DO NOT BUY K5 Karcher " piece junk" – I warn everyone not to buy any Karcher, its absolutely not worth any money. I spent around $700 for this rubbish and spent another $120 for a pipe an nozzle that is supposed to clean downpipe and storm water from dirt but the pressure is as low as a normal water hose. Guess what, it was sitting for last 6 month in my garage and pulled it out to… Read more
clean some pot plant's mold. No pressure at all and I do not know what to do since its not under warranty. I am now borrowing a Black Eagle petrol cleaner that he bought it for a fraction of K5 price and it is fantastic. I do not know what to do with this junk.
Very good machine – I bought one of the early models about 10 years ago. Great machine until now. Motor not the best, pressure gone. Not bad, 10 years of service. Definitely get another Karcher! Show details
Waste of money. Not at all Durable. Service centers are overflowing with repairs – Had problems with the tank. It was leaking and not building up pressure. Fixed it under warranty once and it had the same problem again. This is the last time im buying a karcher. Bosch is better option. Show details
Same issue - leaks, pulses and poor pressure – I have also experienced the same issue with the K5.650 pulsing and leaking water everywhere. I have located the source of the issue under the pump but can't fix it and can't find a replacement part (most searches for this model come back blank). Sadly, used it a few times before this occurred and had it sitting in the shed for years because it… Read more
wasn't usable.'Decided to pull it back out and try to get it fixed before forking out another $600 but no joy - expensive piece of shelf furniture.
Above reviews are true- this product is a piece of Crap/junk - Dont buy Karcher – I bought mine as well at Costco . Used it twice and the third time I used, the inlet port leaked. I ordered the part at ereplacement.com and did a bit of diy . It worked for few minutes but noticed that pump does not stop when the wand/trigger is off. Now pump keeps on pulsating and motor does not turn off. You need to unplug the cord to stop the… Read more

I am very frustrated with this expensive crappy K5-65 archer . Just sharing so you wont buy k5-65 Karcher pressure washers.
Terrible! – Terrible product. Just as well it is off the market! Paid around $500 from bunnings for this product. Used about a dozen times only to have it in for repair due to some part with the pump failing. After coming back to us they don't even guarantee the part that was fixed! Won't be buying an expensive high pressure unit again, let alone Karcher. Show details
Disappointing Heap of Junk – Don't touch 'em. Mine leaked on the third occasion that I needed to use it. Cost $159.50 to repair it and replace the head and some other bits. I bought it because an older model that I had worked efficiently and without any problems - what a mistake with this one?? Poor quality machine and not worth the money. Show details
Don't buy a Karcher – Thought 'you get what you pay for' was a sound philosophy. Apparently not with Karcher. Went upmarket and spent nearly $700 in Bunnings for basically a useless, leaking, difficult to get parts for machine. Have owned pressure washers before and although not capable of testing claimed pressure ratings at home certainly got the 'gut' feel that… Read more
this K5.650 was not up to standard from day one. It just didn't have the pressure of my old unit rated at a lesser psi output.
Feel ripped off.
Pathetic plastic junk – Similar experience to other buyers of K 5.650. Failed within two months after moderate use around the house. Power head failed. Replaced it and again after moderate use failed again! Won't fix this time, and will not buy another Karcher product. The old agage of 'you get what you paid for' certainly does not apply to this junk. Show details
Complete Crap – Within 1 year the manifold leaked and was replaced under warranty, after 3 years same problem. This is a design problem and one which Karcher should have replaced all of these faulty machines with a new one or had a recall to replace the manifold with a stronger design. Just a name without any quality to back it up. Show details
Disappointed – Purchase from Costco 3 years ago. Discharge hose connector broke after two years. I had it replaced and it worked ok last summer but now it is leaking at bottom. Repair tech said plastic pump head is cracked. I will not bother getting it fix. Repair tech said it is a fragile design.
Very disappointed – Bought this K5.65 2000psi from Costco three years ago. Used it twice without any problems. Just decided to use it again and it started leaking a lot from below. Turns out the plastic control head is cracked! Cheap rubbish. Now that I read other reviews, I won't bother repairing it. Garbage!
Great when it works, but have had problems with the pump power head cracking - but OK since fixing i – Update: 7th December 2018 Still working OK … have had this HPW cleaner now for 5 years. Notes from July 2017 below still apply. Update: 5th July 2017 Continues to work fine since fixing it (see below). Still mindful of input water temperature (cold is good) and not using it continuously for too long to avoid heat build up in plastic pump… Read more

