Absolute piece of junk – After owning a LG TV and having nothing but problems I purchased this Dishwasher expecting LG to have a decent product and giving them another chance, However i was terribly wrong. The dishwasher had error after error. After calling product support they said turn it off and on, this did somehow correct the error. Every now and then i would get… Read more

this error for months. Then it worked flawlessly for 6 months.

Then this machine started to trip my power constantly. I had a electrician inspect the power point and he said it was fine and that the dishwasher had a bad earth. The dishwasher was out of warranty and i had a gutfull off it. I went and purchased a Dishlex at half the price and haven't had a problem since.

LG stands for LOW GRADE in my opinion

Very expensive paperweight – When it works, it's great. But the problem is that it's broken down for one reason or another for every single damn year we've had it. We will never buy LG again. You can work out how many years we've had it from our repairs: - Touch buttons unresponsive - Touch buttons unresponsive - Pump failure - Program selection button unresponsive  Show details

I love this dishwasher – I've had this "True Steam"dishwasher for over 3 years and it's wonderful. It's my favourite appliance. Cleans really well, isn't noisy and doesn't house little creepy crawlies. Only ever used "Quick & Dry" function. Dishes are always super clean. Plastics are'nt always dry but it's no big deal. Never had any problems with it .. Just love it!  Show details

I've seen some negative feedback about this washer however we can't fault it! – Dishes are always cleaned perfectly, even the caked on baking dishes every time! The machine is whisper quiet and alerts you when the cycle is finished. The steam feature is definitely a positive, love that they are perfectly dry and ready to pack away instantly. Plenty of features. Stainless model looks very sleek. Would highly recommend.

Still Does Its Job Almost 2 Years Later – Got this one off the local TG outlet brand new - almost 2 years now. Still running smoothly and no issues ever since. Initially thought it wasn't running when started the job as I couldn't hear the process inside - that's how quiet it is. Water consumption is good. I always use the 30-minute quick wash on the daily basis. Its length of run lives… Read more

up to its words so it saves me money on electricity and water. I use the true-steam function once a month to clean itself and help flush whatever there is that might be clinging unseen in it's system.

Overall, happy with its performance. I have a strong trust in LG brand - particularly on home appliances as it has never let me down yet. In fact, I still have a good relationship with my 7kg LG front load washing machine-dryer which I bought nine years ago.

One thing I dislike is that the power can be turned off even when it's set to child lock. At times, my toddler would play with the power button while the machine is on and it would cancel the washing halfway through.

Nonetheless, satisfaction with its performance and efficiency is what matters most.

NOTHING BUT TROUBLE – We bought this dishwasher 3/2013, numerous service calls in 2014, until LG finally replaced it in 8/2014. In November 2016 another service call, and now again July 2017 the sump has gone, another service call. All I can say is 'thank god' we purchased an extended warranty. Extended warranty will finish in March 2018 and it will go straight to the tip. Would not recommend this product at all! LG totally sucks!  Show details

Pile of rubbish – Don't buy la Lg dishwasher Nothing but problems. Service calls and failures even of the newly installed parts. An expensive purchase and just completely disappointing. Consumer law warranty states it must be fit for purpose and if I made a fuss they will come back and fix it again. But who has the time for that. Waiting again for the repair guys costs money. I'll buy another brand.  Show details

Do not buy this machine! – Bought this dishwasher in 2013. Being one of the most expensive on the market, I expected good results. However, since then I have made 8, yes, eight service calls to LG to fix it. The first 4 calls were to repair the faulty panel. Machine failed to turn on and the entire panel was unresponsive. After three visits to "repair" the problem the… Read more

serviceman admitted they had been an issue and would replace it with a new panel, which they did. Then I had recurring problems apparently caused by an olive pip blocking the draining pipe."Your fault" the man told me. Shouldn't there be a suitable filter to prevent this happening? Next problem was that it was causing the circuit breaker to shut off. Fixed. Now I am getting an E1 error message. Have tried various attempts to fix it as per troubleshooting tip,s but no luck. This is a horrible dishwasher - please don't waste your time and money on this machine. :-(

Completely unreliable – Like many others I have had frequent problems with the buttons, so many that they gave me a new machine. Then last week I got an AE code. The engineer took one look at it and said it was not economical to repair, an expensive machine less than three years old. I have lots of other LG products that I am happy with but this has been a complete lemon. Avoid LG dishwashers.

Worst electrical appliance purchase EVER! – This dishwasher fails approximately every year. We have owned this $1200 dishwasher for three years and yesterday it failed for the fourth time. It is always the same problem, the start switch fails. No wonder really when the sensors are held onto the switch with double sided tape. LG have worked on the problem and developed a facia where the… Read more

sensors are stuck into moulded cups, great idea, if only it worked. In closing do not waste your money on this product. Buy a quality item instead or go cheap, that way the disappointment won't be so great.

