Kellogg's Special K

Once again, Kellogs have ruined a good thing. Special k has gone from crispy in texture and dark brown in colour with a sharp protein hit to light brown looking and tasting like cardboard. Kelloggs need to learn not to ruin a good thing. Why dont they create a new tasteless product instead of ruining the existing ones. This is the first time I… Read more
have bought Kelloggs in 2 years. Never again. I dont need their disgusting cereal in my mouth they have ruined then all-cocoa Pops, nutra grain and all the rest
Having bought a box of Kellogg's Special K at a reasonable price, I was disappointed to find that when I opened the box, it was half-full. I am so tired of supermarkets in Australia ripping people off! Show details

Yuk crumbs – What has happened to special k, it used to be a lovely cream colour, now brown and all crumbs!! Disappointed not worth it anymore, it's awful for £4a box Show details
Strange objects in my food – Was eating special K and almost broke my tooth on what seems like shells on a me type of nut or Kerbal. I understand if there was a small piece but there was multiple pieces like this one that I later found. So disappointed as this is one of my favourite brands, but I will have to avoid this in the future. Show details

Crunchy and tasty and healthy – I just love this cereal and can't believe it is healthy yet so tasty and crunchy. I sometimes use it as a cereal base and then add muesli or other cereals. It is low in fat and sugar yet high in fibre. It's crunchy but I love it when you leave it in milk for a while and then it goes sort of chewy and delicious. It's a bit pricey but if you buy it… Read more
on special it's very good value. It also goes well with yogurt or a crunchy topping for ice cream. it's nice to know that something so tasty is actually not bad for you intact quite the opposite. I think it is better than all the other Special K cereal varieties which all seem to have extra sugar added and are too sweet.
Crunchy and delicious – Crunchy and delicious especially the cranberry and almonds Special K. It is best with cold milk but I sometimes add a little bit of sweetened condensed milk to give it that creamy sweetness. I love its texture and great for breakfasts. Just don't dip it to long in milk as it becomes soggy after a while.
Gluten free Special K is very tasty – I am trying the new gluten free Special K today. Yum!! Great, authentic flavour and texture. Definitely one of the better gluten free cereals, and it has the Special K taste I have missed for the past few years.

Want more Blueberry's – Update 2/8/26 Not sure why Kellogg changed the blueberries. Now instead of yummy & slightly chewy, they’re crispy & not as flavorful. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL BLUEBERRIES, PLEASE! Especially the Blueberry Special K. Talk about healthy, vitamin rich, amazing flavor, and the yummy frosted flakes stay crunchy to the bottom of the bowl. Special K should offer this same cereal with "EXTRA Blueberry's". We need MORE, can't get enough.
Overpriced Cardboard – I normally hated cereals but decided to try Berry Special K and loved it. Recently bought a box and it tastes like cardboard. I wrote to them but they're not that interested. This stuff is expensive and not healthy at all. Will never buy another box Show details
STALE – Recently bought a packet of SPecial K as suggested by my GP for health reasons, & have always liked this product over the years, BUT this packet was so STALE & had NO taste at all, like what I remember....It was likeeating a piece of cardboard & tasted the same!!! Sadly I threw the box away before I started eating this, so couldn't check the Use By Date....Absolute rubbish & won't be buying it again.....!!! Show details

Lower sugar – So disappointed Kelloggs why have you stopped producing the Special K oat clusters Lower Sugar? I recently bought Special K Berries and returned to Woolworths as each spoonful tasted like a full spoon of sugar. Disgusting when some of us are trying to eat a healthier diet. Show details
Not happy, nothing but crumbs !! – I've been eating Special K cereal for 30 years, I get the family size of the original type, and have noticed that I'm getting almost half a box of nothing but crumbs, this has been going on since Covid started and don't know why, I am a longtime supporter but totally disappointed. At the cost to purchase I shouldn't have to dig through every box… Read more
to get enough flakes to have a simple bowl of cereal. I've complained to the grocery stores I use but to no avail. Very disappointed !!!!! Are they letting the crumbs fall through the filter screens now just to get the weight up and to save money. Kellogs, you're not taking care of your loyal customers, recipe for downfall and lost income, bad move, not very smart and damaging to your reputation.
Crumbs! – I buy Special K all the time and have noticed that the 860g "Value pack - available only at Woolworths" has a lot of crumbs in it. This week was the final straw. The box I just opened is at least 50% crumbs. What is going on? Do Kellogs pack the dregs from the production line into these "value" packs? Show details

