Update from Past Unhappy Customer – Haven't been on this website for quite some time but I see not a lot has changed, including that woeful rating of 2.9 out of 5 and the Company representative always saying "this is a fictitious competitor comment". He's always proven wrong when the complainant then responds again. Hollywood did our bathrooms 3+ years ago and did a terrible job. … Read more
Subcontractors not skilled; no common sense. This is a clown outfit. I repeat my warning: Stay away from Hollywood Bathrooms!! Trust me, I am not a competitor !!
Quite happy with results – I recently had a bathroom and kitchen renovated in a rental unit. All went very smoothly and all I had to do was choose handles for the kitchen. No quarrels with workmanship or time taken.
Behind Schedule, can't tell time – The project took far Longer than it was supposed to take. They worked outside the agreed hours and could still not finish on time. Simply removed references to when they were meant to finish and working hours.

Awesome bathroom reno! – Contacted Hollywood as one of 3 to quote on a full bathroom reno - 2.5 bathrooms. They were excellent! Provided a comprehensive quote and assisted with strata approval. Easy to book in and stayed in touch throughout. Once they started, they provided times of when people would turn up, which they all arrived prompt and on time. The tradies they use… Read more
are curteous, skilled and think logically. Also super friendly and helpful.
The end product is excellent! Not a single problem. Couldn't recommend these guys enough!
Fantastic Bathroom Renovation – Hollywood Bathrooms were great, from the quote to the finished product. They made the process very easy and made excellent use of the time, to ensure we were inconvenienced from the shortest time possible. We have definitely recommend them to our friends and family.
Quality job at a competitive price – Our bathroom and bedrooms renovation looks great thanks to the team at Hollywood. Quality workmanship and reasonable pricing completed to a well estimated time-frame.
Negative reviews
Stressful and frustrating – Contractors and workmanship was mostly fine. Problems and issue are with the project management, promises and errors in advising their contractors. Agreement is very vague and we were assured email trail will be included, it was not and argued against at the tribunal. We had written confirmation about inclusions to the contract, but then were made… Read more
to pay extra. Justified as not in the actual contract. We finalized and communicated all choices 2.5 months before demolition, Hollywood failed to record, research and prepare. We were told 4 weeks, it took over 15 weeks. Don't do it!

Disaster – What should have taken 8-10 weeks took 6 months. Days would go by and no one would turn up to work. The sub contractors in all areas had no attention to detail. There were mistakes everywhere. Check the contract and have someone in the legal industry before signing the contract. There were variations from day one. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Got the Job Done – We initially met with [name removed] who was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient sending a quote. We felt we would be in good hands with him. What we didn't know was that from the moment you sign with Hollywood, you never see or speak to [name removed] again which is disappointing. Our first day of the job was a disaster. were over zealous resulting in going through pipes affecting our hot water, power, damaging carpet etc. In the midst of this, it was decided that there was asbestos which was going to cost a hefty additional fee. Luckily my husband jumped onto the internet to research this and insisted on an asbestos test which took a couple of hours. This cost $200 and resulted in a no evidence of asbestos so demolition could continue. The demolition guys left our house at 6pm leaving us without hot water overnight. This also resulted in an extra charge of $1,500 for cutting in pipes.
Things improved on day 2 with the arrival of [name removed], the Plumber and chief problem fixer. He was pleasant, reassuring and explained that finding good demolition people is always a struggle. From then on, each tradesperson turned up and fulfilled their part without further mishap. We met various friendly and experienced tradespeople who mostly acted independently. ([name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] all great guys)
The job finished on time (approx. 5 weeks) which was good. The bathroom looks good and we are happy with the quality of workmanship.
However, we were constantly frustrated by the lack of project management and communication with us (above individual trades guys). The business model appears to be in favour of handing over the keys to your house and just let the project happen. If you are looking for a more collaborative approach or would like regular communication from a supervisor/manager then this is not the company for you under the current structure. We were uncomfortable handing over keys and were able to be flexible to be at home however each day we would need to ring Hollywood's office landline and find out what the plan for the day was and what time someone would be due. There was no mobile number given to us so all communication needed to be done by 3pm when the office closed. The office seemed to have a master plan but there was no communication of it to us. Surely an email or text message could have been sent to us with a plan for the next couple of days and updated each morning with changes.
This frustrated us and would probably make us think twice about using them again however it's such a simple thing to change and to give clients a mobile number to call when they don't have hot water at 6pm etc.
Once again, the quality of the tradespeople was high and the outcome was positive. There are just a few service issues to improve.
You advise that the bathroom looks… Read more

