HYCS6224 goes really well....especially at that price! – It does seem fussy about fuel mix but mine goes well and starts easily. Regular cleaning of air filter is, as with most chainsaws, a routine. My only complaint is that mine was supplied assembled by the dealer and I have had to go over things and tighten a lot of nuts and bolts.......but for the price I am well pleased. Inexpensive, reliable,
6224 dud – I purchased a 6224 from Landmark. First use it had no power and used a tank of fuel after cutting small amount of wood. Took it to authorised dealer for attention but on return I find that the unit has no guts at all. I have an old Husky 61 (same sized motor} which runs rings arounf the Hyundai - very disappointed. Maybe the 24" bar is too big for the saw or perhaps the very small air cleaner does not allow it to breathe properly - either way, the saw was a waste of money and I could not recommend it even to a casual user.
No power
10 mins of use – I bought a 3612 8 months ago . I started it using the petrol oil mixture I use in my other 2 stroke saws , I used it for 10 mins all was fine i put it on the shelf. Recently I tried to use the saw , it would not start I spent 1/2 a day trying to start it . it did not kick at any time I pulled it apart and removed the exhaust I could see the piston moving past the exhaust port the piston and ring was scored badly .
I am not pleased there is no service center i am stuck with a lemon. Allgood for 10 mins, 8 months ago now its good for spares. Cant ask anybody to repair it they wont touch it.