But does an awesome job on cleaning the pavers and literally blowing the cr@p out of our bird cages (after we take the birds out)!
Superseded model, so hopefully Karcher have improved the newer model range.

I wrote the review below some time ago and gave a 1 star rating. Increased to an 'OK' rating of 3 stars now.
I have since been able to fix my Karcher K 5.650 high pressure cleaner for just under $100 buying and installing the parts myself from a WA distributor in Osborne Park. Not a hard job but you need a security type driver (from Bunnings) to remove the screws / yellow plastic cover from the black base.
A Technician at 'Powervac' said that Karcher had changed the design of the plastic pump power head after "some issues and customer feedback". I bet.
Now it is fixed, it has continued to work very well. I will update my review if it fails again, or if it continues into next year without failing again. Thanks.

Extremely disappointed with the Karcher K 5.650 high pressure cleaner. Works well when it works, but even limiting to short periods of use (under 5 mins) and ensuring hose water feed temperature is cool, the cheap plastic pump inside fails. And fails often. Not cheap to get fixed either. Exactly like others have described. Water leaks out the bottom and the motor pulses. Epic design fail!!! Expensive to maintain and very unreliable.

Complete rubbish – Never thought I be so angry to write a review but what complete first class pile of rubbish these machines are. Sent back for repair after 6 months and minimal use to repair a split tank to do the same thing 6 months later. Mitre 10 couldn't give a rats about it either so I'm about to gather it up and toss the whole lot in the bin.
Piece of crap – Used 3 times no longer works. Upgraded from smaller unit which worked OK. Grossly disappointed. No obvious problem checked thoroughly.
Junk – 4 times fixed under warranty for split plastic cylinder head. Used 1 time after warranty out and has split again. $ 600 piece of junk. Tried to give it 0, but site wouldn't let me. This is a terrible product
waste of money and time – After 3 years my Karcher K5.650 the pump broke, sent for repairs, within 1 year the pump was broken again, very disappointing with Karcher not been able to refund or exchange product after x2 times at their work shop, never again Karcher, Can any one recommend a good pressure cleaner that wont brake down after 3 years
Plastic pump parts fail regularly – This machine has proved to be very unreliable for me, and unfortunately I have lost the receipt for warranty. The key problem with this washer is that the pump has a cylinder head and control head that is made of plastic. The plastic just does not hold up to the water pressure and eventually cracks or splits. This is an $80 part if you are handy… Read more
enough to do the repair yourself - you will be up for significantly more to have it professionally repaired if you are out of warranty.
When the motor starts pulsing and the washer loses pressure, this is the classic symptom of a split control head or cylinder head. Once you are out of warranty this will make the machine a very expensive proposition to keep in service, as it will fail often based on my experience and other reviews.
You'll also find the casing to be very flimsy and of very low quality. If I managed to get any significant use out of this machine I am sure the hose reel handle would have broken before long. The wheels are also next to useless - very low quality and they jam so that you end up dragging the machine around rather than wheeling it.
You will also find that it uses a detergent cartridge system, but I cannot find any retailer that stocks these disposable cartridges. What you can do though is buy a very small funnel and use this to refill the cartridge supplied with the machine. Doing this though will ruin the seal and you will find that you spill a bit of detergent replacing the cartridge in the machine (unless you are able to turn the machine upside down while you refit the cartridge - easier to live with just spilling a bit).
Total Junk – I thought buying a quality German brand would be the right thing to. I was wrong This is the list so far 1) While under warranty the handle fell apart. 2) Also under warranty it started leaking at the bottom 3) the wheel stopped turning so you have to drag it along 3) not under warranty and its leaking out the bottom again my friends… Read more
cheap Chinese pressure washer is still going find.
Total junk
Don't buy it

