Trouble from the start – From early on, this dryer did not work properly. Regularly, the timer stopped when it got down to 15 minutes but continued to 'dry' so I had to watch out for it as cooling down never happened. Usually it was the burning smell that alerted me. I had the thermostat replaced under warranty but it has continued to happen. This week the motor burned… Read more
out. It is 5 years old so out of warranty. My previous Hoover lasted 19 years so this is very disappointing. I do not recommend
Worst dryer I've ever had – We bought this dryer just over three years ago. It does an okay job of drying, but the lack of a cool option has always been a pain. Within a week of the warranty period ending the water storage compartment cracked and started leaking water all over our laundry floor. Thankfully Hoover replaced it for free even being out of warranty. However… Read more
within a month of that happening the dryer has now started making awful groaning sounds when it is turned on. Not consistently, but it is very loud and concerning. We will likely be replacing this dryer with a different brand asap. Would not recommend.
Bad Choice for Dryer and Washing machine – Last year, I bought a Hoover wash machine and hoover dyc dryer. both worked badly. First, both devices made a lot of noises when they were working. and It made my house even shaking. After few months, The Hoover DYC digital mother board was out of order. and I called the service desk, they sent a engineer to address this in a couple of weeks. The… Read more
guys said the mother board needs to be ordered then shipped to Australia from Europe which costed me another month. Finally ,we got the month board, and sundelly the engineer said they ordered a wrong model, we have to wait another months. I was driven crazy for this. To get a conclusion for this , bad quality and bad service.
I'm so glad I bought this appliance! – I can just transfer my washing straight from the washing machine into this dryer and it dries to whatever my need is so that when I come home or wake up or whatever it is all dried to perfection without steam or mess of any kind. I just love it! Show details
Worst dryer ever! – After 15 years using a Simpson 5kg dryer we upgraded to this 7kg with built in water tank in the door. When we first started using it the 'pre-set' functions did not work at all, so we manually set the time for different types of loads through trial and error. However, within a year it was taking 3-4 hours to dry a simple load of clothes while… Read more
it could take 6 hours to dry a load of towels.
Then it started smelling of burning, and we ditched it.
DO NOT buy this dryer.
Replaced with a Fisher and Paykel that just works!
Terrible – Purchased this dryer June 2016 because my old hoover 42 years old finally died, therefore replaced it with another Hoover however this dryer does not dry. Everything is damp, how on earth it is rated as economical in any way is over my head particularly as I put 5 towels in and 4 hours later still not dry!! What a waste of time and money. When I first got the dryer it was fine and seemed to dry ok but not now. Show details
Dampener not 'dryer' – Bought this machine about a year ago and hate it more every time I use it. It takes at least 3hours to dry clothes and longer for towels. Even then, they still come out feeling damp. It's getting worse with every use. Very difficult to clean around filter. Would be quicker to hang them on a clothes horse. Buying a new machine of a different brand today and cannot in good conscience resell it second hand. A wasted $700.
Great dryer – I have had this for a year, the unit is solid and works great. Also a 3 year manufacturer warranty helps. 5 stars.
I don't like this dryer – I don't like this dryer and would not recommend it. The actual 'drawer' that fills with water is easily broken and we have already had 3 replacements since we have had the dryer in a 6 month time span. I think what happens is the heat of the dryer makes the handle expand and it loosens and then when you grab the handle to empty the water, the… Read more
handle comes away from the rest of the drawer and smashes everywhere. We have held the handle gently too, it's a design fault. As I say, we have broken 3 of them due to no fault on our part. We use the dryer every day, but we are careful with it. It does dry the clothes well which is great. You can connect the hose so you don't have to use the drawer but in our house we could not do that so we have to empty the drawer which is pain.
Update:
The dryer stopped working but because it was less than a year old it was fixed under warranty, but it was a drama. The repair person was very unfriendly. Apparently there is an internal drawer that the owner is supposed to pull out and clean. The cleaning depends on how much you use the dryer. This had nothing to do with what went wrong with the dryer but we didn't know this when we bought the dryer. The repair person said you are supposed to read this in the manual. The clothes dryer very well
Good Dryer, but it has it's flaws – The capacity of this dryer is huge, I can almost fit 2 loads of washing from my matching 8KG Hoover washer into this dryer, It has the same dimensions, so I assume they are designed to match. It runs quieter than other dryers I have owned but when the water is pumped into the tank at the front throughout the cycle, the fan gets louder. The machine… Read more
overall dries the laundry well.
The four cons with this machine are:
1. The water tank on the door gets covered in condensation and you cannot see inside the drum.
2. When the door is opened, water drips all over the floor
3. The cycle settings cannot be adjusted i.e. temperature, unless you reset the machine by holding the start/pause button
4. There is no airing temperature setting, you must set it onto the 'Relax' setting which lasts only 12 minutes. Dries efficiently, condenser stops moisture in laundry room, relatively quiet Condensation on door, water drips when door opened, cycles are fiddly, buzzer sounds every few seconds until you come ad open the dryer door.

Off the list. Have enough problems with condensation even with new fan put in.
