Does a great job have had it longer than 7 years – I had this machine longer than 7 years. I know I had it at a previous house and we sold that house in 2013. The machine is still working well. It does crease the clothes but I overload it. I put as much as I can fit in the washing machine and turn it on wash and dry and come back to dry clothes. It does take a long time but I put it on before I go… Read more · 1
to work. We are off grid solar so I use the timer so that it comes on when the sun comes out. I have had it repaired twice since I had it but they were minor. You have to clean out the lint catcher when you get an error code but that is easy. I would buy this machine again if it is still available when this one needs replacing.
Works well – Cleans clothes really well and as long as it's not overloaded drys perfectly, so lazy having dryer built in i love it. I use allergy care allot for pillow cases and sheets, it uses 100 degree Celsius steam on items as well as a hot wash to Remove allergens such as house mites, pollen, and cat fur. Overall great buy for the price. Show reply
Good for a short time – Whatever you do get the extended warranty. Ours is 4 years old and seems detained for the scrap heap. Main power board cannot be replaced without replacing the front panel board. 2nd problem in four years. First was fixed for a couple of hundred. I have asked around and expert opinion is that LG electronics are not good. What is more they could… Read more
not even tell me the company that did the first repair. Cycles also take forever so don't plan on doing multiple washes with drying in the same day. Would have been better off with a smaller machine and a separate dryer to get through a lot of washing.
Make sure you purchase extended warranty – Luckily for us we bought extended warranty as it's had 2 faults since the manufacturers warranty expired. First one was a leak coming from the inside base of the machine, second fault was it stopped drying. Second repair the main circuit board, all sensors and fuse got replaced, without extended warranty, the machine would have been a write off.… Read more
When it works it seems ok, although most of the settings take too long, especially when you combine a daily cotton cycle with dry.
Wouldn't buy LG again nor recommend their products. Combined washer/dryer, space saving 2 faults outside of manufacturers warranty
Still Extremely happy after 3 years – I had a notification my review helped so many people. It asked would I update my review.Saminka was my posting in 2011 for this machine. I still cannot fault my washing machine even after 3 years.I have a degenerative back problem and simly can not hang washing out,I wish I could. My washer/dryer gets used twice a day every day and has not skipped… Read more
a beat. I have learned to make sure the bottem left front filter is emptied/cleaned out once every 3 weeks.I water down my fabric softner and I put through the empty machine once a fortnight Hillmark's Scalex Heavy Duty home descaler (Industrial strength) on Cotton setting. It dislodges any film/ lint build up behind the rim especially if having to tumble dry like I do.I bought mine from Bunnings.I get a damp cloth after every wash/dry and wipe the rubber to get any dry lint before my next wash.Quick cotton is mainly used but Cotton setting is used for big time stains.
Don't use fabric softner for towels as they dry soft enough and absorb water after bathing better.Tumble dry on low setting seams to dry as fast as normal and saves electricity.I add Dynamo liquid laundry with sard for front loader directly onto the clothes before I shut the door as I was sick of the build up of detergent either powder or the liquid in the drawer. If it builds up be sure to pull out the drawer and get it off. I leave the door open after washes to let the air get in and stop any damp smell developing.
It might sound like it is high maintenance but it is merely taking care of the machine like a man would take care of his expensive sports car.there are probably later models out there since I purchased mine from new but if taken care of or as I say appreciated,it will make life easier for a long time to come. Quietness, clean clothes, steam option,no condensation in laundry with tumble dryer on and door closed. Soap drawer can get build up of product. No harm in adding soap directly onto clothes instead though.
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE- CATASTROPHIC FAILURE !!!!!! – FACT We have had this machine since March 2010. Tonight I had a load on and the whole machine started vibrating violently and the noise was deafening. Ran to the machine within 30 seconds and pulled the plug out of the wall as I couldn't turn it off quick enough. Opened the door and the whole bowl has dropped to the bottom of the machine. It… Read more
has shredded the rubber liner around the door and you can see right into the inside of the machine.
Water has poured out everywhere.
3 and a half years use-This is DISGUSTING!