[link removed] Pressure was good Keeps breaking - total junk
Expensive junk – How can a company be allowed to put this out in the marketplace? Used it 4 times and now no pressure and leaking water at the bottom...... beware of this product. Of course my 1 year warranty is expired, but, I would not want this repaired only to have it break again. Great when it works Life expectency cost me $40 every time I used it
Karcher hoodwinked me with the pretty colours – I have had a lot of problems with pressure washers. I started out with a gurni 110 cheapie which died (pulsing) Replaced under warranty, started pulsing outside warranty and sold it very cheap. Bought another larger gurni 125 which similarly started the dreaded pulsing and i demanded a refund, then 'upgraded' to "the best machine out there" … Read more
Well ive had "the best machine out there" for 6 months and its really only done 5 hours gentle car washing and cleaned 1 side of my house when the pressure dropped to that of a significantly smaller sized pressure washer.
SO
Under warranty i take it to be repaired, the power head is replaced (allegedly had a small split in it). Get it home and its exactly the same pressure as earlier. I return the unit to be pressure tested and repaired under warranty again.
Unit 'repaired' and same thing.
Thinking ive lost my mind in relation to the pressure issue i compared "the best machine out there" to my friends significantly smaller Karcher using the same power blaster on each unit and the results were obvious...I have not lost my mind.
Ive invested 6 hours travel + lost 8 hours work time (because the office only operates between 8.30am - 4.00pm Mon-Fri. ive lost more money taking the unit for repair than i paid for it, though i stupidly refuse to tolerate blatant junk tools.
I contacted Karcher and they have now collected the unit for further inspection which is great and if it is fixed that would be great but as it has 4.5 years warranty i will be selling it upon receiving it back as i don't have the patience or time to 'deal' with sub par machines of any type. When it worked it was a great machine. Looks pretty. Like the detergent attachment though very small capacity. Karchers head office attempt to rectify the issue Cheap hose tangles itself easily, Vario wand is useless, on board detergent dispenser is useless, unbalanced. No hose swivel on base of gun so hose tangles easily.
Very Very Disapointed – I paid $650 for what I thought was a high quality machine, touted as bordering on professional. Within the first year it leaked water everywhere and had to be fixed under warranty. Within two years it packed up again with a $200 repair bill not covered under the supposed 5yr warranty. Very expensive pre use. Not impressed at all and this experience has turned me right off Karcher Didnt use it enough to ratye it well Over priced, under quality.

