the output wire in the controller had overheated and burnt the circuit board. Not happy as it was turned off!! Lucky we were home.

Absolute rubbish – Purchased the blanket today and will be returning it tomorrow. Doesn’t even get remotely warm. Don’t waste your time with this dodgy product. I hope to get a full refund  Show details

Terrible caught fire and and rest of bedroom – Had blanket for about two and a half years. After 12 months one side stopped working and then caught fire after two and a half years - burnt the bed carpet caught fire, bedroom table and we were lucky not to lose the entire house. One side stays high – My Kingdom fitted electric blanket is okay on one side but on the other side the heat stays at the highest setting no matter what setting you choose. I will throw it out because I suspect a fault.  Show details

Faulty Kingdom electric blanket – I purchased a super king size kingdom electric blanket online and unfortunately it seems like a common problem had occurred as mentioned previously. Cry – The store was most helpful, but frankly I will not be buying this product again. I ended up buying a better known product and have had no issues. When it was working, it was lovely and comfortable and the heat control was easy to use. Then it stopped working and was cold and nasty and I was most upset. Mostly Cosy – It is an excellent product really but the few instructions didn't really explain a lot so I had to figure it out and still haven't got it working to its optimum. it's only ever luke warm-presumably because I'm not in it so it can't guage my body heat. Once I'm in it does warm up very quickly. On -6 nights though I would like to turn it up but it won't allow for that. Overall though I'm cosy and warm. The power button is a bit of a mystery as well. One click or two, it seems to change.

DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK ON RIGHT SIDE – What a shoddy product. The righthand side doesn't work more than it does. When it's cold I go without comfort while my husband sleeps warmly on the left side of the bed. I got mine as a present so I can't return it, but if you find a Kingdom electric blanket, DON'T BUY IT.

Terrible product – Left side of the blanket is showing the P. Blanket doesn't work any more. We bought it at Harris Scarf about one year ago. Good thing I have cuddly partner and cats.

Disappointed – Have had the kingdom fitted queen about 3 years then suddenly a flashing P on one side. Also purchased from Harris scarfe. Sounds like a dodgy batch

Not impressed – After less than a month I also experienced 'static-style-zapping' when kissing children goodnight. I didn't keep the receipt so I couldn't do anything about returning the times. I have also purchased a QB size one though it has decided to flash 'P' after a year. Sad to know that these items are not good quality after purchasing the at Harris Scarfe, expecting at least a 3-5yr lifespan.

No Customer Service/Stay Clear of this product – Flashing (E) on controller, Kingtex says item faulty, wont replace, no communication, had the item, four years, with a 5 year warranty, call 0297213931, speak to their General Manager + Reidun Mallia, GOOD LUCK, I personally am disgusted, that their products should not be on the market. Had no receipt, so they simply said go away.Do not buy their products, unless you want greif.

Electric current/ static – I bought 3 of these blankets king size, double and a king single from eBay shop. Each blanket fits well on each bed. Each have electronic controllers to regulate heat on each side of the bed ( except the king single of course!) they all have a 10 heat and 10 hour setting. However, on kissing my daughter goodnight once she was in the bed, blanket turned off but still plugged in, I felt a static electricity buzz from her! Tested each of the other blankets and had the same result! Contacted seller who claims they have never had anyone else mention this. Was going to cost small fortune to return, so still using them but unplug at socket when in bed! Heat ok but often find that when set on high for a certain period ie 4 hours, it reduces heat to 3 after only one hour...which is useless on a winters night!

Useless – This model has a single character red LED display in the control port and has one port for either side of the blanket. After just 1 year one control port failed. Also as in some other reviews, I experienced a mild electric current transmitting through the body when the product is turned on at the wall socket but turned off at the control port. Disgusted – I bought the Kingdom electric blanket for my elderly parents and it's stopped working after less than 12 months, with the same complaint as everyone else. ..a flashing"P" displayed. We purchased the product at Harris Scarf. I'm surprised that the product is still available for sale after reading all the complaints. If I'd read all the earlier reviews bagging this product I wouldn't have wasted my money on this bad product. Ripped off.

A Dud – I have exactly the same problem. Harris Scarfe are not interested in helping. They were similarly unhelpful when I complained about Elysian sheets from their shop, which shrank so much that they were almost useless on the queen-sized bed they were supposed to fit. I too suggest buying these products in a different shop.

Terrible Product - Do not waste your money – The worst product ever. After using for a few months the left side came up with "P" and doesn't work. Looking at all the other complaints of the same problem I would recommend looking at another more reliable product. Also purchase from a company that supports its products (not Harris Scarfe). I estimate I would have got maybe 2 months usage from this blanket in total. Wish I'd seen these reviews before getting it!! Nothing! Short life, does not hear on left side - seems like a common fault in this product

One star is generous – blanket stopped working one side in less than 4 months. I purchased 4 blankets at same time and we experience the same static electricity on all 4 blankets as as reported by others on this site. It cost so much to return and the retailer, Harris scarfe, will not take it back on our behalf. Cost too much to return under warranty

sensation when touching - I also had it when holding my laptop - its totally freaked me out and I will be taking it off and discarding it this weekend! When it works it works. One side stopped working alltogether. Felling of electricty passing through human contact.

Waste of Money – Only bought this three months ago. Almost immediately, noticed on one of the controls, when pressed to go on the H indicator goes off quickly and the red heating indicator numbered 1-5, will only go to L or 1. After reading other reviews I will stop using this blanket as I cannot trust that it is safe. Maybe I will just go back to good old hot water bottles. Not even going to bother sending it back as it will probably cost too much in postage as I bought it on ebay. Thought the safety cut out and 12 hour automatic timer would be beneficial. Did not last. Cuts out all the time and won't heat the bed.

partner had said to me we are lucky that we are still alive as we could of had a fire and i could of died because of it.

For some reason my side didn't work but my partners side did work, I am shocked to find this out today 25th Feb 2012 and i will be taking it up further.

I sleep with no electric blanket now would like to get one but my concerns are quite strong about what has just happened to this one, I am going to hold on to it just in case the company wants to see it as proof.

Be care in choosing an electric blanket, it says on the tag, safeguard protection electric blanket from overheating, how it can say that when mine actually did and leave a smoke hole through it.

On reflection I can't really blame Kingdom, the problem lays with the store I purchased it from and their terrible after sales service.

Had I purchased this from a store close to home where I didn't have to pay postage, I may not have had the same problems. Heated quickly, fitted my mattress well. Terrible after sales service from seller.

Rubbish – Have only used the Queen size electric blanket three times and the left hand side comes up with an error sign.The shop owner has said that this has been the 4th blanket returned.They said that they would send it to be repaired.After reading other reviews I will be requesting my money back and purchasing a quality,known brand product from a reputable retailer. It worked the first 3 times It stopped working on one side only after the 3rd time.

It's hard to describe. I was concerned and puzzled. After it happened a few times, it occurred to me it could be the electricity in my Kingdom fitted electric blanket. My kids and I did a few tests and realised it was happening whenever I was in or on the bed and they were standing on the floor (ie "grounded"). It also happened when the blanket was turned off but still plugged into the powerpoint. When I realised I had been sleeping with electicity going through me, I was horrified! I am so cross that these dodgy products are available in Australia. I have just located my Receipt and intend to return it to Harris Scarfe this weekend.
