Best fridge I've ever used – Amazing fridge, heaps of storage and temperature control is super accurate. Freezer goes to -30 which is insane, able to keep frozen food for a long time. Has been going strong for years and has never skipped a beat.  Show details ·  1

8 Years old and going strong – Bought this one to replace the biggest piece of garbage form Fisher and Paykel. This fridge has been awesome. When we first bought it, there were issues with the ice maker but LG fixed it under warranty. It has not missed a beat since then. I now have to sell it as we are moving into an apartment. I hope the next one is as good.  Show details

Won't buy another LG fridge – Ice chute constantly blocks up. Ice dispenser has broken twice. Ice dispenser materials are badly chosen as the plastic has aged terribly The fridge light has broken (due to condensation) and apparently is an expensive fix even though it is clearly a design flaw. I think whoever designed this fridge, it was their first day on the job....  Show details

LG customer service is the worst I have ever experienced – Beware...worst customer service ever, The fridge is 1 year old and it stopped working (leaked all it Gas). Lost over $600 worth of food, It took customer service over 5 days and 3 phone calls to have a technician arrive to look at the fridge and he did not repair it because 'the repair would be to expensive' Called Customer service to ask what… Read more

they were to do next but they could not advise on what they were to do next. Allegedly they had not received a report from the technician!!! So they were unwilling to do anything. So I onto day 6 without a fridge and nothing except 'we will call you' from customer service tomorrow. You have been warned.

leaking water tank – Unit worked well until vegetables in the bottom draw started to freeze. The water dispenser stopped working. I noticed water pooling and pouring out from under the bottom draw. I removed both drawers and found the water tank had a leak via a hairline crack. I have to call customer care who unfortunately do not answer after 7pm.  Show details

Ice maker woes – I like most aspects of this fridge-freezer combo. The tempered glass shelves so you can put small or strangely shaped containers in it without falling over on the old wire-style shelves are great and the ice maker was great until it decided to go crazy. Apart from that, it is a smart shape, colour and style - only cosmetic criticism is the… Read more

industrial looking top - why not flat Mr/Ms LG? Looks good, works well (with only one major drama), reasonably well laid out interior. Ice maker. Clean it all out and it works for a day. The chute seems to clag up a bit and pushing the ice button causes the motor to try to push the whole thing out from inside - very unsettling!

Fantastic looking and very quiet – We bought this fridge six months ago and have loved it. It has an ice/water dispenser in the door and this works really well. Having the dispenser, however, does take out some room from the freezer. I still find the freezer holds enough for us but we are not in to buying bulk products and freezing them. I The fridge is deceptively large and holds… Read more

much more than my previous upside down fridge. We are a family of 5 so need a reasonable amount of room. It is extremely quiet and looks great in the kitchen. We have the stainless steel model. Super quiet, roomy, looks good

Looks good, works well but ice dispenser is dodgy – This fridge/freezer looks great and works really well. Tempered glass shelves and fridge door shelves/pockets are great. Temperature controls on freezer door panel are handy and the lighting in both fridge and freezer are excellent. Alarm beeps when door/s left open for 30 seconds. Repeats at 30 second intervals until doors are closed. Door… Read more

pockets in freezer are too small to store much more than ice bricks (for lunch boxes) or other small items.

This model is narrower than many of the side-by-side fridges we looked at. As we only had little more than the average fridge space, this model fits snugly after a slight trim of the overhaning benchtop.

We were also attracted to the tall water/ice dispenser but are extremely disappointed with the performance of the ice dispensing component. The water dispenser is excellent, but when accessing crushed ice almost as much ice scatters over drip tray and floor as goes into glass or jug. Poor design of the dispensing lever allows crushed ice to drop out behind the lever (difficult to describe, but very annoying). I've tried using a 1.5 litre jug and it still fails to catch all the crushed ice. Dispensing the cubed ice is somewhat less messy, but often it becomes blocked in the shute and has to be manually dislodged or it will melt and spill onto floor. I keep a plastic scoop in the top shelf of my freezer and open the ice bin to scoop out what I need as it's generally a quicker option.

I'm surprised, after reading the other reviews on this site, that there are no crushed ice dispenser complaints!

The water filters are quite expensive at around $85 every 6 months and only filters odour and taste anyway. Does not filter out chemicals or bacteria. Our water filter serviceman has bypassed the fridge filter and plumbed the under-sink filtered water to our fridge. Quiet, effective, stylish, excellent interior lighting, 'door still open' alarm, tall water dispenser. Messy crushed ice dispenser, cubed ice gets blocked in shute, small freezer door pockets, expensive and ineffective water filter.

Same problem here with cubed ice blocking. I get my filters on eBay (non-genuine & not so expensive)

Good – We got this to replace a dodgy Whirlpool fridge. Liked the setup of the fridge & freezer as we have bad backs & it's hard to bend down to get food in the bottom, so, to be able to place stuff in the fridge & freezer high up, it's great. Delivery guys dented the handle getting it inside (very thin metal). Didn't want the model with the fold down… Read more

'hatch' as I can just see the kids hanging from it!! Not as big as a large family would need, but we have a chest freezer to store a lot of the bigger food items. As long as it doesn't break down on us, I'm very happy. Looks good. Works well. Handy with water & ice dispenser Child lock button on dispenser does not actually lock the big, child attracting, push for ice lever (only locks the temperature buttons). Not good when the kids are fascinated by it, so you end up with ice or water everywhere. Door pockets in freezer are a joke. You might fit 1 small frozen meal box in there.

Terrible – My first encounter with my new LG fridge was a disaster. Upon delivery it was dinted on the fridge door. Ice maker did not work. Over a 3 month period of waiting for LG customer service to either exchange or refund this lemon, the door indicator alarm would only work occassionally when door was open too long. The quality of the fridge was very… Read more

poor.

Customer service at LG is a disgrace, extended warranty....Pfffff, you might as well not have any warranty.

LG customer service's response was "but your fridge is keeping your food chilled".....this is a new fridge, at retail price, not a cheap purchase from a seconds factory.

The only way I got any service/support was to lodge a complaint with Dept of Fair Trading, and close to 4 months later I got a replacement fridge, hopefully with a better performance.

Interior of fridge & freezer are very restricted, exterior is rather impressive if you get one undamaged.

Maybe I did get a one off lemon, but the lack of customer service/support made the whole experience very bad.

poor quality control, did not perform as advertised, overated, bad customer service/support.

Good – The fridge's good looks enhance the kitchen and it's very effective at doing its core job of keeping food cold. Bells and whistles such as an "open door too long" buzzer, "express freeze" feature (not sure what that is), sensor touch control panel and pleasant sounding chimes when you make a selection, all add up to make using this appliance a… Read more ·  1

pleasant experience. In hindsight, we probably should have opted for this model's bigger brother for more space, but otherwise, we're very happy. A good looking fridge. Makes ice and iced water. Fridge and Freezer temperatures can be set from the front electronic panel. Storage bins, crispers and racks are above average. Water supply hookup is easy and well documented and LG include a replaceable water filter. There are only two of us and there is not quite enough fridge or freezer space. A cover has to be removed every time you dispense ice. If you forget as I often do, you end up with a pile on your floor.