"Say goodbye to Hollywood" Exactly the same experince as Sydney1 – Just noticed Sydney1 review and we shared the same experience - this mob did a kitchen and bathroom for us in the Eastern Suburbs in 2012 (so no; this is not a competitor review) same thing. Contract price competitive ($25,615 we supplied PC items), to get the job then your man cracks out the Variation Book (Variations total $9587.50), BANG the… Read more
bloke wrote one variation for $357.50 (all variations on file) for a shut off tap washer (job was never done but- they did refund the money after we took photos and informed Hollywood that our plumber was prepared to sign a Stat Dec). Of course the Lino tiles "contained asbestos" BANG Variation $1980. Wanted bathroom mixer instead of two taps BANG Variation $220. Of course the bathroom floor was rubble and not concrete (he did warn us about this but not that the cost would be so high) BANG Variation $4225.
When you are half way through a reno you can't really get another builder to take over and you generally can't wait until you find another trades person to perform the variation at more reasonable price- so you just have to cop it!
Other stuff - splash-back delivered was not the colour ordered - (it was running last and just wanted the job finished and them outa there)
Hollywood's plumber cracked the toilet whilst installing it and just siliconed the broken piece back together. (Didn't notice this until 6 months after job completed). As soon as we queried excessive charges and poor communication and missed deadlines one office staff member pulled the "offended and outraged" card.
Since then we have put a second story on our house costing multiple hundreds of thousands and used a builder that was a pleasure to deal with and his variations were supplied with the tradespersons invoice with the builder's margin added. Some he didn't even add the builder's margin and just asked us to pay the tradesperson directly because he didn't feel justified in marking it up he "merely made a phone call"
Watch this mob and their variation tactics - personally I wouldn't trust them to sit the right way on a toilet seat!

Bad – I would stay away from these guys at all costs. They put in a competitive price upfront and then try to hit you up for variations during the works to make more profit. When you don't agree to pay the variation they threaten to stop the renovation and force your hand. If you do go with them, make sure you cover every detail in the contract.

Thumbs Up for Hollywood – We just completed our bathroom & laundry with Hollywood and would recommend them. The design phase was excellent. They designed a wonderful laundry, with excellent storage. When purchasing the bathroom tiles and accessories, they came out to the supplier with us to assist in the purchasing of items. The tradesmen Hollywood used were excellent with no delays. We are very happy with our new bathroom and laundry!
Showers that flood bathrooms – If you like open-ended showers, don't use Hollywood Bathrooms. They put water stops at 900mm on the end that is open. Nice flow of water into the bathrooms and a great slip and fall hazard!! Apparently there are no rules to dictate the right placement of the water stops for open-ended showers. Instead of applying good old common sense,… Read more

Would Highly Recommend – All our 3 bathrooms turned out great. Hollywood was a one stop solution for us. All the tradesmen Hollywood used were top notch. The only area I truly believe could improve is the grouting. Even though the tiling was of a good standard, the grouting fell a little short. Overall very happy and if I had to do it again, I would go back to Hollywood.
Hooray for Hollywood! – I've recently had my kitchen renovated by HK and am very happy with the outcome. Extra suggestions by HK to my original plans, including having cupboards extended to the ceiling, have made the kitchen appear bigger and given it a more modern appearance. Family and friends have also expressed how great the new setup looks.
Disappointment – The bathroom renovation was completed however damage occurred which Latti Constructions T/A Hollywood Bathrooms & Kitchen would not acknowledge and accept any responsibility. This diminished the experience with the lack of customer service.