Worse purchase I have made – In the first week, the start button failed. Easy enough, a repair man came along and fixed it. Now, 2yrs and 8 months later, it comes up with an "OE" error message. We've checked the drain hoses, flushed with water, checked filter - you name it. Stupid thing still doesn't work. Moreover, the latch has now broken. I don't even want anyone to fix it anymore because I just HATE seeing this in my kitchen. I want to take it out back and shoot it.

Very expensive POS – Bought this in Nov 2012. Had been using LG for years without a problem. Only bought this as the LG dishwasher we had was going to my son and daughter. an error code OE. So we look it up. Kinked or blocked hose, check - nope. Blocked filter - check - nope. We leave it overnight and will have a better look in daylight. We get up to a flooded kitchen and the power tripped out. Get the repair man out. Not only has the pump gone but the sump as well. They have the pump in the van but the sump will need to be ordered in. If that happens after not quite 3 years and with such an expensive appliance, where is the guarantee that it wont happen again in another 2 years or the day after my warranty runs out. No Thankyou. We are going to get another dishwasher tomorrow and LG will NOT BE ON THE LIST OF OPTIONS.

Total crap – Very poor quality touch panel, buttons are an absolute failure on LG dishwashers. Would never recommend to anyone. $1200 on a dishwasher it should last at least past its warranty .....i would not recommend this product to anyone should be recalled and replaced by LG that would be good customer service

won't happen again, the first month of owning it I too had the front panel issue but the first day it arrived I realized the mistake as the cutlery tray which had been such a great feature in my other dish washer had to be removed to make room for the dinner plates! !!!

I have never been impressed with the wash quality or the time it takes to grind through a program and now here I am two days out of warranty and it has an E1 error which also seems to be common at this point in the life of this machine; talk about false economy, never being able to use the cutlery tray means I could have bought a cheaper dish washer without this feature and saved quite a bit of bad language

not a design fault we would foot the repair cost. In the mean time I fixed it myself. Removed the facia and there are small square sponges stuck to the buttons behind the facia. A couple had come off so stuck them back on, put it all back together and on/off buttons works perfectly and machine is operating again. If attempting a repair yourself make sure you unplug the unit and do not tamper if the unit is still under warranty as tinkering will automatically invalidate your warranty.

The same control button issues – This is the second time the control buttons have failed. LG doesn't seem to care. They just send a technician out. This needs to be resolved by LG as it is happening to many people. I do not recommend this dishwasher until this is resolved. LG get your act together. Apart from the control buttons failing twice the dishwasher is quite good The control buttons do not work properly.

Do not buy this dishwasher – Buttons on the front stopped working win the week. The serviceman is coming back for the third time now. small gap of about 3 millimeters. The gap is filled with small foam blocks that is glued to the buttons. There is a block for each button. When the dishwasher gets hot, the glue heats up and the foam blocks slide down and eventually fall off. Now there is a gap and the buttons don't work. The repairman simply picks up the foam and pushes it back in place using the same glue.! It heats up again and then falls off again! They don't even bother to re-gluethem! A small dab of superglue would fix it! Why should the serviceman fix it? As it's all outsourced, he loves it. He bills lg a heap to band aid things, knowing that he will have to come back over and over. Great money spinner for the service guys, but no incentive to actually fix it. If you have one of these, I suggest you just log a call each 2 weeks and have a cuppa with the serviceman. It will cost lg a lot over time and perhaps they will change the design in the future.

Don't buy this dishwasher - no stop seriously life's not good for this machine! – We previously had a whirlpool (wish we brought it to our new home), while our LG machine still works after 4 months and no problems with buttons just yet... there are a few design faults. top cutlery tray stops everything else underneath from being as wet after a cycle is finished which should be dry! And the cycles are all slowwww. And did I mention the stupid chimes it makes, designers must be dreaming of doing a car maybe!

So disappointed! – What a terrible machine. I have only had this dishwasher for 2 months and in that time the control panel has refused to work at least five times and now it simply won't work at all. Not happy Jan – I bought this "Choice Magazine recommended" dishwasher with a RRP of $1599 for $1220 at Harvey Norman in October 2012. Initially, I found it okay and would have reviewed it at about a 3 star rating. I doesn't do a great job of cleaning the cutlery in the top section (I should mention I tend to rinse everything before I put it in, even though… Read more

you're not supposed to have to) and most of the cycles take a very long time to do a very ordinary job. The touch buttons are, to be blunt, plainly stupid and an obvious weak point on a machine that is not much more than a fashion accessory in the kitchen. I started having trouble with the touch buttons relatively soon, and it has now deteriorated to the point that at 7 months old the machine simply will not turn on.