LG PLEASE ADVISE HOW YOU INTEND TO RECIFY THIS
I Love This Washing Machine – It has a huge capacity (I like to be able to wash my queen bed sheets with mattress protector, pillow cases and protectors and a cotton blanket all in one load) I can fit them all easily in this machine. It's really quiet, washes really well, and when it finishes it plays a tune instead of beeping incessantly like my old machine! It's a good… Read more
idea to get your dry clothes out straight away before the creases set in. Also, a thirsty load (eg towels) can still feel quite damp when they've "finished" drying, so I usually hang them up for a bit to dry completely. Large Capacity, Time Delay so I can have a clean, dry load ready for me in the morning, Easy to Operate, Feels solidly built Top of machine gets very hot at the end of a cycle (I do cold washes!). It uses constant bursts of water (to wash and to steam dry) so I've had to disconnect it from the tank water for fear of blowing up the tank's pump. Long pants and long sleeves have accordion folds in them when I wash and dry in the machine.
Good – I would recommend this product. I have had mine for a couple of months now and I have had no issues with it. My clothes are sparkling clean after each wash. The 10 year motor warranty is a bonus. A huge capacity means that a weeks worth of towels can be washed and dried without thinking twice about it. Before I got this I was washing every day and… Read more
now I am not. It is gentle on clothes and the rapid spin dry means that clothes are realy well wrung before hanging out and thereby reduce drying time. I really wish that whitegoods would be white! I chose the white version of this product (the showroom had a red one on display) and was somewhat miffed when it arrived and it was silver with a white front! The settings can be a bit confusing to use at the start, especially programming a dry cycle. An entire cycle can take up to 4.5 hours from start to dry finish. Is quite loud, so cant be used overnight - sounds like a small jet engine!
Great Machine – I got this one too - it is a little pricy but worth the money - I bought it in the almond colour and it not only looks great in our laundry but also does a great job. My only concern with it is that we have floor boards and it is a big heavy machine and vibrats alot on higher spin speeds. I normally do not use more than the 400 rpm setting so it works well for me ----- Quite, large capacity expensive - vibration issues on floor boards Show reply
Perfect washer for big family – We bought the black LG WD12576FD as a replacement for another LG front loader as we needed a bigger washer and were also looking for a condenser dryer. What a fantastic washing machine - the clothes are sparkling clean even when washed on a short cycle! I love the fact that it uses steam not only for drying, but also for washing. I add steam when… Read more
washing linen and bath towels. There's also a very handy "Refresh" cycle, which is not washing, but just steaming a small load for 20 minutes. Very useful for items that need refreshing and can only be drycleaned (suit jackets, for instance).
My machine is very quite as it is properly positioned and adjusted. It only makes a bit of noise when it pumps up water for the initial wash. Otherwise, we can hardly hear it. My laundry is directly under our master bedroom, and I often put the washing on overnight or during the day, while my 16-month-old toddler is asleep. This machine also doesn't vibrate too much when spinning, so whatever is sitting on top of the machine stays there without travelling all around the laundry.
LG washing cycles tend to be on the longer side, but I mostly use 'quick' cycles. They don't normally take longer than 2.5 hours including drying time.
The dryer is the best I've ever used. The machine uses steam to dry clothes, and if used on an Eco cycle, it only uses 1 litre of water for the whole drying cycle. The clothes come out oh, so soft with no wrinkles at all. That, of course, if you read the manual and use the drying function properly, i.e. remove the clothes as soon as the drying is finished. If you leave your washing in the dryer after the cycle has finished, this machine goes into the 'cooling down' mode, where it come on and reshuffles the clothes every now and then. This creates wrinkles and make your washing very dry. If removed promptly, on the other hand, the clothes come out very hot (and feeling slightly wet), but they are actually dry, and you'll feel it in a few seconds, once they cool down slightly.
Because this is not a vented dryer, there's no annoying lint filter to clean. Because this is not a condenser dryer, there's no need to empty a container after drying. There is a filter, which needs to be cleaned every once in a while though, but it's as easy as simply sliding it out and emptying it into the sink.
Overall, this is an amazing washing machine and dryer - stylish, reliable, working perfectly, and is worth every cent of its price. Stylish, reliable, quiet operation, steam washing and drying, large load capacity

Narella what was the outcome, as we had the same thing happen just recently?
