Ok but there is better – Used it once didn’t really vacuum seal to a good adequate degree. Wouldn’t recommend

It has been used to death! Use it almost every day! – I have used this machine constantly for a couple of years and only now is it starting to fail (clip on one side broke). I have really put this machine through its ‘paces’ so not really upset it has finally broken. Can’t wait to buy a new Aldi one.

No good – It worked fine but on about the 4th time I used it, I had just finished and it completely shorted out with a large bang which tripped the circuit breaker to the kitchen. I haven’t kept the receipt, so in the bin.

Seems ok – I have only just purchased this and used it a couple of times. It does what I expected it do without fuss. It's a little noist but it works :) Time will tell how long it lasts. Show details

I can live without this. I'm not liking how loud it is. Need ear covers. Sounds like a mosquito flying around my ear – The hum leaves my ears ringing. It's my husband new toy and he can't hear. Well he on his third bag. Says it is because....I think it is because it doesn't work. He is trying rice now He is a nord so they are very stubborn. 2022 model: LOVE IT! I should have bought one ages ago – Update: having read some of the negative reviews here, I think there is a lot of user error with this device. It is very important that the lid is FIRMLY closed and locks with a loud click, or it will not work at all. I’d suggest reading the user manual. of the checkout line. I’ve spent my afternoon sealing everything from beach towels to concrete samples.

Some tips:

Cut a bit more roll length than you think you’ll need. That will help get a wrinkle-free seam and ensure the seal is vacuum tight.

If you use the sealer on a bench top, use a chopping board on top to press down on the top of your package and get nice even flat blocks which are stackable for storage. See photo.

If you are sealing things already in plastic packaging, poke a couple of tiny holes in the original packaging, this will help you get the most air out. For some fun, try this on two minute noodles :)

If it seems to be sucking for ages and not sealing, hit cancel and straighten the bag out. Go again.

If you are worried your seal has a wrinkle, and might leak over time, you can do a backup seal using just the seal function without the vacuum.

You can use the seal function twice in succession on the same spot to really weld the plastic together.

I am super happy, this will come in very handy for camping trips and storage.

Aldi Ambiano vacuum sealer 2021 – Replaced a smaller Sunbeam unit that was always difficult to operate. Good to start with but inadequate quality – Bought this several months ago and have used several rolls of the bag plastic in this time. with little to hold them in place. No reason to make it this way, can only lead to early failure. Tried a superglue repair but only partially successful, so it is destined for the bin. I am guessing that they have had sealing problems in the past and decided to double up on the seal as a cheap cure rather than making a new deeper seal.

Sucks and Seals. Does a good job – Overall I am very happy with the product. The bags for the sealer are available in pre-made sizes or an open ended roll allowing you to make your own size bag - length wise. more air out where there might be an air pocket trapped, and, 2. very rarely, I have found a small leak where the bag has not completely sealed although it might look fine visually.

I am pleased that Aldi seem to stock replacement bags fairly frequently and I do hope they continue to do so. My machine is probably going on to a year old now and thankfully no issues have surfaced on my unit.

Was good while it worked – I bought this because we often fill the freezer with a whole sheep etc. It worked great for the first one and then died. Wouldn't suck the air out. Not very helpful when you have 14kg of steak to bag up! Show details

Excellent – Would have given 5 stars except for the fact that there is no mention in the manual that you must close the lid quite forcibly to get it to lock. that was sorted it worked extremely well. The vacuum seal was very strong. They recommend to use the gentle setting for delicate foods and I would head that warning.

Should have bought one ages ago – This review might not be super helpful as I only recently bought my Ambiano vacuum food sealer. I love this gadget. I can't believe it took me so long to buy one. amazing. I keep looking for things to vac pack! I love the seal only function and I love how you can control how much air is taken out before sealing.

Vacuum Sealer 'foam' split = no suck and seal – I was happy when I first used the product but after a while it stopped working. I investigated and found out why. This product is only 5 months old and the seal around the vacuum part has just come away from the lid. This means that it sucks the air out but can't seal. So when I hit the seal button, air comes back in, which defeats the point. Bad build.  Show details

Very good product for the portion of price of its competitors – I have been regularly using Lumina food sealer for already half a year and am very satisfied with its performance and quality. In distinction from its expensive competitors it is much smaller and takes much less storage space while doing exactly the same job. Perfect! – An absolutely great product. Handy for vacuum sealing food for freezing. Has 2 different options for moist products and dry products which is really fantastic. November 6th 2017 Update: still going strong

Follow up on my Ambiano vacuum food sealer. I bought this in February and it's still going strong and doing a great job keeping my "freezer food" totally frost and freezer burn free. Can't be more happy with my " not so new toy". I pack any food I purchase as soon as get home from shopping, it takes less than 1/2 hour depending on how much I buy.

Excellent, but you have to take it slowly – We bought the new sealer after years with our Sunbeam model. the Ambiano is automatic with the locks holding the lid shut while the process takes place. There is a dry/moist food setting as well as a "seal" feature for making bags from rolls. The auto vac/seal feature is a bit slow but does a good job. You have to slow down if the heating element get too hot or it will seal the bag without all the air being removed. Just wait for 20 seconds and you're ready to go. So far so good. The unit seems well made and comes with Aldi's warranty backing. Costing around $70, it is cheaper than the name-brand options with no real difference in quality. It also has a hose connection for sealing wine bottle and canisters with such a facility.

I like it a lot.

GREAT KITCHEN ACCESSORY FOR SERIOUS COOKING – I love our vacuum food sealer. Has assisted heaps with food and storage from stews to pizzas. It's sad some buyers have not had the same experience. I need to buy more rolls! Where can I get them? If the product is discontinued please advise on a different brand that works. Eager for tips!  Show reply
