Hoover WDYN9646P

Terrible machine – Looks nice but does a very average job washing larger loads. 8kg is not doable. Only tolerates liquid washing powder or else there is leftover residue. The dryer functuon is pathetic. It takes 4 hrs to bloody dry a 2kg load. We ended up selling this machine and buying w separate machines.
Don't do it – I unfortunately purchased one of these Hoover Washer\Dyers from Harvey Norman in January 2012. Since then I have had it replaced twice and now finally when on my third machine and 2 months since purchasing have returned it to Andi-Co the distributor within Australia. The first machine was delivered and on its first load started switching itself on and off. It than started to display and error E03 and the pump was replaced to rectify this. The following day it started doing it again. This time the service agent attended and couldn’t find any issue. Not 5 minutes after he left it started doing it again. This machine was than replaced. The replacement was installed and again the next day the service agent was called this time for the turning on and off of the machine. This time the internal connections from the power supply to the control board had become loose. This was repaired twice and then this machine was replaced. This machine also was unable to dry a load of washing and didn’t spin correctly as every time it started to speed up the connections would come loose.
The final straw was when doing a load of washing as directed within the manual found that after 2 hours the “Sensor Dryer” was still running. The washing basket sitting on top of the machine had started to melt and the cloths that where in it where burnt. This not 1 day after the service agent had replaced the thermostat after a similar issue the load before. The machine was also (like its 2 predecessors) turning on and off at random intervals and not even the timed drying programs where able to finish. The service agent at first blamed the power point for this so I had it tested by an electrician who could not find any fault. The service agent then started to blame the current coming from the point as he had noticed that it was feeding 246voltz instead of 240voltz. No other appliance within the house has had any issues with this apparent 6voltz and 2 electricians have started that 6 volts will not cause any issues. These machine where also connected with a surge protector on this power point.
The service agent was polite however was not available any time other than between 11am and 2 pm weekdays. This does not help when he has needed to attend 6 times in as many weeks to repair these machines.
As this is a premium product and very expensive I expected better quality. The service from Andi-Co has been good but in this instance the product clearly has no quality control. I have since replaced this with a LG WD14030FD6 which has been working fine and have not had any issues so far. I would recommend the LG over the Hoover any day and would advise anyone that is in the market for a machine to steer clear of these if they value their sanity and clothing.
Wish I hadn't bought it – Have had problems from the start. Purchased through Good Guys on 7 January 2012. Told only Hoover can deliver the machine. Hoover cannot deliver on Saturdays (we both work full-time). When finally did get delivered only used about 4 times on 'quick wash' programme before we tried the cotton wash/dry programme and the machine overfilled with water. Flooded out our laundry and adjacent dining room. Has been inoperable ever since (now nearly 2 months on from purchase) and told they're still waiting on parts to fix it (not replace it!). Meanwhile we have no washing machine to wash clothes! Not getting any updates from either Hoover or service agent about whats happening - we have to chase them. Now requested a full refund. Would not buy another Hoover. Don't know hardly got any use from it. Inoperable after 5th use. bad warranty service. very expensive.
