LG FB165DAB DVD Micro Hi-Fi System – I bought this unit about 4 years ago. I dont generally buy LG. However this was the best around, and I wanted a DAB quality sound radio and I dont want to listen to Sport. It occasionally jumped from a DAB station to FM with no reason. DAB failed after 3.5 years, NO SERVICE, it wont tune to FM, horrific noise. Display still works. The only thing it will do will play CD's. LG not interested and say I have to pay $80 to get it inspected, they cannot say if they still have spare parts or if it is repairable. You see a few of these for $90 at Cash Converters, that may be the go as they give a 3 months warranty! FIRST AND LAST LG I WILL EVER BUY, I started writing this review a year ago. Got a quote today to get if fixed, tech says its the tuner board, will cost $210. Looking at SONY.
Update: 8 Sep 2022 I took the unit to a radio repairer, he had it for 2.5 years. He has advised me it is not repairable, as no parts available. A friend who put in air con many years ago went LG, and it did not last, apparently in the business LG is known for Low Grade. I still like the look of the unit, but the components must be absolute junk. Many years ago in South Australia, parts had to be available for 10 years when you bought an electrical product. reiterating what I said earlier, I will never waste my money on LG again.

Great micro system – Just bought this micro system from the good guys. It packs a punch with sound quality and looks modern and sleek. There are a few little annoying things with it. First is I can hear the cd turning when music is playing, this is only heard if your sitting close to the unit. Second is lack if descriptions on display unit. (does not show which song is playing on iPod). Third is that is a small lag in changing from iPod to playing DVD or cd. Other then those few little things I would still recommend it. Price not too expensive, just over $300. Great sound quality Can hear cd turning when close to unit. Limited display descriptions on unit screen.
Great look, great sound – I was a bit hesitant of buying an LG Hifi; however, when tested side by side with other similar micro systems this one won hands down in terms of sound quality and range.. Great sound, easy to use. Looks and sounds even better when set up at home. Does not read HDD via USB (tried a 500Gb portable) but most systems have same limitations. Well priced ($349). Looks great and great sound Limited characters in info display, will not read HDD via USB (tried 500Gb portable HDD)
