Danger, Danger Watch Out – Bought this over Christmas and took away with us just recently, looking forward to cooking on it, and when we turned it on gas fire was coming out from the knob. Quickly turned it off and tried again little later. No still fire. Taking it back, total crap. Very disappointed.

Surprisingly awesome – Awesome little BBQ for a relatively cheap price. The small propane bottles make it extreme convenient to take to the beach/park. I also ordered a gasmate GM110 hose so I can connect it to a proper cylinder ($22.48). The size is OK for entertaining a small group. Overall, very pleased with the BBQ so far.

Terrible Customer Support – I purchased the Orion Portable BBQ from Bunnings Coburg, VIC. I was told by a staff member that the bbq needs a large gas bottle, which costs $56 and there is a gas hose adapter in the box. as stated in the user manual. There was no one available in the relevant department so the operator took my name and number and assured me I'd receive a call back in the next 15 minutes.

45 minutes later, I called again only to be greeted with a message saying I'd called outside their operating hours and to call again tomorrow.

This was and still is an incredibly frustrating experience. I'm considering returning this bbq and investing my money in a product that can be supported.

Excellent, lightweight, BBQ for the price! – I have a 2 burner Zeigler and Brown on my patio at home but wanted a small lightweight BBQ with a lid to take on trips in our camper and this one is perfect! Brown, but not far off. Yes, I also had a few issues regarding the type of gas and the instruction booklet should be clearer. I have had no experience with disposable LPG canisters and, I am sure like many people, thought LPG = gas bottle and connection hose, but persistance paid off and I finally received the right advice. Would recommend the Jumbuck Orion Portable BBQ for anyone wanting portability without a large pricetag - amazing value for money

Useless – Dissapointed on purchasing this product hose not supplied 4 store later still no hose I will never purchase a jumbuck product again after calling customer service told order one in why should I bunnings should stock it they sell it so another product sold with jumbuck and bunninhs blaming each other I will go buy a weber who have all the comppnents

Features

I like the idea that the BBQ runs off a small Butane bottle which makes it very portable and thus ideal for camping. The burner provides adequate heat and cooks the meat without fuss.

The stock grill plates are a little too well ventilated so heat may dissipate a little too quick.That's not a massive issue.

I like the fact that the grill plates are divided in half so it's is easy to take out and even fits in a dishwasher.

I love the thermometer on the lid.

I also found that I could fit a small Siegler & Brown solid cast iron grill plate.

If this BBQ had more Accessories, better instructions and maybe slightly better build quality this could be and 5 Star BBQ.

Bunnings Hopeless – Purchased an Orion BBQ for my husband for Christmas purchased it from Bunnings they didn't have a gas bottle or a hose to suit?? Bunnings staff at Mandurah were hopeless told me the best thing to do was to return it? Not happy as a customer or as a Wesfarmers shareholder!!

Annoyed – No clear instructions on gas Cylinder attachment procedure. No clear labeling of BBQ parts. Even Bunnings staff were defeated by gas link up procedure. Still waiting on call back from service staff. Mighty angry!!!

Brilliant value – Bought at Bunnings, comes pre-assembled in box. Really good, cheap and lightweight bbq. Cooks better than my 4 burner with a quarter (duh) of the gas usage. - Fits a pizza stone or roast chook inside.

- Good fit and finish, all lids etc fit together well and appear decent. Not top notch but better than I expected from bargain brand.

- Goes through 0.25 kg of LPG per hr on full fire. Still cooks as fast as my 4 burner due to smaller hood and closer burner to grill.

- Nice enamel coated hood and bottom. Even though it's fairly thin steel, it should last a long time and not rust because coating is reasonably thick.

Cons:

- Doesnt come with standard regulator gas hose. Have to buy the 1lb propane gas bottles for $10 or get a fairly rare hose online to fit standard POL gas bottle. Gasmate GM110 hose or equivalent will connect to standard bottle.

-Burner control not super precise but ok. Still has good turn-down for low heat cooking so not a major deal.

- Screws may be mild steel so may rust. Can't say that this is different to other similar bbqs though.

So basically don't be put off because it's a Jumbuck, this bbq is the goods. Particularly if you want something lightweight, easy to clean and good enough for home cooking too.
