excellent – I have had this washing machine for 3 years now and it is the best washing machine i have ever owned. I previously had an LG front loader basic model that did 8 years without a problem only sold it to upgrade to a bigger one. I had read bad reviews previous to buying this however decided to go with it. Most of the complaints were from people who sounded like they didn't know how to use it or never had a front loader or a steam washer/dryer. The melody that others complain about is not an issue or loud. I can barely hear it behind my lounge room wall. It does not take any longer to wash or dry than any other machine out there. The steam dryer works a treat. It can iron creases out of clothes.. It has never played up, never leaked, never had any faults. I would recommend it to anyone except LG no longer produce it which is a real shame. everything nothing

Finally just upgraded. This machine was a trooper. Only one of the cycles stopped working and finally one of the springs snapped on the drum which is why it was time to part ways. 14 yrs for a machine is great.

can't wait for an excuse to replace it – I have never been happy with this machine. I was sucked into the idea of the front loader and now I just long for a top loader. Feel I need to wait out 10 years...and it's only been five...It's supposed to save water, which is fine, but the cycles go on forever, so it's not energy efficient. It sings at the end of every cycle - loudly. Numerous calls to LG and there is no way to switch it off. Not great when you have to plan your loads around a sleeping new born (I've had three since the purchase). I've come to hate that little tune. Also, unlike the top loader, if you forget an item you have to turn the machine off and wait what is easily 10 minutes for the door to unlock to open it. I just don't bother anymore. A top loader was so simple! Also, because of it's water saving virtues, it is so tight on water that anything that has the slightest potential to colour other items in the wash, does. Need I say more?

I have this front loader and It cleans my clothes nicely and not a problem but you're complaining about the melody that only last for 10 seconds? and its not even that loud the way you describe it to be. If you hate the melody so much why don't you just close the laundry door, I have 10 foot ceilings and I just barley hear it from the kitchen . And no you don't have to turn it off to put in forgotten items in, all you have to do is pause it than it unlocks and than it will resume when you press the pause/resume button. But yet you slam LG with a bad review all because you hate the melody and its not LG's fault that you don't know how to use it properly.

Yes, I agree. Some people just cant help themselves and complain about everything. Personally I think the melody is great because I like to hang my clothes as soon as the machine has finished. It sometimes annoys me when I can't hear it because I have other music up too loud. It's the best washer we have had, and I strongly prefer front loaders, they are gentle on your clothes, use far less water and wash efficiently. If you select the 30 minute wash cycle it may well wash better than a top loader on a full cycle anyway. If you want your delicates ripped up by a top loader then go ahead and go with yesterdays technology for people who forget to put all their soiled clothes in the machine ...
