Stop work all of a sudden – bought this one in 2006 or 2007 and it had been fantastic until last weekend, It had always been a bit noisy rinsing but did everything well including drying. After almost a decade of absence we are back home. Only to discover the power button no longer respond all dead over the weekend. did some research online and found out if you press the I/O and GO for a few seconds and it did turn back on for a quick moment then died off again. Perhaps it's not a fair review on this product as it has only been sitting around and hasn't done much hard work over the years. Does it mean that the main circuit board is kapput?

As a normally happy LG customer, I have to say this product this product has been a disappointment – I bought this machine in 2006 for $2100 including an ext warranty and it seemed to work well for the first 12 months or so, shortly thereafter the troubles began! This machine keeps blowing something and tripping the power in my unit, leaving me with a pile of soaked clothes to deal with ... and after years of technicians coming out to fix the problem... the problem continually occurs. I have to say that I am completely fed up and feel very let down by this model.

I do not work the machine hard, I usually do only 2-3 loads a week using the 30 min cycle... so this machine has had an easy life!!!

For those of us who have limited space the concept of this model is brilliant and I would be over the moon if it worked the way it should.

I am a great fan of LG products and have never had any problems whatsoever with any of my other LG appliances. It is a shame that this machine has been such a disappointment. Energy efficient, washer/dryer combo design, choice of cycles, quiet Relatively expensive, problems with the door mechanism, problems with power cutouts and fuse blow outs

I have just installed a new spider in my machine, complete with new bearings, all for $140. Ordered the parts from statewide appliances is SA and downloaded a manual from their website which gave clear instructions on how to disassemble the entire machine. I also had tripping problems but this turned out to be a broken wire on the heating unit at the top of the machine. Service bloke charged me $250 to reconnect it and it failed again in two weeks. I rectified it again myself, made it longer so it wouldn't break when the machine tumbled and spun, goes like a dream. We have children and would do 10 or 12 loads a week. The direct drive is a work of art!

You can find the manual for your machine here; external link  Download the spreadsheet as well as you need it to decipher the part numbers from the exploded view. Have a good look through the spreadsheet as many parts are sold as assemblies, the spider and bearings purchased separately would have cost close to $200, but as a set, already assembled they were $140! The guys at statewide appliances are very helpful, but they can't be expected to know every combination of parts.

For other machines you can start here;