Forest berries - More like forest bare – Barcode: 9310055536685 Best Before: 15/12/2022 18:31 I have tried 4 times now to submit this complaint. Twice through your product concern and twice through the general enquiries line. I feel like you do not actually care for feedback or concerns at all. I purchased this pack through Woolworths Oran Park, NSW. I've had 2 bowls from this cereal… Read more
and by my second bowl I had to physically dig through the box to get fruit out. There is now no fruit left in the package at all. This is an "every now and then" treat for myself, as your cereal is very expensive and I have a very tight budget, so you can imagine my disappointment. $6.50 for a 380g pack of flakes. Utter rip off really.
Also what the hell happened to the pack with the pomegranate in it? That was amazing but it's gone now, why?
March 3, 2021 – I was very disappointed today in purchasing a box of Special K. I could barely get through a bowl due to the tiny glass like particles and the flakes so bland! So disappointed, will be throwing out this box and never purchase again unless they change it. Show details
Disappointed – I have been having Special K for breakfast every morning for years. Lately, however, the contents of the box are not so much flakes as crumbs. Not sure if it's the quality control or a change in processing. Occasionally I get a box (and I only buy the small size as I like to try and keep it fresh) where I don't have to throw out about 100g. Very disappointed for a very loyal customer.
Blander than cardboard – Special K was Special, it was delicious. Now... well it tasted like cardboard. Bring back the original recipe, why the .... change something after more than 30 years? Show details
Ridiculously hard – I regularly eat special k and I recently bought a new packet tried it and could t believe how hard and tasteless it was I had to check the packet to see if I had the right brand What have you done to this product? pasta. There is no excuse for this poor quality I would like to know how many others had this same bad experience and cracked their teeth eating it
Won’t be buying this product again.
Rather have oatmeal – I don’t understand all the hype with this cereal and why anyone would eat this to lose weight. Hardly any nutritional content and is sugary. Sure it has fibre, but that doesn’t justify its health benefits. Bland, not much nutritional value and leaves nothing to the imagination. Overly dry, processed and low in protein. How can anyone feel… Read more
empowered and manly with low protein? Just like Clive Palmer and Fraser Annning shouldn’t be considered an Australian icon, this cereal shouldn’t be considered a model Australian breakfast.
Your better of sticking to oatmeal’s and almonds with coconut coconut and goji berries.
What did Kellogg’s do to your Special K? – I’m from US in Australia for 2 weeks. Wanted some simple comfort food in my hotel room. Picked up Special K “original”. Wow. So very bad. US version is lighter and crisper with better mouth feel and taste. Cloying after taste and cardboardy mouth feel. I believe US version is rice and wheat only—no oats. Mostly rice with wheat gluten… Read more
added, less sugar, more salt. This stuff is like Wheaties mixed into Special K that was left in back of pantry for 10 years. Kellogg’s nailed the taste of depression.
Gave Kellogg's a chance, but didn't live up to expectations – Sorry Kelloggs, I gave you a chance, but you didn't live up to expectations. After previously writing on these pages about the sad demise of my favourite cereal, 'sanitarium light n tasty', I went on an extensive taste search. I eventually settled on Kellogg's Special K Nourish, Cashew & Macadamia & Coconut. As I failed to find a suitably… Read more
comparable cereal to my previous love, this one passed the test with a low sugar count of 13.8g and seemed to be the one I kept going back to (for lack of any other better options). A few months in and something drastic happened. Where did the nuts and seeds go? Despite the ingredient list including cashews, macadamias, pepitas, linseeds, coconut, I was suddenly opening boxes which seemed to contain only flakes and bran sticks, with one or two pepitas at the bottom of the packet. I have resorted to adding my own nuts and seeds. Thinking I will now try Uncle Toby's.
Mushy!!!! – Long time Special K customer. Re-thinking that status. The flakes are now thinner and turn to "mush" after milk has been added. no longer crunchy and thick. VERY disappointed

