I love my Jura, BUT!! – There are 4 adults in the house and an occasional visitor. I find the filter lasts from one week to three weeks. It is always rinsing. It rinses even after cleaning the milk system. I know it is set for so many litres, but it is ridiculous how expensive this machine can get. It is frustrating. Show details

Makes amazing coffee – This an amazing machine. Makes a fantastic cup of coffee. There is a variety of types and sizes of coffee to choose from plus you can also customise your own coffee. The coffee temperature is spot on, nice and hot and this can be adjusted if you prefer coffee a little cooler. This machine is next level so you won't be disappointed. Good quality coffee beans and this machine, will give you the ultimate coffee fix. We love it! Show details ·  1

Love our Impressa Z5 – Have had this sooooo many years & it’s been very reliable. Serviced twice & although last one cost over $500 (incl shipping) it was well worth it. I’m guessing new ones will not be the quality of these older ones and to never have to find out! Show details

Great coffee and options, still demanding for a high end automatic – Coffee is great, as are the customisable options, as would be expected for the cost and kitchen bench footprint of such a machine. However, when you pay this much, little niggling problems become particularly irritating - if it were a cheaper package you would just accept minor niggles. Firstly, the cleaning cycles are almost non-stop, seems like… Read more

it needs to go through a milk system clean after almost every milk containing coffee. Each time you have to step through several clicks/screens to initiate the cleaning cycle.. including an acknowledgement that you should only use Jura supplied cleaning fluid/parts/tablets/etc. ...every time...after almost every milk coffee. Gets real old, real quick. Secondly, the drip tray assembly parts just sit loosely together by gravity. So, when you are prompted by the machine to empty or clean it for the first of the many frequent occasions, the admittedly beautiful drip tray grate slipped off the assembly. We discovered it was glass - as it shattered into thousands of pieces on the floor after owning the machine for only a day. No worries - look online for a new one, our fault after-all. $250+ to replace, plus $50+ to deliver...and that's US dollars. Clearly, if you routinely pay >$4000 for a kitchen appliance, you have so much spare cash that you don't mind paying high replacement part/manufacturer consumable prices. We don't..this was a one-off treat for Christmas. So, now we have a beautiful new coffee machine with a shattered drip tray grate. But at least we have a story to tell our visitors. The last problem isn't really Jura's fault. Harvey Norman sold the Z8 to us with the milk cooler accessory, telling us they linked wirelessly. And actually the Harvey Norman price sticker stated "Wireless". So, after a couple of hours trying to work out how the Z8n connects to the milk cooler, I discovered you need a $95 additional part to make wireless connection possible. Hmmmm. Harvey Norman were very sorry to have given us the wrong impression, but as it doesn't seem to make any difference to the manner in which it makes milk coffee, we haven't bothered. Later, I discovered on the bottom of the milk cooler box, it does state the wifi OR bluetooth accessories are optional....on the bottom of the box...... We are enjoying the machine, it is beautiful, it's fun to make coffees with and they turn out great. But am less in love than I should be after parting with >$4000 for good coffee!

A fully loaded machine that makes super coffee at the touch of a button – The quality of the coffee product is very much a function of the quality of the roasted beans you put in the machine. I keep my beans in a snap tight sealed canister and only dispense enough for 2-3 cups (I take two at breakfast - coffee this good needs more than one cup). Being Swiss you can rightly expect precision and the consistency of the… Read more

output is only varied by how fresh the milk, coffee and water are. Thats why when you buy fresh beans (from a high quality artisanal roaster, or perhaps, Genoa coffee or Roma coffee beans) then immediately store the beans in an airtight lightproof canister and ONLY dispense what you need. Beans you buy in the supermarket are not very good at all. If there is one criticism it is that the milk clean function (which is fully automatic but you should still clean out the (optional) refrigerated milk canister and clean the frothing head) oftentimes tells you to clean the system even after you have made just one cup. Best idea? Ignore it and do it daily or every couple of days depending on the amount of use it gets. Lots of bits to clean (ignore the complainant re the drip tray being long and flat) - yes it is, but seriously, its not THAT hard to get it to the sink without spilling it. I have had this machine now for around two years and it works perfectly. We have had up to 50 people for a open garden and the great thing about this machine is that once the first cup is made you can churn out a great latte for example every 45 seconds. Consistently and very high quality. Even my Melbourne living super shot strength coffee loving daughter reckons its a pretty decent machine. Enough said.

Best Coffee Machine I have purchased – I enjoy my coffee and have in the past purchased many machines predominately Delonghi (five at the last count). The machines never achieved the goal of a cafe espresso machine. I accepted it as a fact of life as I not only couldn’t afford the espresso machine but also had no space. My problem with the Delonghi machines was the breakdowns and the… Read more ·  1

expensive repair. I gave up on the service centre and my son took on the task of repairing them if possible and giving them away to another home.

After the last machine broke down (not an inexpensive model) I looked at the alternatives. I purchased a Jura Z6 and have been blown away by the ease of use and the quality of the coffee. It is equivalent to a Inner City Newtown Cafe!

I have never owned a Jura before so I can’t compare, however, the Z6 has PEP technology that maximises the extraction from the coffee beans. Why did I wait so long to buy a Jura. They prove that non commercial machines can make cafe quality drinks!

