Lost a star because I can't get replacement filters – Bought mine from Kmart and it works brilliantly. A neat appliance that is used every day by the family. Same problem with water filters – Great machine however, I'm very poopy!!!! Can't get the damn 3 x pack water filters anywhere!! Makes me cross as I only bought the unit in December. They should not sell the machine if they plan to remove off the shelves. Fortunately I bought 2 packs of 3 but no good if I can't buy anymore!!!! GRRRRR!!!!!  Show details

Shame Kmart don't provide consistancy – Nothing peeves me more than buying a product only to have to made obsolete 2 yrs later. In this case the Homemaker Table Top Water Chiller from Kmart. When it works I like it – I like this machine but it does not last the time. It is the right size for me. I have replaced it 3 times now so that says it all doesn't it. March 7th 2017 Update: filters for Homemaker Table Top Water Chiller?

I don't have trouble using my old filters which are the same that are used for other current filtering jugs sold in Kmart..

They did change the filter type of the water chiller from the first models I do recall.

I have now bought a Kmart jug that takes current filter types - ...filter water, and put it in bottles in the frig...because I cannot buy a similar priced auto water chiller. I thought about keeping my broken/discontinued Chiller for just filtering the water at one stage.

could be obtained anywhere. Well of course they can but K Mart just can't be bothered keeping faith with their customers and stocking them. I now have 12 spare filters (Brita FL402 fit perfectly) which will probably out live the cooler but at least I don't have to throw it out and buy a different brand as was sugested.

not use my descaler from my coffee machine to clean the charcoal so I soaked the container in the recommended amount of descaler and water and the filter has never work better and the water is as clean as.just soak and then shake then do it again and you will see all the crap come out.do this till you think the filter is clean and then clean your machine inside and out.works a treat.well hope this help and makes it cheaper than buying new ones .merry Xmas

Why do Kmart contribute to the throw-away society? – I have a homemaker bench top water cooler using the round blue filter cartridges, that I bought in 2011. It has served me faithfully and well through the years and now because Kmart have discontinued this item I am unable the cartridge filters. Perfect bench top chiller for me. No problem purchasing filters – I bought my water cooler from 00.com in January 2017 and so far have had no problems with it. I have just purchased a pack of three filters on line from k.g.electornic who were listed on ebay. The cost was $19.95 for the three with no postage costs. Hope that this is helpful.  Show details

reading the note at the top of this page, that the water coolers are a discontinued line, however I'm sure that the filters would not simply disappear from the shelves overnight. So what I wish to know is where I would be able to purchase, preferably in Launceston, Tasmania, some of these filters.

Kmart should be held responsible for keeping stock Needed for after sale required Items such as the filters, with out the replacement filters it is now a paperweight, Kmart now expects us to buy a new water filter and chiller when in fact we have one that still works perfectly after 2yrs .I Feel Kmart should be sued for selling limited time products which need on going purchase of filters, then just stop providing the service.

Love it! – Mine is still working perfectly after all these years, over eight, and back in 2009, and 2010, purchased two more for work. All are still going strong. Have found it difficult at times to find replacement filters. After purchasing more today, at Kmart, I was told that this make and model is now discontinued. Dodgy - may as well be a kettle – I've just received this as a gift, unfortunately I don't have a receipt and the purchaser threw it away. What a dodgy appliance. I wont use it and it is headed for the bin. I did all the right prep and this morning the water was so hot, like it had just come out of my kettle and it was cold tap water to start with!. litre capacity and the water cools quickly. I didn't realise how yucky my water was until I tried it filtered so only filtered for me from now on. The replacement filters are cheap at 3 for under $20 and they last 6-8 weeks. Great product.

Update 23/12/18. Well my great little cooler has finally died. I pulled it apart and discovered the motor was full of bugs. Can't buy this brand any more so when I get another I will put a tea filter across the air intake. This should stop the bugs but still allow air to flow. BTW, I have never had a problem getting the filters. Will miss this little beauty!