Total garbage – Always wanted a pressure cleaner and when I put the money together to spend about $700.00 , I fell for the karcher with their non corrosive pump and German heritage, unfortunatlet I have used it three times in underer 2 years , lent it to mybrother and I get it back and it's stuffed, leaking water no pressure, pulsing on/off running, ring my… Read more
brother rip shreds through him only to find reviews that they are rubbish , cost me $200 per use , now looking at buying a gerni, karcher should have recall on this product as there must be heaps of disatisfied owners. when it ran it worked awsome italins were involved, germans should have known better.
Dodgy contraption – Here's my story. Firstly, I failed to read these informative and seemingly accurate reviews. A big mistake, So ignorant bliss lead me off to Bunnings to purchase a Karcher K5.650 which was assembled with the greatest of ease. I couldn't have been more impressed with my assembly skills. A fine looking machine all set to go! Four months later… Read more
with approximately 3 hours clocked up, water leaks from the "inner workings" accompanied by a pulsing pump and low spray pressure. Haven't I read this same story elsewhere? Do these machines have a common design fault? Has Karcher lost the plot? Is there a Japanese alternate available in the market? Enough said.
The End. If it works long enough, I'm sure I'll discover something positive. Until then however...... Quality or rather lack of it.
Poor – Wish I'd read these reviews before I bought mine. Used it 3 times and it now leaks water from somewhere internally and the motor pulses with a loss of pressure. Still under warranty so I will see how I go with Karcher although I'm not too optimistic after reading some the reviews here. Worked well for the first couple of uses but expect more than… Read more
3 uses out of it for $600 I don't know. Leaks water, motor pulses when not in use and now has low pressure
Rubbish – I bought my Karcher at Bunnings it broke down really quickly so back to the repairer it went. Would not have 5 hours on it since getting it back and looks like the same problem again. Its a piece of junk thats not built to handle the job. Im that annoyed about it i feel like burning it in Bunnings carpark..Everybody involved with these machines should be ashamed of themselves.... pump failure
Piece of german designed junk – Even the Chinese would be embarrassed to make this type of plastic casing and knobs. I paid $700 in hope I would get a well designed and made high pressure cleaning system that would I would use a power cleaner for my house and car after wasting my money on a wimpy 1400 PSI Karcher. I opened the box and had to assemble the unit myself for… Read more
starters. No problem I thought, done many Ikea projects and opened the instructions and started expecting to finish it 5-10 minutes and get started with my new toy. What a frustrating experience! The instructions must have been written by a lazy italian engineer who omitted about 20% of the crucial steps needed in assembling the unit. Karcher have assumed that everyone has a basic engineering degree ( like in Germany!) and can figure out where to place 4-5 parts in mysterious places. It took me 1 hour of trial and error to get it right.
The quality is poor and even the wheels fall off when you wheel it around on a level service!. The wheels felt like they cam from a $20 little kids toy cart from Target, even they have better quality! This is embarrassing to karcher to ask $699 for a unit that is made like it feels like a $99 market special. The knobs on the unit must have cost a total of $1.00 from china and look and feel super cheap.
How does it function as a 2000 PSI Cleaner? Good. The 10m hose is an advantage when cleaning around the house and car, the accessories are functional and pass.
Too much co-ordinating marketing by Karcher attempt to convince you that this is german engineering at its best. They have to re-design the unit and spend more on their external parts supplier to give the impression of quality, otherwise you'd be better off skipping the illusion of the marketing hype generated by the yellow and black colours and logos and buy a less-known chinese import for half the price as it does the same thing...it sprays of dirt and grime. Save your money... Good array of accessories, nice colours in design cheap controls, very poor build quality, high price

Dissapointed – Purchased from Bunnings It falls over easily. does not wheel in a direct line and is hard to move. Detergent bottled does not work well sometimes not at all. this is not refillable so is not cost effective. Attachments are hard to change.Hose is hard to pull out and wind back It does clean well . Cleans well Too hard to manage, use and tips over.
Junk – I had uses it about 8 times and has been back for warranty twice with same problem being a cracked/split head. The second time was after about half an hour use. Extremely disappointing, especially for the purchase price. A lot of the housing seems flimsy and the whole washer falls over easily. Decent pressure and hose coil Cheap components, poor quality and atrocious reliability
Karcher 5.650 – Very poor product, we buy it from Bunnings in Melbourne for $ 606.00 the pump is broken down already 3 times and has been changed with a new unit, and the third unit just broke again. start leaking water under the machine and pump never stops running with loose of pressure. Do not buy, useless machine can not even wash your car on Saturday… Read more
morning. Nothing good about it Everything basically you can not use it no even for wash your car on Saturday
Plastic pump continually breaks – I use it to clean my dirtbike. I havnt even had it for 6 months and it's been back for warranty 5 times with the same problem. They replaced the machine once. And it's now happened again. I'm chasing a refund now. Look for a machine with a metal pump. Karcher's smaller machines work well. Being low pressure. The more powerfull machines can't… Read more
handle the extra pressure. They need a metal cylinder head a hair line fracture is all it takes. Pressure good Plastic pump fails constantly.
Very disappointing. Paid too much for an inferior product – Centre of gravity is poor. Unit continually falls over with slight movement and definitely cannot be used on a uneven or inclined surface. Plastic click on parts fall off including the plastic wheels. I have used this only 5 times since new and now keep it horizontal to prevent it falling over and breaking more click on parts.
