Sturdy and expandable. Value for money, highly recommended! – Purchased this in August of 2011, along with the expander that gives you essentially an extra two shelves. I've got the bottom 4 shelves filled with books and have never had any concerns about it bowing or bending. Putting it together: It's IKEA furniture, so putting it together is always a little interesting, but the instructions are on point and it's not very difficult, but you need two people!

It hasn't been damaged, but be aware that it is a veneer so if it's not going to last forever. Perfect for the office or a spare room though Sturdy, strong, easy to put together (two people)