kellogg's Nourish with Apples, Raspberries & Almonds – I bought the NEW! "Special K nourish" and really question the necessity to have flakes that turn into rubber within 4 minutes of applying milk. All of the items in the list were chopped up so finely, it made it impossible to distinguish one item from the next and just turned into slop in my mouth. I wonder if the ingredients are just leftovers… Read more
from some other process and tossed in as an afterthought. Flakes were not flaky but had an unappealing texture before I was even half way through my bowl. Not very nice.
amazing taste! – Have tried to like special K over the span of 27 years, always try different ones when they come out. I am finally in LOVE with Special K, the Nurish with coconut, cranberry and almonds is a winner for me, hope this combination will be around at 27 years. Thank you!
Special K Advantage - Why So Much Sugar? – I was so disappointed with this product as it is just too sweet. TinToy's comment was spot on. I feel mislead by the packaging and the "Health Star Rating" of 4.5 - how is it possible that something that is almost 20% SUGAR gets a 4.5 star health rating?? To put it in to perspective, imagine that you are eating bran and every 5th mouthful you… Read more
replace with a spoon of pure sugar - THAT is how much sugar you would be eating by consuming this product!
Will be avoiding this one from now on!
The best tasting cereals! – Always included in my breakfast and aftie snacks !I eating it either with milk, chocolate drink or none at all, munching it just like a snack :) so crispy and makes me full ..
Special K Advantage: so much sugar! – Having bought the original Special K over a long period of time, I recently chose a variant called Kellogg's Special K Advantage, partly because the supermarket had it on special, but mainly because of the healthy-sounding assurances on the front of the packet: "3 grain recipe ...99% fat free ...one of the highest protein cereals ..." tasted awful. A very synthetic sweet flavour.
I turned to the ultra fine print to find out what is in it. Only 52% is cereal, plus 12% wholegrain. Alarmingly, the second ingredient by volume is sugar. But what sort of sugar, and how much? The manufacturer declines to say. My reasonable guess after eliminating the stated percentages is a full 30% of the contents is sugar. And yet elsewhere on the packet Kellogg's assures me that it is only "lightly sweetened." What dishonesty.
This product has so much sugar it should be taken off supermarket shelves. It is bad for human health.
Excellent – Great product I love the taste of special k and I really enjoy eating it. It keeps you full and leaves you feeling satisfied after you eat it so you are not likely to pick all morning and it will keep you full till lunch time. need to be eating everyday in the cereal. Great taste and packaging and I know that this cereal is aimed at women my husband regularly enjoys a bowl too. Great taste, helps maintain weight loss and also helps to aid weightloss. None i really like this product and would recomend to anyone.
Great tasting cereal – I love Special K any time of the day. I like the crisp flakes that aren't too thin, so they don't go mushy straght away like some other cereals. They are very tasty and I have never thought of adding anything to it other than some low fat milk. Price is reasonable, often get it on a good special. Taste
Excellent – for breakfast kellogs special k is a nice filler with all the essential nutrients... it deserves the price but it should be well consumed by many people if its price is somewhat less than present i like the contents of the special k as well as taste. no major complaints
Excellent – A tasty, crisp flake that does not make you you a heavy feeling and seems to keep you going right up until lunch. This cereal does not need any suger on top as the flavour is perfect. I would recommend this cereal to others as it has a healty side especially for people with diabetes, this cereal is on their recommendation list. A healthy good… Read more
tasting breakfast cereal and the cost is not too bad as well. It deserves a good rating. Special K is now my preferred breakfast as it is a very tasty and substanial morning filler. Nothing to complain about.
Excellent – This is probably one of my favourite breakfast cereals. Although it is pretty plain it does have a great taste to it. Haven't read the nutrition label like the other reviewer but i will do so next time. I like having this with soy milk and bananas. It really does fill you up and keeps you full until lunchtime. Excellent – I had a bowl of these this morning and I guarantee I'll be having another tommorow morning!