A good job done without any hassles – We have just had a bathroom done by Hollywood, because of a friend's recommendation and after considered evaluation of reviews we find on the net. knew of some uncertainties (the floor was rotted) and Hollywood laid out various scenarios and expected extra costs. They were accurate, and the extra cost fell below their ballpark figure. We went into this job understanding and respecting what contracts are, and what the job entailed. We would use Hollywood again without any qualms.
A professional, prompt and exceptional service – Hollywood Bathrooms (the company) did a complete renovation of my bathroom in 2015. will be renovating her bathroom soon. I have given her the company's details. I also understand unit 9 got a quote from the company after looking at the work they did in my bathroom.
Thanks again for making my bathroom so beautiful. It still looks brand new more than a year later.
I highly recommend the company's services.
Excellent Bathroom Rennovation – Hollywood renovated two bathrooms for us. We're very happy with how the job was managed, and run. We had several visits from Andre, and found the tradesmen to be very good, and very polite. They also did a nice job cleaning up after the day's work. Nothing was too much trouble. The job was completed on time. We're very happy customers.
Fantastic company, couldn't be happier!! – We used this company and found them to be extremely thorough and professional. Andre made many visits to our home to make sure everything was going smoothly and that we were happy. Tradesmen were fantastic, polite and tidy, nothing was too much trouble, and they were very happy to answer any questions that I asked. If there was a problem or… Read more
something was not right, it was rectified within days. As we were still living in our house during our renovation, I was worried the job would take longer than quoted, however the job was completed on time. I have absolutely no complaints about this company and would be happy to recommend them to anyone.
dreadful frustrating experience – We had a bathroom done by this company in 2011 and I can relate to everything Keith writes in the review below (no project management, ridiculous variations, shoddy joinery, finishing about a month over-time, constant battles whereby I had to quote my consumer rights as outlined to me by ACC etc...).We are now living with the consequences of the… Read more
poor renovation (eg leaking out from door of frameless shower, as floor not sloping sufficiently). I am sorry to see that all these years later nothing has changed. Extremely poor - misleading, mismanaged and disappointing – A fundamentally poor experience. Early engagement with the salesman [name removed] was actually very positive but once the contract is signed, you will never hear or see him again. what they are supposed to be doing due to an utter lack of engagement from [name removed] the PM. Rather like other companies, they do quote low and then add on variations but the cost and rationale for each is disgraceful. This includes wanting to charge $1200 to fit a 2nd tap on the workbench, $150 to pick up a single tile for the bathroom (when the amount was miscalculated by Hollywood themselves.) We were also told that removing part of wall was no problem which soon became a $3000 add on which they could have told us in the first instance with a cursory check prior to the work- which happened very quickly after the contract was signed. They provided an embarrassing excuse about 'not wanting to damage our ceiling'.
Perhaps worst of all though, we were given promises and guarantees on the phone and in person which when not supported by email evidence were ignored. The biggest issue for us was a verbal promise to be finished by Christmas which was not met e.g. we did not have a working oven (and please ignore any response by Hollywood which suggests it was our fault for changing the size as this was known weeks in advance). If you use this company ensure that everything is written down for every aspect of the work. Having seen the other negative reviews on the page hammered by Hollywood in quite aggressive tones I would expect a similar response but I would strongly recommend you really do your due diligence on this company. I'm afraid I have limited confidence in some of the positive reviews as well.
I can however strongly recommend [name removed] the plumber from AAA plumbing who was efficient courteous and most importantly, followed through on what he promised.