I have spent 10 minutes on hold with LG waiting to talk to a human, only to be forced to leave my number so they could call me back (novel concept, not supposed to lose my place in the queue, however, that was half an hour ago and have heard nothing. While I have been waiting I have registered (which you HAVE to do to get their email) and sent an electronic version of my displeasure, which I have copied here:

"I've been having difficulty with this dishwasher for the past few months, and now it simply will not turn on. It is less than 8 months old. It has never cleaned particularly well (my previous, much cheaper westinghouse did a far better job for over 8 years) and I have regularly had to hand wash after the cycle has completed. Most of the cycles take a very long time for the poor job that they do, especially in the top cutlery section. The touch buttons are a bad idea and would have been far better if they were proper buttons. Overall, for a $1599 dishwasher, I am greatly unimpressed. More so as I am no doubt not in a "regular service area" and you'll try and charge me to have the thing fixed (we are less than an hour from Perth). From what I have read this is a common problem with this machine, so suggest you consider bearing the cost of a repair person making an out of area trip in the hope of repairing my confidence in your brand."

Will update with results. Looks pretty Doesn't wash well, cycles times excessively long, touch buttons weak point and have failed.

Like others, the on switch has broken not once, but twice. Avoid this product at all costs – Like others who have bought this machine, (see bronsteve's below) after a couple of months the on switch stopped working. That's because instead of using an item of proven technology called a button they've used a touch-sensor. Which has broken not once but twice! Yes, after waiting a week (and chasing their pathetic service line) to get a… Read more

service agent to come out, they removed some foam from the back of the touch panel. A month goes by, we're still waiting for the replacement panel, and it on switch stops working again. A week and a half before we get the service techie out again - all the time without a dishwasher, which with two kids under 5 is just awesome.

Finally get it repaired and it's working again. Except today the button stops responding again. Yes, the new one on the new panel that's been replaced does not work!

And again, as with every other time we've interacted with their customer service, they made a commitment to call me back two times today. And the number of times they kept that promise? Zero

apart from the utterly stupid on switch its a great dishwasher. That doesn't help much though if you can't turn it on!!!! It washes dishes really well and is quiet - if you can actually turn it on! On switch keeps breaking. Staggeringly slow and unresponsive warranty service.

You can fix it yourself. A small sponge between the touch button and the actual switch / button is loose. Just open the panel and put the sponge back.

Awful! Don't waste your money – We bought the LG True Steam less than 12 weeks ago for our new house. It is not a cheap dishwasher by any means! out on a Monday when I already had a meeting planned so I told them this was not convenient. It is one day under a week later and I have had no phone call, and no contact from LG to see whether I have been contacted. A virtually brand new pricey dishwasher I have not been able to use for just under a week and awful service from LG.

On a side note, the cutlery tray at the top of the machine never 100% cleans all the cutlery even on a steam cycle. Very unhappy! It looks nice - but currently that is all it does! Expensive, Does not function, leaves marks even on a steam cycle

Customer Service Very Poor – We purchased this item in mid February it took over 4 weeks to deliver. It was finally delivered and installed on Tuesday 19 March. First trial run came up with error !E, installer said it just needs calibrating. It worked for 5 days and now does not work with the error IE, we phoned up customer service and lady was unpleasant and unhelpful. … Read more

She first repeated what the manual said then she said it was probably our water pressure was too low (even though everything else has works in the house for over 10years, including the previous LG dish washer and when installed the tap was only half turned). The lady suggested two options 1 - we contact the good guy and return the item id we are not happy or 2 - she can send a repairman out but he will probably charge us as it is most likely a water pressure issue. We phoned the Good Guys who said they can not accept the item for return with out LG's checking it.

For a machine that cost over a $1000 and lasted 5 days this is very poor service and cost us over $220 a wash. When I checked on line about the fault there is a large number of customers who have had similar faults with LG Dishwashers apparently it is an inherent design fault.

I strongly recommend not buying an LG, and if you do, hope you don't have to deal with Customer Service. The idea of a quite effective machine was a nice dream Customer Service terrible and unresponsive, LG dishwasher apparently often suffer from this fault

My biggest complaint about this dishwasher, it cost just shy of $1,200, and when you open it, you get a measly 2 tablets and no rinse aid. Just seems a little cheap. We spent $20 on a bag and I think $5 on rinse aid. Would be nice if you got a little more than 2 tablets for the money your spending. Fantastic dishwasher – Best dishwasher we've ever had. Cleans superbly and dries really well too. Huge amount of space and so much of it is adjustable to suit the items you are loading in. Then we come to the customer service. This week we discovered that the dishwasher wouldn't turn on, which was rather frustrating since we'd only had it less than three months. I rang LG and got straight through to their customer service centre. They called back with a time for the technician to come around within twenty minutes of my initial call, and the technician arrived on time and fixed the dishwasher for us. So impressed with their customer service, given most companies don't want to know you when something goes wrong with your appliances.

Very impressed overall with the dishwasher and LG as a company. Cleans well, very quiet
