water does not collect in container, even the slight perfume it used to have is very faint, if any. … Read more

I'm so disheartened as I had tried other products, but found the 'hippos' so much better, but now, if this is what they are going to do, I will have to find another product, where I can visually see how much moisture is collected, as I used to be able to see with hippos.

A Hippo on my bookshelf – I placed a Hippo on my bookshelf and right where the Hippo was placed there was mould on the books right behind it. The other books farther away (left and right) had no mould on them. It was only on the ones right behind the Hippo Moister Absorber. To be frank, I was like what?! Now I'm worried about the other ones I'm using. Show details

The packet hippo has manufactured fault! Be warned! – I've bought the packet kind of thirsty hippo from a renowned supermarket so it can't be fake but after placing for merely a month. It leaked!! Spoiling all my leather bags!! The substance is oily and it can't be removed. A lesson learnt through the hard way indeed!

Very good product... Helps a lot – I live in an old humid studio. I place one of the little sachets in each storage box and it helps a lot keep things with no damp smell. I sometimes don't change them for 6 months and still helps. My neighbours also find it to be a good product. Highly recommended !!!

Used this to Dry out my wet Iphone and saved it :-) – My Iphone got very wet one day when I was using it and stopped working. I bought this product and put the Iphone and this product in a zip lock bag and the next day my Iphone was working fine again. I have also used these in rooms where water would condensate on the windows. This helped dry that and stop the curtains from being damaged by the water.

A great product a life saver – We live on the Sunshine Coast and have a problem with moisture in the home all the time its a battle against mould on everything since purchasing hippos its not a big problem any more I have recomended the Hippos to all my friends so they too can reap the benifits of the Hippos.  Show reply
