space space and more space!!! – Great car that drives well, interior looks great and is easy to clean. the only let down for this car is the running costs. this car uses alot of petrol when being used for everyday driving. There is also lots of problems with the timing chain, mine needed to be replaced before 60,000 km and this is a common problem with this car. there is plenty of details of the fault online.  Show details

Rock solid vx commodore berlina wagon – Very happy withe vx.. fuel economy sits between 9.7 and 11.9 depending on driving type.. it has a bunch of common faults that are annoying but do not affect the operation of the vehicle. the small dash light that luminates the climate control burns out and the sensor for the air bag dash warning light is commonly faulty causing it to beep and… Read more

blink. I got the car at 90k kms and its now at 230k and going beautifully. . no major mechanical bills aside from normal maintenance. roomy, powerful and economical for its size the car feels like it will go for a long time to come. I have the black berlina station wagon which has all the electrics and extras. the car has the space for camping inside and transporting our large dogs.. roof racks for canoes or whatever and a tow bar with great towing power. the only mods I would recommend would be tinted windows for comfort a reversing camera as it can be tricky in car parks and a stereo if u are picky.. highly recommend and would buy again. Reliable, powerful, roomy, great to drive. Can be expensive on gas, small common faults with model, can be hard park

Amazing! – I pre-ordered my Holden Berlina VE Series 2 when it was first announced. The Berlina was my first Holden I've ever purchased. After 3 years I must say buying a Holden was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The car has great power (190KW) and the fuel efficiency is exceptional for a V6 (9.1/100km). The Berlina is quick of the mark and… Read more

always has that extra bit of power when you need it. I will be purchasing my second Holden very soon after such a great experience with my first one. My advice to anyone looking for a new car would to be definitely give Holden a shot it will most likely be one of the best decisions you make! Reliable, spacious, fuel efficient, stylish, powerful, features. Car was shaking a bit at when on idle when I first got the car. But this was fixed after the second service.

Nice solid feel – I purchased a used 2010 Berlina Automatic S/W (50000km) about two months ago, and have now driven it extensively on both city and country roads. Overall, I'm very happy with it. It rides particularly well on rougher country roads, and I would assume that this is due to the traction control. On city roads some might regard the ride as a little too… Read more

firm. The seating is very roomy and comfortable, and with the range of adjustment, well suited to a taller person (as distinct to many Asian cars). There's also plenty of room in the back seat, and in the cargo area. Given the size of the vehicle, the fuel economy has been quite reasonable (9.6km/100 km), and the largish fuel tank is a bonus on longer trips. One pleasant surprise was the cost of insurance. It turned out to be slightly cheaper to insure this vehicle than a 2006 Corolla. It also looks like servicing costs will be relatively low, and at longer intervals i.e. 15000 km. Obviously I can't comment on overall reliability as yet.

It could be a matter of taste, but I did find that the automatic transmission was too quick to change gears especially when cruising on country highways. By that I mean that the slightest pressure on the accelerator caused it to drop down a gear when this was not really necessary. Overall, quite good. Roomier than it looks, excellent on country roads, good radio/cd player and climate control, low associated costs Noisier and perhaps firmer ride than other similar vehicles, drivers side pillar can obstruct vision, tendency to drop down a gear too readily when cruising

Great car, well featured, Aussie made!!! – Love my Holden's they have always been good cars. I like all the gadgets and it has heaps. It uses more fuel than my old one at 10.5 lt to the hundred. The tyres are poor quality and don't hold on. It slides down my driveway when i stop part way up and it's not a steep driveway. But this is only a minor issue as I will replace the tyres when it's down enough Km's to justify it. well made Aussie car.  Show details

Good – This car seats five adults well. It's comfy on medium-long trips. The anchor points in the rear suit all my grandkids seats and capsules quickly. Has the most wanted luxury and safety features in a big Aussie six/eight. Roomy. Caters well for the high and mighty driver (read TALL and OBESE). Airbags. Superb cruise control. Adjustable height… Read more ·  1

seat-belts. Traction control. ABS brakes. POWER/ECONOMY option on auto gearbox. Steering wheel controls for stereo CD/radio. MP3 player not yet available as with Toyota's fleet of Camrys, Aurions and Corollas. (Should be a GMH priority ASAP). Hungry on petrol if not driven smoothly. 11.5L/100km around town and and 8.3L/100km on the F3 freeway