Coffees can be ordered via their phone app and any milk coffee drinks are as great as a cafe.

I have removed our electric jug as water for tea is produced faster and at the right temperature.

not worth the money and headaches – started with a J6 which was sent back as grinder packed up after a few months , got it back, ok for a while then started leaking, got fixed, started leaking again, the machine its self was fine easy to use and made good coffee, we were told by Jura that we had made to many coffees on it approx 3500, they advised we need a commercial grade machine… Read more

Not worth the money i paid for it – Purchased March 2020 on a Saturday, arrived dead never worked. Had to send to service dept to be fixed. shooting steam 90% of the time. Sent it for service again all fixed. Shoots steam 60% of the time now so it improved. My next gripe is temperature, water heat highest milk temp 8 and makes coffee in the region of 55c, even boiling the kettle and pre heating cups makes very little difference. If i make a coffee shop then a hot milk fill temp is a lot better. Sadly this has been a waste of money. Our last Jura machine still going and works great after 10 000 cups..

Machine is great, after sales service extremely bad – Purchase JURA Cool Control with Z9 which lasted about 4 years, purchased another one lasted less than 12 months. Ok, held back by a few major design issues – Purchased this machine after years of using a traditional semi-auto machine. Its Ok, if not underwhelming. A few serious issues really impact things: 1. The P.E.P process works great and really enhances shots, *but* it is completely disabled when you are making milk drinks. So if you are looking for a punchy Australian style flat white, you are… Read more

out of luck... the best you can get is a weak cup of coffee flavoured milk.

2. The milk frother is seriously temperamental. I follow the full suggested cleaning regime using the (expensive) Jura cleaning liquid, but at least 50% of the time the frother just blows bursts of steam with no milk. Jura support suggested the milk temperature was the issue, but I have it on lowest and it makes no difference.

3. The drip tray is ridiculous, a classic case of form over function. It is this long shallow thing that stretches all the way inside the machine (so it is kept out of sight), but this makes it a crazy balancing act to take the lid off it and empty. You will spill old coffee water on your benchtops every time.

On the positive side, the self cleaning really does work well and is fully automatic. No need to swap out cups of water or anything half way through (which I believe is unique to the Z line machines).

All up it actually makes pretty decent coffee for an auto machine, but considering the price I was expecting a much smoother day to day experience. And the lack of P.E.P on milk drinks is a major negative.

The milk does not froth unless we manipulate it manually while the milk is coming through. The biggest flaw I think is that there is no indication when the water is low. The machine just simply runs out and you are left with half a coffee. Highly disappointed with this machine!

Repairs – Had to send it back for repair during warranty. Now I am having to send it back a second time at a cost of $345. Two months out of warranty. Best Coffee Machine I've Used – The Jura Impressa Z5 coffee machine is a high quality unit with multiple options yet still very easy to use and durable. Brisbane is notorious for its' hard water and this normally wreaks havoc with coffee machines. Apart from having built in cleaning cycles to both clean and decalcify the machine (using Jura's products to do so - with the… Read more ·  1

assistance of prompts by the machine), you are also able to use their Claris filter system in the water tank which actually negates the need to decalcify. It also guarantees that you have pure water and fresh, great tasting coffee every time. I drink a lot of coffee (approx 10 cups day) so use a cleaning tablet once a week and the quality of coffee is noticeably improved by doing so. On this subject, I'd advise using Jura's tablets as if you check, you'll find the cheaper 'substitutes' have a totally different chemical composition.

The machine uses either beans or pre ground though I've found most pre grinds are too fine for the machine - and what's the point of having a professional standard machine if you're not using freshly ground anyway! The grinder burrs are ceramic so are very durable. You can adjust the grind to suit your taste - as well as water temp, brew strength and amount of coffee made per pre-set. All these adjustments are a button press away.

The interesting thing I found when I originally switched from stove top machine to automatic pressurized machines is that you actually use a lot less coffee as they're so much more efficient. Even taking into account a weekly cleaning tablet (around $25 for six tablets) and a monthly change (or 250 litres - it uses a bit of water as it cleans itself every time you shut it down) of Claris water filter (around $20 each), you still get cafe quality coffee at a fraction of the cost.

You can leave the machine on (it has different energy saving cycles) and even on energy save it'll heat up in 30 seconds and be ready to make coffee. It has a milk frother which I'm told is very effective - I don't drink milk so honestly can't comment - and can make from ristretto to espresso to your taste. It also has dual spouts so 2 cups at a time (of the same product obviously) can be brewed.

The chip saves useful info like how much water has been used - useful for proper maintenance - how many of each type of coffee has been made - a neat curiosity touch I think. It also has a separate hot water spout for making tea etc.

I've found this machine makes great coffee (to my tastes anyway and I haven't always been happy with cafes I've been to) as well as being easy to use and incredibly reliable.

Definitely worth the money.

I've just started using this site and as the machine is out of warranty, I no longer have proof of purchase so I guess you'll either trust me or think I'm a Jura rep (in which case you'd think I'd spruke a current model!). Obviously I'm very happy with this machine and wouldn't bother trying another type after having one. I've had other brands and honestly I'd started to think home machines were more trouble than they're worth. Obviously you just need to buy a good one!