Impressed with everything – We had a bathroom, laundry and kitchen renovated on a tight budget. All tradesmen were great, tidy, polite and nothing we asked was ever a problem. Simply Lovely – I had a bathroom/laundry and kitchen renovated by Hollywood Bathrooms and Kitchens. very compact and gives me a lot more room in the bathroom and is very spacious. All the men were very nice and courteous and I have recommended them to my friends.
Avoid Avoid Avoid – We went with this company because we thought they were big enough to be accountable if anything went wrong (even though they quoted more than others). Well, things went wrong and they wanted nothing to do with it. Complaints made to the company fell on deaf ears for days until an eventual response where all your requests are challenged until you… Read more
either give up or threaten legal action. You wouldn't believe some of the emails we received! The thing with this company is they always have an excuse and its never their fault. The project went almost three months past the original finishing date. Some issues were addressed (after weeks of emails), others were left for us to complete. In the end we settled for a reduced price to end the nightmare. I would strongly avoid choosing this company!

The work was completed within the specified time and some minor tiling and cabiinet defects were corrected promptly. We are very satisfied with the work and especially our new ensuite and kitchen, both of which have had glowing comments from our friends.
Great benefit to old house – We contacted Hollywood Bathrooms and Kitchens as one of 5 companies for a bathroom renovation quote of our disgusing old bathroom. Agony – I wish I had never let these people into my home. The whole process ended up being the worst experience I have ever endured throughout my 34 years as a home owner. home. The protector sheeting that was put down the first day was secondhand and filthy and I had to replace it at my own cost but the damage was already done to my white wool carpets. The project manager rarely comes on site and never bothered to come and inspect the final product. The tilers turned up with a child of about 8 to 10 years of age who spent the day running up and down the stairs working and was even found at one stage of the day grouting. Andre the owner/ manager is difficult to get hold of and the secretary is rude and arrogant. Taps that were requested to be retained were removed by the plumber and disposed of. The second day of the job I was cornered in my kitchen and told that the demolishing of my bathrooms the day before had run over budget and I was threatened that if I didn't sign a variation for $1,800 work would halt. The estimator over quoted the amount of tiles by 8 square metres and the job progressed so slowly that the tiles could not be returned as they had been ordered and delivered more than one month previously. The excess tiles cost over $600 but no adjustment was made in my favour for the variation of the amount of work the tilers did not have to complete. Sadly I are very disappointed with the workmanship of the cabinets and tiling. The basket of $2 shop soaps, creams and stuff that were given to me for letting Hollywood Bathrooms & Kitchens into my home certainly reflect the values of this company.

Be wary of this company – My wife almost signed a contract with this company for a bathroom she wanted to get renovated. and had been photocopied so many times you could barely read it. When I did read the contract I found that it stipulated large percentages of money to be supplied up front before the corresponding work was undertaken, and harsh penalties to the client if this was not adhered to. In other words the contract was heavily weighted to the advantage of the builder, with little rights for the client. One of my old colleagues now works in the Dept of Fair Trading and they were not able to give me any specifics, but could tell me that this company has a lot of history of complaints and being involved in disputes with clients that end up with the Dept Fair Trading. I also checked the court cases website and found that this company has had a lot of history of disputes with clients that end up going to the Building Tribunal (NCAT). It is therefore my advice to avoid this company at all costs!

Appalling company – We used Hollywood B&K for a bathroom renovation. It was a terrible experience. rarely showed up when they were supposed to. The Builder was rude, stubborn, argumentative, and would not rectify anything. Variations were overpriced and we were pressured to sign or 'be in breach of contract'. We engaged a Building Inspector but Hollywood refused to incorporate the rectifications that the report recommended. We terminated the contract before the renovation was even half complete, however with all the defective work this company still cost us a lot. All the good things this company claim are lies and deception. As soon as you sign their contract you will be trapped. We engaged a decent builder to finish the works and we were very happy with their work. Companies like Hollywood should not be allowed to be in business.