Terrible – Not even cool. Takes hours. And after 5 months it stops working. Your booklet doesn't even give reasons or help of what the problem could be. Fix your cheap product.

thermostat. Found receipt rang K Mart they said to bring it back for a refund or replacement. Would be lost without a bench water cooler so decided on a replacement and putting receipt in a safe place just encase it happens again.

the blue filter is terrible – the blue filter is terrible, I soaked and then washed it many time follow the instruction, but it still has a lot of blue dusts and make filtered water has smell of plastic. I drank a few glasses of it, hope they are still ok for my health. I am gonna return it to Kmart.

Poor design - can't fill you drink bottle – 2 months before new filter is required? Can't fill a drink bottle, or decent sized glass. Room temp is heated by the motor. Machine is loud. Mine is labeled Dome but looks exactly the same as the above homemaker brand. Bought from deals direct. Waste of money, but then I have owned 6 Sunbeam Water Filter Chillers before, and they don't last anyway.

I like it – We have only had our water chiller for about one month and it works fine. I don't use the filter as we have reverse osmosis unit installed. The chilled water is just right.

Good Product – My Homemaker water filter seems to continue to run on the cold/blue light after a few glasses of water have been taken. The bowl is nowhere near empty after only 3 glasses taken from it so why does it still run for approximately 4 hours?

Surprised at negative reviews! – We have had one of these for over 4 years without any major dramas. I soak the new filters in a jug for an hour or two and toss the water which gets a blue tinge. Everyone including the grandkids reckon the water tastes great. Can be a little fiddly to get the water to flow after a filter refill, there is a bit of a knack to it!

Just have to warn people to make sure taps are pushed up after using or can end up with a puddle on the bench...

Can fill water bottles etc.. using a small jug. Compact, cheap to buy and run, quiet, ours has been very reliable, water tastes great! Tap can stick in down position, Bit tricky to get water flowing after filter change (sometimes)

Filter cartridge blocked – Bought one of these from K Mart but after following all instructions about soaking the filter, water would not pass through it. Plenty of black carbon dust came out. I returned it to K Mart the next day for a refund. Soaking the filter is designed to expel the air from the filter. The instructions do warn about the carbon dust. Price cheap at $49. Filter u/s

Breaks down – i have had 2 of these machines and both have stopped working. The 1st lasted a couple of months then stopped chilling. This was replaced under warranty. The replacement worked for a week then the same thing happened. Don't waste your money. I bought a Britta filter jug that I put in the fridge. No more mechanical issues and lovely chilled filtered water! Quiet (even when it worked) Doesn't last longer than a pint of milk

the smell of vinegar disappears. Immediately after this I was enjoying tasteless chilled water. Works well and removes the taste from town water. Need's cleaning before use.

tap mechanism, I am not sure how long the spring will last. It will be interesting to see how long this one lasts as our water filter/chillers have never lasted more than 18months. However, as we paid a third of the price for this one compared to the others, it would not be so bad if it doesn't last any longer. Very compact on the bench, quiet operation, quick to chill water, easy for kids to use, choice of chilled or room temp water, water drip catchment area and great water taste Small water tank, have to be careful to keep topping up. Difficult to fill water bottles.

Terrible – Would not purchase this product again - I've returned it to my place of purchase. Previously owned an Aquaport which lasted 18 months and had no awful plastic taste from first fill. Quiet Water tasted like plastic for days despite changing the water many times. Only lasted 10 days before leaking like a sieve. Buttons for water (chilled or room temp) did not return back to position after use and needed to be pushed back into place manually.

About to replace the filter and waiting to find out how easy they are to get. Have had Brita, and all sorts of water filters before and this would go up against the more expensive ones easy. Terrible – The manufacturer should test their products before releasing to market. The taste of the water is better before it gets filtered. Don't waste your money on this product. Distinct plastic water taste.

LEAKY CHILLER – very poor design - would not hold water. had to return to K Mart - item leaked everywhere....cheap is cheap