2011 VE Series II Berlina Holden Commodore – Purchased a near new 2011 VE Series II Berlina Holden Commodore Dual Fuel under 11,000ks for just over $30,000. Only had the car now for 6 months, experiencing intermittent starting problems. Taken back to 2 different Holden Dealerships located in Sth Eastern suburbs 6 times, still not fixed, won't replace any parts unless they can prove to… Read more

Holden part is faulty. Taken car back for 7th time, my god the loan car...., break light failure message on display, no heater and the overheating warning message..., no water in radiator! Had to wait on side of road for a replacement loan car. Looked nice Intermitent Starting Problems

Good – This review is of a VZ Berlina that I owned up until April of this year. Unfortunately it was written off in the middle of a round-a-bout by another driver who wasn't paying attention. Up until that point in time it was the best car I ever owned. It's comfortable to sit in, pampers you nicely with a host of features and sports some impressive… Read more

styling. Truly a great vehicle that I like even more than the newer VE range. Wonderful to drive. Quick, responsive and corners without a fuss. Great for city driving and even better on long trips. Fantastic bang for buck. Honestly can't think of any.

Solid family vehical – Has not missed a beat, excellent to drive with power to get you out of trouble and stopping ability if you do get into trouble. Our car is now 4 years old 110Km but still feels tight and all internal surfaces do not show any signs of wear. Tyre wear is good (80K for first set) and other mechanical parts not showing any signs of problems. Fuel… Read more

consumption is OK 8-9 l/100km (My driving is mostly city). Driving the car is enjoyable, I have owned 23 cars so far and this would be the most enjoyable

Now for the problems

When driving you have major blind spots through the front pillers, and I still do not know where the front of the car ends. The bluetooth system is crap if Holden paid more than $20 for the parts they were ripped off. The sound system is basic (but nice sounding) and even a entry level car should have a 6 disc changer.

Edit January 2017: Just had the car back from a service (150km), Mechanically the car is still as sound as when purchased but is now the shopping trolley so does not get much usage.

Only issues : roof lining came down due to Brisbane Heat : CD player stopped working (common issue with Commodore)

Still an excellent vehicle You feel safe when driving, and driving is fun. Some major blind spots

Very pleased with this car – Very pleased with this car. Solid performance, feel safe and stable on the road. Able to pass other motorists with ease. Plenty of storage space and seating room for everyone. Stereo is adequate. Dash is well laid out. Fuel consumption is economicable on the open road, thirsty in the city traffic. Good line of viewing of road ahead and rearview… Read more ·  1

due to location of mirrors and large rear windows. It is a large car, so people used to driving cramped, smaller cars may find it daunting to drive initially. When I first bought it, I noticed that it is very nice to maneuver in car parks (for its size). Reliable vehicle

Good – While we didn't own it from new, it was a great car to drive (except from the 'clunking'). Very comfortable during long trips and had HEAPS of room for rear seats installed to convert it to a 7 seater and house a pram AND luggage for a holiday! Climate control was heaven!! We only had to spend money on general maintenance, all other problems were… Read more

covered by warrenty. The Alloytech sounded a little wheasy, but always delivered the goods. I only wish I could have purchased the v8 version. very comfortable to drive and economical as well. 10.5l/100km city and as low as 8.1l/100km highway at 110km/hr. Had every gadget and more included in the package! Extreemly spaceous! Beautiful car! There was diff clunking in between gear changes 2 and 3. Took it back to holden about 7 times in the year we owned it and it never went away. Was fearful that one-day the diff would shatter and leave us stranded! the thermostat went on it out of the blue (luckily while we were in town) at around 65000km. and it had an intermittent passenger rear electric window problem. every time we took it to holden to get looked at, it would work fine! typical!! Eventually traded it in for a 4wd! Still, I miss it quite a but though!

Good – I am very happy with the car. Nice to drive, it gives that feeling of a better class of car. It is good to know that you have the extra safety feature. The look gives that sports & class finish. It also has the extras of roof racks, fog lights, leather steering wheel, sports dash, climate control. Very nice to drive. The inside is finished of very well. I find that the price is hight for the what you get. Show details
