Great fridge 12 years on – I love this fridge and recently looking to upgrade new appliances I kept my LG side by side with handy drinks hatch because I couldn’t find anything better. mine! Replacement for all parts have easily been obtained through LG for me no problems. I replaced the front drinks hatch as I damaged it and several internal shelves all fairly cheaply. Hope you hang in there for many more years fridge because I don’t want to replace you!!

Absolute rubbish – My lg fridge has rusted out quicker than a model T ford on a beach, and all lg can do is ignore me. I would rather use an esky than buy another lg product. the fridge cost me $1500 and has lasted barely 4 yrs, I've sent numerous emails proof of purchase as requested and I get nothing.  Show details

Disappointed – Door rusts to quick under ice dispenser poor design, and no spare parts available either for fridge flap door. Cheap hinging systemThe ice maker keeps jamming and switch has to be activated manually. If there has been leaks in fridge they seep under the lips of shelves to easily. rust under water dispenser – same problem as many with a water leak causing rust under water dispenser. Not a good design. not surprised it is now discontinued will have to buy a new fridge soon as it looks terrible. Constant dinging & Express Frz flashing – The express freeze option is constantly flashing on and off and the fridge is dinging along with it. LG wouldn't tell me anything, just said I wasn't allowed to try and fix it myself. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it? My experience with the service centre wasn't great, overall the fridge has lasted about 8 years, and I now might have to throw it out as they've stopped making parts for it.

Give LG a miss - Their customer service sucks! – Had this for 9 years, and now the water hose going to the dispenser is brittle and leaking. I've had 2 service men try to repair the hose only to be told that the hose cannot be replaced, you cannot get into the door with the hose and dispenser (freezer door) and that I'm stuck with an expensive water dispensing fridge that doesn't dispense water! LG cannot repair the problem, nor are they taking ownership of the problem. Not happy LG :(

Solid fridge – Can't have asked for a better fridge. Have had it for 10 years now and still going strong. The draws had broken on me last year but considering i have two boys im amazed they lasted for so long. Never got the chance to set up the water dispenser so i can't comment on it.

Expensive piece of junk – The electronic panel that runs the auto defrost needs to be replaced and have just been informed by the fridge repairer that they no longer make the part so now our fridge is totally useless. I will never buy another product from LG ever again and will advise everybody I know to do the same.

Rust on door – Have lg fridge, rust started appearing under drink dispenser almost immediately after the warranty expired, like it was on a timer. Looks terrible now.

LG = Lifelong Gripe – Like all the others we also have the same rust problems and handles/hinges/drawers breaking. We took out an extended warranty however as you can guess problems start almost immediately after warranty expires. Plan A : Call LG and check out their "Excellent customer service" Plan B : Start FREE advertising campaign for LG.... oops did mention collecting images of rusty/broken parts ??

Terrible and bad customer relations – Plastic components broke easily. Replaced several at our cost, but broke again. Complained to LG who were less than interested. Never had a fridge that so many parts broke on so quickly. Plastic components and bad customer relations

rust bucket! terrible customer support – I have a 7 year old fridge. Like everyone else who purchased this model, rust has bubbled through under the ice dispenser. LG will replace parts but expect us to pay a technician to replace their rusty product. If i break it, i fix it. You break it, you fix it! Never again! fridge runs well rust, poor assistance in replacing door.

Lg fridge with ice water dispenser product grl 147nis – Can't believe this ice water dispenser on fridge door has rusted and bubbled its product grl 147nis never heard of a indoor fridge rusting very disappointed been told its covered under implied warranty and default , but LG don't agree so not fair not buying LG products again been told from other manufacturing places that it should not rust but LG think orherwise Not much considering it rusts

Life is not so Good... with our fridge – Fridge is only 5 Years Old, Ice maker stopped working first outside warranty costing $350 to repair, now the handle on the quick access door has broken rendering the door useless. Rust is coming through on the freezer door below the ice maker. I question that this product is of merchantable quality. Keep things frozen in the freezer, keeps things cold in the fridge. Plastics used are of poor quality.

Can't ask for more – Great fridge, never missed a beat. The side is very handy for milk and doesn't let out all the cold air. Side door, reliable.

OK – We sold a 17 year old Whirlpool for this fridge 3 years ago. The old fridge did not have any plastic problems apart from one shelf support - a plug in piece of plastic and took a lot more food. the low quality of its materials and in the lack of backup from LG. Our daughter bought a similar LG fridge a year ago and from the first, using the ice dispenser resulted in the freezer door opening and closing in time with the ice dispenser rotor!

I would not buy any LG product again. Quiet, no mechanical problems.

Provides water and ice as required.

Temperature control good. Poor quality plastics - crisper drawer extensions broken off, sides cracked. cracks appearing in unstressed parts of plastics - surrounds to glass shelves.

Finger latch used to open milk hatch has split vertically into two - can only be accessed by 2 fingers so not overstressed!

Interior room not well planned - not as roomy as at first appears.

LG not interested in problems.

shelves are different sizes. It is a bit on the small side inside but has many compartments and shelves.

The twin zone system seems to work great. twin zone system, nice and quiet Poor quality plastics, not worth the price when you can buy better brands for the same price.
